    Case Officer - Key Populations

    Purpose of the position:

    • To conduct follow-up and/or psychosocial activities in the Sex Work community by providing current accurate health information and linkage to care.  Provide health care counselling, and guide for testing services in non-clinical sites linking screening of TB, STI, PrEP and SRH interventions and enhancing adherence by addressing the emotional and mental health matters.  Promoting and encouraging enrolment into other HIV Prevention modalities (i.e. Social Network Strategies, Index, HIV Self-screening) implemented by the Programme

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Counselling certificate, Finger prick certificate
    • Minimum 1-year work experience in the Sex Work industry or experience as a case manager
    • Knowledge of PrEP and ART guidelines
    • Ability to liaise at all levels and to work in a multi-disciplinary team
    • Proficient in report writing
    • Sound networks with related institutions
    • Knowledge of TB and HIV/AIDS
    • Clear criminal record
    • Driver’s licence advantageous
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Ensures fast-tracking referrals from teams and provide direct psychosocial support to Sex Workers
    • Assists clients with appropriate referrals for other issues related to psychosocial
    • Provide an outcome report for referrals
    • Conducts visits at Sex Worker’s locations for service beneficiaries
    • Provides onsite and/or telephonic post-initiation and adherence counselling to link clients to treatment and retention in care
    • Conduct support/education group activities
    • Provides counselling and testing services as part of the outreach teams
    • Manage and trace LTFU and missed appointments, provide outcome to PNC
    • Prepare for Club sessions and refer clients to the club nurse
    • Informs Sex Workers of eligibility criteria for social support
    • Record and maintain accurate and detailed client’s information and interventions
    • Ensure all confidential records are kept safe according to the POPIA
    • Keep track of all performance according to captured records vs performance data to evaluate efficiencies

    Driver

    Purpose of the position:

    • To transport the outreach teams, commodities and equipment to and from different locations and other duties related to being a driver, including vehicle maintenance, observing all road safety and traffic laws.

    Minimum Requirements    

    •  Grade 10  
    •  Clear Criminal record.
    •  2 years' driving experience       .
    •  Valid code 10 driver's licence with professional driving permit (PDP)      
    •  At least 1-year experience working in any Key Polulations programme and advantage 
    •  Ability to communicate in English and another South African language

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    •  Shuttle the team for outreach on a day-to-day basis. 
    •  As best as possible, ensure the safety of the outreach team whilst on site.
    •  Ensure that the vehicle is in good running order. If noticing any concerns regarding the vehicle, highlight the programme manager immediately.
    •  Conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports defects to PNC.
    •  Maintain and update accurate log sheets and required reporting for all trips completed.
    •  Reconcile petrol usage and submit reports to Finance as required.
    •  Comply with all organisational fleet and driving policies and procedures. and all adhoc duties.
    •  Always abide by traffic laws.

    Skills and Competencies    

    •  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    •  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    •  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.
