    Relationship Manager: Heavy Haulage - Bloemfontein

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The candidate will understand premium and profit objectives through brokers by building relationships that will ensure growth and retention through creative and attentive marketing, underwriting and risk management strategies.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Manage allocated portfolio growth, retention, profitability and any other business relevant factors and agree growth plan.
    • Work within a cluster and indirectly lead a team comprising of Service Consultants and Underwriters to deliver a service to the allocated portfolio of brokers.
    • Reporting on performance against agreed targets
    • Identify and develop sales opportunities
    • Provide Training to brokers
    • Ensure a consistent and detailed understanding of the sales targets, goals, performance levels, products, business rules and conditions.
    • Ensure a consistent detailed understanding amongst brokers of their growth targets, goals, performance levels, available products and any compliance requirements.

    • Utilize technology to manage data and the performance of the portfolio under management

    • Co-ordinates and delivers new and on-going training on products, processes and systems
    • Work within a Portfolio cluster and provide technical leadership and direction for the underwriting (technical, pricing, structure, complex processing) on all matters as they relate to ownership of your assigned portfolio.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric or equivalent qualification
    • FAIS accreditation required
    • RE 5
    • NQF 5 insurance or risk management qualification 
    • Minimum 3 years’ Commercial Insurance experience
    • Knowledge of HCV Insurance sales and underwriting experience
    • Experience in being on the road, dealing with, and visiting brokers
    • A thorough understanding of all Heavy Haulage /HCV insurance products

    Claims Reporting and Salvage Manager

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all claims reporting and salvage activities for Outsourced Business / Tailored Claims Solutions binder holders operating under a Santam mandate.
    • The role focuses on CAT reporting, monthly and ad-hoc claims reporting, motor and non-motor salvage coordination, and recovered stolen vehicle processes.
    • The position acts as the primary liaison between binder holders, Santam internal stakeholders, procurement, and approved salvage service providers, ensuring accurate, timely reporting, effective salvage turnaround times, compliance to mandates, and strong stakeholder relationships. 

    WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

    • CAT Reporting: Manage all catastrophe (CAT) reporting for Outsourced Business. Communicate newly issued CAT codes to all binder holders, obtain monthly CAT reports from binder holders, consolidate data into a single outsourced business CAT report, and distribute to relevant Santam stakeholders. Provide increased frequency reporting during large CAT events as required.
    • Monthly Claims Reporting: Obtain monthly claims data from binder holders, Santam stakeholders, and salvage service providers. Compile consolidated outsourced business claims reports and provide ad-hoc claims data as required by the business.
    • Reporting Enablement and Training: Define reporting requirements, provide reporting guidance, and deliver reporting training to new and existing binder holders during onboarding and ongoing engagements.
    • Motor Salvage Management: Act as liaison between binder holders, Santam OB Claims, Santam salvage department and approved external motor salvage dealers. Support data accuracy, manage outstanding salvage and documentation, reduce turnaround times on salvage sales, and ensure effective motor salvage reporting.
    • Non-Motor Salvage Management: Work closely with Santam Procurement to ensure binder holders are aware of and utilise only Santam-approved non-motor salvage providers. Ensure binder holders maintain compliant salvage registers and provide required non-motor salvage reporting.
    • Recovered Stolen Vehicles: Act as liaison officer between binder holders and Santam for all recovered stolen vehicle queries, assistance, coordination, and reporting in line with approved SOPs.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with binder holders, Santam internal teams, procurement, salvage suppliers, and other service providers.
    • Automation and Innovation: Support and drive reporting automation initiatives, including the use of AI and advanced reporting tools, to improve data quality, efficiency, and insight.
    • Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to Santam mandates, service level agreements, policies, regulatory requirements, and reporting standards.
    • Travel and Onsite Support: Conduct periodic onsite visits to binder holders and service providers for onboarding, reporting training, relationship management, and operational support.
    • SAICB point of contact.
    • Other ad-hoc Claims reporting and salvage duties as required by business needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Relevant insurance-related qualification (advantageous).
    • 5–7 years’ experience within a short-term insurance claims environment (motor and non-motor).
    • Proven experience in claims reporting, data analysis, and stakeholder reporting.
    • Sound knowledge of outsourced / binder holder claims environments and mandates.
    • Experience in motor and non-motor salvage processes.
    • Advanced computer literacy (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Experience with reporting automation, data analytics, or AI-driven reporting tools will be a significant advantage.
    • Willingness and ability to travel locally.

    Policy Wording and Technical Underwriting Specialist

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The purpose of the role is to support Personal Lines and Outsourced Business:

    • The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for compiling, updating, reviewing and maintaining of policy wordings, endorsements, addendums, terms, conditions, PPR/ Disclosure notices etc.
    • Responsible to give sound claims and personal lines underwriting advice both from a legal and underwriting perspective.
    • Responsible for adherence to all regulatory requirements within the Personal Lines Underwriting
    • Integrate and update existing Underwriting manuals/policies, operational manuals and underwriting guidelines, etc
    • Create new underwriting guidelines and procedures if required.
    • Assist in formulating and sign-off of underwriting circulars and media articles.
    • Analysis, interpretation, review, recommend and communicate policy wording / endorsement changes to Binderholders / relevant stakeholders
    • Assist with product changes and associated projects
    • Alignment of product changes to that of policy wordings, endorsements etc.
    • Drive implementation and monitor results thereof

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Min of 8 years’ experience in Short Term insurance - Personal Lines
    • Report writing experience
    • Strong Technical product underwriting knowledge and proficiency – Personal Lines
    • Understanding of Risk management
    • Degree in Insurance & Risk Management or similar disciplines would be an advantage.
    • Computer literate (extensive experience of Excel, Word, Acrobat Pro and PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of the short term insurance legal framework
