    Supervisor Protection Services

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Be in possession NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior certificate. A NQF 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) in Security Risk Management or Security Management or Law enforcement related qualification would be an advantage

    The Appointee should:

    • Be in possession NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior certificate.
    • Have a valid Grade A registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)) or the ability to obtain one within 3 months.
    • Have at least 5 years’ experience in a security related role and 3 years in an officer capacity
    • Have a clear security screening record.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Be in possession of a learner achievement certificate relevant to all three firearms Basic Firearm; Business Purpose; Regulation 21) and be in possession of a firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000
    • Demonstrate sound communication skills in English (verbal and written) and be a self-assured well-disciplined individual with proven analytical skills
    • Have sound knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act, Act 51 of 1977 and the Mine Health and Safety Act, Act 29 of 1996
    • Have a working knowledge of the Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000 , the Explosive Act, Act 15 of 2003, the Precious Metals Act, Act 37 of 2005 and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA), Act 28 of 2002
    • Be able to perform duties on a shift rotation basis – morning shift, day shift, afternoon shift and night shift
    • Be aware that he/she will be subject to periodical and random polygraph examinations, and be expected to achieve a No Deception outcome
    • Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • A NQF 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) in Security Risk Management or Security Management or Law enforcement related qualification would be an advantage

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Actively participating in managing current protection infrastructure, architecture, and protocols, and in designing cost effective appropriate security solutions to ensure optimal protection in his/her sector of responsibility
    • Ensuring that the Protection Services operational tactics are executed in a sector, zone and operation and ensures that all required activities are performed during a shift
    • Managing human capital and other resources in a flexible manner to ensure a timely and effective response to changes in the security situation, vulnerabilities and threats in his/her sector, zone or Operation, during his/her shift.
    • Actively ensuring that on-the-job training is carried out, and remains accountable to ensure that employees in his/her shift attend scheduled training and development courses
    • Managing all other resources and appropriately resources all security processes to ensure that the required activities are performed effectively during the shift and ensures that all incidents or events have been responded to, and /or carried over to the next shift
    • Actively ensuring that Company/Client policy, as well as security policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and post orders are executed and/or complied with
    • Actively identifying and developing security procedures and/or post orders found to be lacking, redundant or outdated in terms of the required activities that need to be performed, and in terms of the changing security situation, vulnerabilities, and threats.
    • Taking responsibility for all security technology issues in his/her sector while on shift

    Unit Manager Firemaster

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Chamber of Mines / Minerals Council Certificate in Mine Environmental Control or BSc in Engineering.

    The Appointee should:

    • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as Environmental Engineering Superintendent.
    • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as Mines Rescue Services and/or Surface Fire Responder Brigades person.
    • Have computer skills.
    • Display good interpersonal skills.
    • Possess sound analytical and decision-making skills.
    • Have the ability to work independently.
    • Always maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Be stress tolerant.
    • Possess sound judgemental skills.
    • Be medically fit to work underground in hot mines.
    • Have a clear security screening record.
    • Have a valid driver’s license.

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • NQF 6 (Diploma in Fire Technology, IFE Level 3 Diploma in Fire Science and Safety or FPASA Diploma /Advanced Certificate in Fire Prevention.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Experience in a related role, at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area will be an added advantage.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for operationalising the FEP & EPR strategy in the business at global best practice levels.
    • Ensure FEP & EPR strategic and operational plans are rolled out and executed at operating companies.
    • Ensure Long-term FEP & EPR planning in the context of the long-term future of the Group.
    • Benchmarking, auditing, monitoring, analysing, and reporting, installation of best practices and standards, and people resources development, a conducive culture needs to be established within the discipline.
    • Drive the discipline to highest possible standards of expertise, performance and achievement of strategic results required.
    • Audit and investigation programmes for FEP & EPR Risk management at operations are established and managed, to ensure confidence in the data supplied, and that applicable legislation and standards are being complied with.
    • Accurate, comprehensive, and integrated FEP & EPR Risk management processes and practices, supported by appropriate world-class systems are applied across the Group.
    • Parameters and protocols for FEP & EPR reporting across the Group and within corporate office are designed, disseminated, implemented and coordinated.
    • FEP & EPR Risk assessments and analysis are professionally conducted.
    • Ensure Projects, especially of a technical nature, are undertaken and appropriate recommendations made to ensure that FEP & EPR technology in Sibanye Stillwater is world class.
    • FEP & EPR Risk models for use throughout the business are determined and implemented across the Group.
    • Measurement systems are developed and refined. The measurements indicate correct planned progress being made towards achieving the FEP & EPR Risk direction and vision.
    • A benchmarking system is developed and implemented to track and highlight effectiveness and efficiency factors, and identifies focus points or areas for improved/corrective action/s.
    • Audits are conducted, results correctly analysed and interpreted and appropriate recommendations are made.
    • Communication and protocols are correctly used to bring about required FEP & EPR Risk management practices, policies, and standards across the group in all disciplines.
    • FEP & EPR Risk education training and development programmes for use throughout the business are determined, established, and implemented across the Group.
    • FEP & EPR Risk assessments and analysis are professionally conducted.
    • World-class FEP & EPR Risk management best practices are sourced, investigated, assessed, and/or developed, and introduced to the Group where appropriate benefit will be gained.
    • FEP & EPR Reports are compiled on a scheduled basis.
    • Policies, procedures, systems, and standards that guide and co-ordinate FEP & EPR practices across the Group are developed, passed on to operations to implement, and compliance monitored and audited.
