    Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic)

    Purpose of the Job    

    • Medirite N1 City is looking for a qualified Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic to join our team.
    • The successful candidate will assist the pharmacist with dispensing and performing pharmacy-related administrative duties.

    • Dispensing (under the supervision of a pharmacist)

    • Housekeeping
    • Frontshop service

    Qualifications    

    Essential:

    • Qualified as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
    • Registered as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the South African pharmacy council.

    Experience    

    • Two years+ experience working in a similar role.

    Knowledge and Skills    

    Essential:

    • Customer service orientated
    • Dispensing knowledge
    • Knowledge of dispensing systems and ordering systems

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of Retail/ FMCG operations

    Risk Engineering Manager

    Purpose of the Job    

    • The Risk Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Risk Engineering team in overseeing compliance and risk management initiatives across the Shoprite Group.
    • The role has a major focus on managing the risk of fire within the Group and aims to provide operational support, mitigate risk, improve safety, and reduce claims.
    • The Risk Engineering Manager collaborates with stakeholders across the Group to assess risks, identify trends, determine compliance standards, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.

    Job Objectives    

    Risk Analysis and Mitigation

    • Analyze and assess risks and trends across the Group, identifying suitable methodologies, processes, or practices to mitigate potential risks.
    • Conduct comprehensive site visits to perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulations and risk mitigation standards.
    • Research and stay updated with regulatory requirements and best practices to support the development and continuous improvement of projects and initiatives.

    Compliance Management

    • Determine compliance requirements and establish monitoring processes to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, policies, and budgets related to risk engineering.
    • Review technical documents such as standards, proposals, designs, and budgets to ensure compliance and accuracy.

    Project Management and Coordination

    • Prepare and document project proposals, including project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify project requirements and provide regular communication on project progress, including status reporting, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
    • Provide project management support, ensuring ownership and timely delivery of risk initiatives and priorities.

    Team Leadership and Development

    • Lead and manage the Risk Engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
    • Identify training and development needs within the team and coordinate relevant training programs.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with various stakeholders, both internally and externally, to understand their requirements and align risk engineering initiatives with organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define compliance standards and ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the risk management process.
    • Address stakeholder queries, project requirements, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.

    Qualifications    

    • Degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or a related technical field (preferred).

    Experience    

    • 5 years of experience in a Senior Risk Engineering role or similar, assessing risk, monitoring compliance, and executing projects to manage loss control and mitigate risk in a regulatory, building control, health and safety, or risk management environment – (essential).
    • Experience in a retail, FMCG, or engineering environment - (essential).

    Knowledge and Skills    

    Essential:

    • MS Office, with an intermediate skill level in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint – (essential).
    • Conducting hazard analysis
    • Conducting risk assessments and applying risk engineering practices and principles
    • Risk mitigation strategies
    • Health and safety practices
    • Reviewing technical documents such as standards, proposals, designs and budgets
    • Project management methodologies and practices
