    Enrolled Nurse- Theatre OR

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Group is committed to creating places of healing for their communities, focused on attracting the best expertise and dedicated to building a steadfast, devoted team. The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and Unit Manager.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Ensure that all documentation is maintained timeously and accurately, reflecting patient care
    • Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients
    • Participate in ward/unit’s quality improvement programme
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement
    • Effective communication with patients’ regarding their care
    • Promotion of patient overall health and wellbeing
    • Refer all complaints from patients and doctors to sister-in-charge of the unit
    • Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors and ensure timeous completion of all delegated tasks

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and all applicable health care legislation
    • Relevant 2 Year experience in the nursing discipline would be an advantage
    • Previous experience within a Theatre Operating environment essential
    • Computer Literacy
    • Flexible in working hours/Shifts

    Enrolled Nurse-Paediatric Ward 2

    ICU - Enrolled Nurse (EN) (MooiMed)

    Main Focus Areas

    • An Enrolled Nurse in ICU provides direct bedside nursing care to critically ill patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and medical team. Key duties include closely monitoring vital signs and neurological status, maintaining accurate fluid balance records, and assisting with the care and observation of invasive lines, drains, and monitoring equipment. The Enrolled Nurse also performs essential hygiene and comfort care, adheres to strict infection prevention protocols, administers medications within scope, and promptly reports any change in the patient’s condition to the supervising nurse or doctor to support safe, continuous intensive care.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • To provide holistic patient care within the scope of practice and according to the nursing care plan.​
    • To ensure the cost-effective utilization and management stock and consumables.​
    • To contribute to teamwork and efficiency of the team. ​
    • To continuously strive towards delivering of high-quality nursing care.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Enrolled Nurse Diploma / Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary diploma and registration with SANC.​
    • Must be willing to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit. ​
    • ICU experience will be an advantage.​
    • Basic knowledge of stock control principles. ​
    • Sound knowledge of nursing activities and procedures as per scope of practice. ​
    • Good communication skills.​
    • High energy levels and adaptability to changing working environment.​
    • Must be able accountable for decision made and be able to work under pressure.​
    • Fully bilingual.

    SPH Registered Nurse Trained - MICU

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care
    • Promote patient of health and wellbeing
    • Audit of health records to ensure compliance
    • Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately
    • Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse ICU Trained or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
    • Post Basic ICU / Critical Care Qualification.
    • Relevant qualification and experience within a specialist area.
    • Computer Literate.
    • Flexible in working hours / shifts
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.
