    Growth Strategy Manager, Uber Direct South Africa

    About the Role

    • Uber Direct is our Delivery-as-a-service product which enables restaurants, grocers and retailers to unlock last mile delivery for their customers via their app or website by utilising our network of delivery partners.
    • Our Customer Success Managers are critical to the success of Uber Direct, and we need a strong, dedicated CSM to support and grow their business on our platform. You will be part advocate, part detective, and use data-driven recommendations to support your portfolio of top-tier partners. We are seeking an individual who can work collaboratively with sales, operations, and technical counterparts to unblock the needs of partners.
    • You will succeed in this role if: you find focus in fast-paced environments; you are a coach at heart; you possess an insatiable appetite to continuously learn and teach.

    What You'll Do

    • Own and manage a portfolio of top Platform Partners on Uber Direct; focus on growing their business, improving their operations and making them advocates
    • Assist with expansions, rollouts, and new partner initiatives to drive growth on Uber Direct
    • Set and track account KPI targets, weekly, monthly, and quarterly in a MBR, QBR context
    • Work cross functionally with teams to identify and drive growth opportunities
    • Engage with your portfolio to understand opportunities for our product team to build better features and products
    • Act as the partner's point of contact handling inquiries, resolving conflicts, and providing solutions in a timely manner
    • Lead cross-functional improvements in order to ensure we have the best customer experience in the industry
    • Collaborate with leadership to set organizational strategy, and rapidly execute against it.

    What You'll Need

    • 3+ years experience in customer success or account/partner management
    • Previous experience working with platform partners to drive onboarding and growth
    • Strong attention to detail, organized, and analytical; with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Previous Restaurant or Retail experience
    • Knowledge of CRM software like Salesforce
    • BA/BS Degree
    • Analytical Thinking: Analytical skills and ability to extract trends and insights from customers data. Executive Presence and ability to engage with multiple stakeholders.
    • Business Acumen: Good with articulation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and provide comprehensive solutions for varying customer needs.
    • Data Insights: Ability to use insights and data-driven decision making to inform the sales process. Develop sales strategies and market pitch to respond to a dynamic market landscape.
    • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate cross-functionally to build efficiencies, elevate customer experience and share knowledge, communicate and collaborate with Uber teams around the globe.

    Country Manager, Uber for Business SSA

    About the Role

    • As Uber continues to expand its B2B services around the world, the Uber for Business team is looking for a motivated, demanding, and hands-on commercial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment to take Uber's B2B business to the next level in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • As the Country Manager, you will own the end-to-end commercial strategy and vision for our solution suite across the region, taking full accountability for its success. This is a critical leadership role responsible for developing, coaching, and motivating a high-performing sales team, while balancing long-term strategic objectives with ambitious, short-term sales targets.
    • We are looking for a highly visible business leader with a demonstrated track record of building and running a B2B sales business in SSA, who is still driven by winning business and can lead by example culturally for the team.

    The Impact You'll Have

    • Commercial Strategy & Vision: Own, shape, and execute the overall SSA B2B commercial strategy and vision. Review the SSA market regularly to generate deep, actionable insights and outline where the opportunities are for U4B to unlock new growth vectors.
    • Hands-on Sales Leadership: Lead a sales and account management organization across SSA. Provide clear direction, but also act as a hands-on coach to the team, directly helping Account Executives navigate complex deals.
    • Executive Deal Support: Interface directly with high-value clients and potential customers, providing client-facing support for the largest deals to help the team close key regional accounts and exceed ambitious sales targets.
    • Scale the Organization: Enable Uber for Business to scale through high-impact commercial programs, executed centrally through HQ and localized through key operational markets (e.g., South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya).
    • Drive Operational Excellence: Partner closely with Sales Operations to build efficient go-to-market processes, establish performance KPIs, and drive organizational effectiveness across multiple country teams.
    • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the key contact for the region, representing U4B internally and externally, and working proactively to remove blockers for your team.
    • Matrix Leadership: Work closely in a highly matrixed environment with key stakeholders including Strategy & Operations - U4B, S&P - U4B, and the local Mobility & Eats Operations teams, alongside other senior leaders at HQ to set strategy and drive execution.
    • Strategic Accountability: Execute effectively in short-term sprints while defining and maintaining a clear, long-term strategic vision for the region's B2B success.

    The Experience You'll Bring

    • Track Record in SSA: A demonstrable track record of successfully running a B2B sales business across multiple territories/countries within Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
    • Hands-on Background: Ideally, experience progressing from an Individual Contributor sales role to a management position, possessing an AE background to ensure empathy and excellent coaching ability for the sales team.
    • Commercial Acumen & Autonomy: Strong commercial leader capable of shaping a clear, data-driven strategy, communicating the vision effectively, and taking full accountability for the region's commercial success.
    • Stakeholder & External Visibility: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of being the key contact for the region. Must possess the gravitas and communication skills to be highly visible, represent U4B on panels, and engage with high-level corporate and regulatory stakeholders.
    • Exceptional business judgement and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish high-value priorities and define strategies to pursue them in a complex operating environment.
    • Experience working for a U.S. Tech company is advantageous.
    • Experience working with Travel Management businesses is advantageous.
    • Fluency in English required; proficiency in other regional languages is a plus.
