    Specialist - Security Valuations

    Description

    • The primary responsibility for this position is to manage teams of Fund Accountants who will perform the accounting and administration of all South African priced funds including Unit Trusts, Priced Pooled, Priced Segregated as well as South African Hedge Funds.  The individual will be required to manage staff, assisting with issues coming out of the operations, review of staff work and ensure processes are followed and standards are adhered. This individual will also oversee projects aimed at improving the processes within Fund Accounting. 

    Job specification

    The Position will be expected to: 

    • Deal with client queries and audit queries. 
    • Ensuring the accurate calculation of Fund valuations, including NAV’s and accounting to TB. 
    • Communicating and answering any queries on the Funds from the team. 
    • Manage the output of the team according to the daily production schedule. 
    • Perform valuation quality assurance valuation reviews and ensure consistent quality of output. 
    • Document all processes, checklists and controls within the team. 
    • Monitor and manage the performance of the team as well as individual team members, including setting up KPI aligned to job description and development of staff.  
    • Implementation of projects checks and controls to mitigate risk. 
    • Management of staff in taking on new funds allocated. 
    • Participate and lead training applicable for the team. 
    • Monitoring and delegating to ensure that recons in fund accounting are clear.

    Skills Required:

    • An accounting qualification (minimum B.Com or equivalent) together with either 3 years accounting experience or at least 6 months Fund Accounting experience or. 
    • 24 months plus Fund Accounting experience in asset management portfolio administration and pricing.  
    • In addition, the individual should have experience with the various fund types either locally or internationally. 

    IT and Systems Skills and Knowledge: 

    • Advanced level experience in using Excel, InvestOne and other related systems. 
    • Proven competence and an aptitude for working with systems. 

    Skills and Abilities: 

    • Detailed understanding of funds and fee structures. 
    • Previous experience in supervising a team and conducting colleague reviews. 
    • Previous experience in dealing with clients. 
    • Previous experience in mentoring of junior and new staff. 
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); 
    • Confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated. 
    • A track record of achievement.

    Administrator

    The Role 

    • We are seeking a proactive Administrator to join the Apex Corporate Services team. The successful incumbent will be required to take responsibility for the administration of a client portfolio whilst providing the highest quality of customer service. The candidate will have direct responsibility for servicing a large portfolio of offshore based clients and will work closely with the management team.

    Job specification Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks including:

    • Be responsible for and working with senior administrator managing a client portfolio including all aspects of administration & company secretarial matters; Manage the day-to-day client request and reporting;
    • Communicate directly with clients and the manager to answer and resolve queries;
    • Assisting with the organising and supervising the execution of the income distribution and ongoing administration process (supported by a payment team);
    • Ensure operations like subscription, redemptions and transfers are completed in a timely manner against set SLA monthly deadlines;
    • Ensure all email queries are solved promptly and satisfactorily by monitoring client and fund manager emails;
    • Ensure that responsibilities are done effectively and to agreed client, best practice, regulatory and statutory deadlines by closely working with senior administrator and managers in the team;
    • Work with senior leadership to ensure the planning, coordination and completion of all regulatory obligations and administration requirements within strict deadlines for a portfolio of entities;
    • Following customer specific procedures in relation to administration and reporting requirements for each entity;
    • Assist the accountants in respect of the planning and coordination of audits and filing of annual statutory financials statements;
    • Build detailed understanding of client portfolios, entity specific requirements and applicable statutory regulations/requirements and act as a source of guidance to other team members and to answer client queries;
    • Assist with bank account openings and coordinate AML/KYC requests around the entity portfolio when required;
    • Be aware and assist with payment transactions for your client portfolio;
    • Arrange and attend board meetings, prepare minutes and maintain other appropriate records and logs;
    • Prepare and implement customer-specific procedures in relation to the governance and reporting requirements for specific client structures;
    • Manage a large client portfolio, including all aspects of administration and company secretarial matter;
    • Preparation of documentation for signature;
    • Ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies, controls and systems, including meeting any internal deadlines;
    • Liaise with third parties such as lawyers, auditors, bankers, tax advisors and alternative investment fund managers as required.
    • Build key relationships with clients, respond swiftly to client requests and manage client expectations.

    Skills Required 

    • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a fund administration role or relevant experience within financial services or law.
    • An LLB, BCom, or a relevant business qualification is essential.
    • Experience in corporate solutions, fiduciary services, legal work, or in-house company secretarial roles would be advantageous.
    • Being an admitted attorney will further strengthen your application.
    • A strong academic background in areas such as Chartered Secretary, Corporate Governance, Compliance, or similar fields is also desirable.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel and outlook)
    • Knowledge of the regulatory environment relating to fund management (some training will be provided)
    • Willing to adapt and learn and work with a team
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • A basic understanding of AML requirements
    • A working knowledge of Company Law and Corporate Governance advantageous
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to obtain data from several sources and interpret accordingly
    • Ability to work in a team environment, including with colleagues in other jurisdictions.

    Senior Workday Security Analyst

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workday Security Analyst to join our Workday Central Team. As a Senior Workday Security Analyst, you will serve as point of contact for managing and maintaining security across the Workday platform. Ensuring compliance and maintaining security standards and protocols inclusive of HCM.

    Duties and responsibilities: 

    • Subject matter expert with design, configure and maintain Workday security roles, security groups, domains, and business process security policies to align with business requirements and compliance standards.
    • Collaborate with functional teams to ascertain requirements and propose which type of Security Group we need to implement for various requirements and workarounds, all while aligning to best practice.
    • Have experience in designing, configuring and managing Workday restrictions.
    • Manage role assignments, user-based assignments, authentication policies, segregation of duties and user access reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and audit standards.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant evidence and deploying relevant changes to our security controls to manage risks and comply with regulations.
    • Monitor and audit security setups and user access to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards (SOX, GDPR, SoD etc).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve Workday security issues and service requests in a timely manner.
    • Engage in Workday release testing and evaluate the impact of updates on security configurations.
    • Maintain and document process guides, security configurations and adherence to governance frameworks.

    Requirements/ Skills: 

    • 3 – 5+ years of Workday Security Experience
    • In-depth knowledge of Workday security frameworks such as domains, business processes, role-based and user-based permissions
    • Experience with Workday tenant management, user provisioning and security testing
    • Certification in any of the Workday Security Modules or relevant experience
    • Strong understanding in HR processes and Workday Reporting
    • Experience conducting Audits pertaining to Technology
