    Communications Co-Ordinator

    Responsibilities

    Communication – Internal and External

    • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure all employees are informed and engaged and aligns with the company’s goals and values.
    • Work closely with senior management and HOD’s to identify communication needs and objectives with the aim to develop content that support employee engagement, training and company initiatives.
    • Coordinate and manage internal events and engagements.
    • Develop and execute external communication strategies to enhance the company’s public image and brand reputation.
    • Create content for internal newsletters, emails, intranet, and other communication platforms.
    • Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, handling media enquiries, and coordinating interviews.
    • Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and social media content relating to the SOILL brand.
    • Promote SOILL’s sustainability efforts and achievements through various communication channels.
    • Oversee the communication aspects of the company’s annual report, ensuring it accurately reflects the company’s achievements and goals.

    Stakeholder engagement

    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, businesses and the local community. 
    • Develop and manage communication plans for stakeholder engagement initiatives.

    Messaging and content creation

    • Produce high-quality, original written content for various platforms, including website, social media, press releases, speeches and talking notes, and marketing materials.
    • Ensure all content, including social media, aligns with the company’s brand voice and messaging.

    Brand communication and events

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute brand (SOILL) communication campaigns.
    • Manage communications for all donations and sponsorships. 
    • Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, logistics, and vendor for stakeholder (Board) engagements, Internal events, and other corporate events.

    Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities

    • Oversee the company’s CSI activities, including the Canola Development Trust and learning and development initiatives to uplift the local community.
    • Develop and manage communication plans for CSI initiatives SOILL is involved in various social projects. These projects vary from financial and product donations to assisting schools within our canola producing districts.

    Crisis Communication

    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.

    Health and Safety 

    • Participate in safety forums created by SOILL for example safety meetings and safety talks.
    • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management.
    • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people.
    • Attend safety education and refresher programmes.
    • Comply with safety policies and procedures at SOILL.
    • Distribute safety information as and when required.
    • Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times

    Requirements

    Qualification and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, CSI, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 2 years of relevant working experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
    • Experience in content creation and managing communication channels.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with communication platforms and tools.
    • Experience in event management, including planning and executing corporate events.
    • Experience with social media management and digital marketing.
    • Experience managing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities and community development initiatives.

    Junior Buyer

    Responsibilities

    Procurement Administration:

    • Determine minimum stock levels for all maintenance stock items
    • Process all requests for ad hoc maintenance requirements, request quotes and specifications and present for approval
    • Create purchase order as per stock replenishment requirements determined by stock systems
    • Communicate approved purchase orders with suppliers and confirm relevant delivery dates
    • Update delivery dates to internal departments as communicated by suppliers
    • Investigate all outstanding deliveries and/or documentation
    • Arrange for delivery or collection (if priced ex works by supplier) of goods by populating logistics' Smartsheet loading instruction table
    • Communicate delivery dates to receiving departments
    • Responsible for coding and general ledger allocation of procurement costs; ensuring costs are allocated correctly
    • Communicate and arrange for return of rejected product to suppliers and manage process to finalisation with passing of credit

    Sourcing (consumables):

    • Researching for new suppliers
    • Meeting suppliers to discuss products on offer and requesting samples for trial
    • Communicating all product specifications to maintenance department for approval
    • Liaising with suppliers to arrange physical trials, where applicable, for new products
    • Negotiating prices with suppliers

    Supplier and Price Administration:

    • Ensure all supplier (business and banking) information are up to date on procurement system and reviewed regularly.
    • Investigate and resolve any queries on supplier accounts (differences in prices and quantities delivered) as reported by creditors department
    • Request specification documentation for all products and suppliers and keep records updated for existing suppliers
    • Ensure all supplier B-BBEE information are updated regularly for all supplier to reflect latest B-BBEE status
    • Keep record of latest approved supplier prices and update to price list system.

     Other procurement functions:

    • Administrative support for procurement manager
    • Ad hoc reporting as required by procurement manager
    • Communicating supplier non-conformances and follow up for timeous feed back
    • Liaise between warehouse stores, logistics and suppliers for all procurement related queries

     Health and Safety

    • Comply with safety policies and procedures

    Requirements

    Qualification and Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant qualification in supply chain management and purchasing would be an advantage.
    • Computer literate: MS Office.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong administration, organisation and problem-solving skills.
    • Good interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills.
    • Good understanding of MRP principles and systems
    • Technical knowledge of products and services required by company

    Laboratory Analyst

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for verification of routine QC performed before and after crushing and refining of edible oils.
    •  Ensure that the detail on the Load Sheet is transferred correctly to the documents that accompany each.
    •  Ensure the correct calculation of quantities of antioxidants and anti-foam are recorded on the load sheets.
    • Ensure that each customer has a fully and correctly completed Test Report.
    • Responsible for operating sensitive laboratory equipment.
    •  Daily and weekly verification checks in the Laboratory.
    • Inspection of goods received and raw materials.
    •  Management of retainer and shelf life samples.
    • Preparation of chemical solutions and standards.
    •  Sample preparation from Set Test Methods.
    • Strict adherence to Laboratory Rules and Regulations.
    • Involvement with all Laboratory projects for Production.
    •  Perform Sensory Evaluations as per final oil and mayonnaise batches.
    •  Assist in the training and verifying of new Laboratory trainees.
    • Ensure continuous housekeeping within the Laboratory.
    • Handling and monitoring Critical Control Points and Operational Prerequisite Plans.

    Health and Safety
