    Dispatch Controller | Meridian Wine Distribution | Gauteng

    Job Description

    • Meridian Wine Distribution is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatch Controller to join our Gauteng operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and efficient dispatch of stock, maintain high-quality documentation standards, and support seamless warehouse and transport operations. 

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Complete the form (POD Book of Transporter e.g.: RTT) in terms of where the stock has been loaded from, where it is going and confirm the pallet quantity and seal number.
    • Name, surname, signature and date of dispatch should appear on the Proof of delivery.
    • Any deficiencies on the truck to be noted which could include amongst others, bad tyres, expired license disc, no seal loops.
    • Ensure that the vehicle is loaded as per the orders in hand.
    • All CHEP pallets leaving the warehouse must be counted and the number of pallets should correspond to the paperwork received.
    • Once the stock is loaded and the driver is done strapping the load, a photograph needs to be taken of the stock.
    • When the truck is closed and sealed the driver is required to sign the posted documentation and receive a copy of the documentation.
    • Once the documentation is signed it is then scanned in and emailed to the procurement/Stock/Distribution team of CPT and the warehouse team of receiving region (JHB or KZN).
    • When the driver has received his documentation, double check that the driver’s documents correspond to your own and that you have the transporters book.
    • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained.
    • Plan and prioritize, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands.
    • Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational needs.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suit; moderate to advanced Excel skills; able to filter, tabulate, create and interpret graphs, pivot tables; moderate to advanced Outlook proficiency; able to use MS Outlook and Outlook 365, communicate effectively, inbox management, OS-Ticket System management.

    Credit Controller | Meridian Services | Cape Town

    Job Description

    • Meridian Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Credit Controller to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will manage accounts receivable, ensure accurate and timely credit control processes, and maintain strong relationships with clients while safeguarding the company’s financial interests.

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Update the cash flow forecast report daily from the 15th of the month-to-month end with payment expectations and receipts.
    • Review the percentage of overdue accounts from the Credit Controller’s report and the updated age analysis to identify outstanding customers.
    • Proactively communicate with customers regarding upcoming payments and follow up consistently to ensure the timely collection of outstanding debt.
    • Ensure all customer queries related to the debtors’ team are promptly followed up, thoroughly researched, and resolved on time.
    • Notify customers of account status change to “on hold” account - pending payment.
    • Send requested ad hoc customer statements when required.
    • Accurately allocate each payment transaction to the relevant invoice for “B Customers”. Process early payment discounts.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations of customers’ accounts.
    • Continuously manage the “on hold” report by identifying relevant customers and colour coding as per the agreement. Contact the customer regarding the order on hold. Add comments to “on hold” customers with relevant details of expected payments.
    • Ensure continuous development and up-to-date industry knowledge and competence.
    • Contribute towards informal succession planning and skills transfer within the team by, adopting a coaching and/or mentorship approach and teaching team members new learnings.
    • Facilitate open and effective communication and promote cross-functional and cross-company collaboration thereby contributing towards a diverse and productive work environment.
    • Address and resolve conflicts within the team to maintain a healthy work environment.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Grade 12, Diploma or Certificate in Credit Management 1
    • 3 years’ experience in Debtors Administration
    • Knowledge of Financial Systems
    • Valid driver’s license

    Stock Control

    • Lead and monitor stock cycle count processes, analyse discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory records.

    Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Assist in preparation of annual budgets.
    • Support financial forecasting processes.
    • Provide financial insights to senior management.

    Leadership & Team Management

    • Manage, mentor, and develop finance team members.
    • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of finance staff.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with other departments (Sales, Production, Logistics, Procurement) to support business objectives.

    Qualifications and Key Attributes:

    • Qualified CA(SA)
    • Completed articles (SAICA)
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUP etc.)
    • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Sage preferred)
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with a proactive approach to tasks
    • Strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills
    • Maintains strict confidentiality of financial information and demonstrates strong ethical standards
    • Excellent time management and ability to work independently and in a team
    • Hardworking, committed and dedicated
    • Experience with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs is advantageous
