    Financial Controller (X 2) - VKB Agri Processors (Pty) Ltd, Head Office Reitz

    Job Description
    The Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of controls to limit losses and mitigate risks within Agri Processors whilst consolidating various entities within VKB Agri Processors' financial statements to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting.

    Requirements

    • BCom. Accounting Degree with completed articles (SAICA/ SAIPA).
    • Industry experience will serve as recommendation.
    • Ability to function independently within a team and accept responsibility.
    • Strong administrative, numeracy and interpersonal skills
    • Good computer literacy and ability to function at an advanced level of MS Excel.

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Responsible for tax related issues (including but not limited to VAT, current and dividend tax)
    • Develop and implement financial controls to limit losses.
    • The drafting of daily, monthly and yearly financial reports
    • Fault finding on financial reports, reconciliations and statements.
    • Solving possible errors that was picked up during fault-finding. 
    • Management of daily cashflow as well as approvals relating to it.
    • Identification of possible risks and managing it to limit financial losses.
    • Identification of possible opportunities to optimise financial processes and gains.
    • Continuous evaluation of business practices
    • Monthly management statements
    • Year-end financial statements
    • Annual budget
    • Ledger- and management information system maintenance

    • The Trader's Assistant will be responsible for the management of Free State Oil's Trader's contracts and administration to ensure compliance and accuracy.

    Requirements

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Verify the accreditation process to ensure FICA documents of all clients and suppliers are in place before the transaction takes place.
    • Reconciliate of Purchase Orders, loading sheets, Raw Materials and Finished Goods
    • Review external load sheets to ensure correctness.
    • Ensure correctness of reconciliations and timeous distribution to the relevant personnel.
    • Review the Hedge- & Sales Admin orders and report deviations from normal business practice to the Financial Manager.
    • Report recon items on stock reconciliations to ensure that they are resolved timeously.
    • Continuous liaison with internal departments with regards to relevant transactions.

    Occupational Health & Safety Officer - VKB Regional Office, Modimolle

    Job Description

    This position’s primary goal is to ensure that VKB Agriculture complies with OHS Act, Railway safety regulations, food safety requirements for the grain department (PPECB.)             

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Grade 12
    • NOSA SAMTRAC
    • At least 3 years’ proven experience in the safety field, agriculture environment will be advantages
    • Willing to travel extensively
    • National diploma in safety management will be advantages

    Key responsibilities of this role

    • Investigate all accidents and re- evaluate control measures
    • Inspecting workplaces to identify non – conformances
    • Examining ways to improve health and safety standards.
    • Negotiating with managers and employees to provide a safe working environment.
    • Developing health and safety programs and strategies.
    • Keeping up to date with the law and technical knowledge.
    • Writing monthly  reports.
    • Conducting  risk assessments.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement and maintain an effective program and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation e.g. the OHS, COID,  Environmental Conservation and railway acts.
    • Develop systems to ensure all employees comply with all relevant legal safety requirements.
    • Identify safety training needs, organize and co-ordinate safety training courses and prepare. training material where appropriate.
    • Co-ordinate safety meetings:
    1. ensure meeting times are set
    2. agendas are sent out
    3. minutes are kept and sent out
    4. ensure that all support documentation in respect of the safety program is received on time and in the correct format from all concerned parties
    • Assist in appointment of all legal appointments
    • Communicate changes in Safety and Environment legislation to Management.
    • Evaluate incident forms, surveys, audits to establish root causes and together with Supervisors and Managers concerned, formulate a plan of action to correct non-compliant behaviour or conditions.
    • Liaise with onsite contractors to ensure their compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including basic safety induction training.
    • Conduct surveys and audits as required to identify and minimize the risk to company and employees.
    • Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management.
    • Co-ordinate at least two evacuation exercises per year to ensure that all staff become familiar with these procedures.
    • Assist with the formulation of emergency/contingency plans for:
    1. Natural disasters
    2. Industrial action
    3. Political unrest
    4. Fire
    5. Explosions
    6. Bomb threats
    • Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary.

    Knowledge

    • Thorough knowledge of relevant local safety, security and environmental legislation:
    1. OHSACT
    2. COID ACT
    3. Environmental Conservation Act
    • Working knowledge of safety systems.
    • A working knowledge of local OHS requirements.
    • Able to engage and work with external stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
