    Business Unit Manager - Boilershop

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Management of team members through the adherence of company policies and procedures
    • Management of resources and costs to ensure that productivity, recoveries, turnaround time and sales targets are met
    • Ensures compliance to production schedules, machine build plans, quality processes, efficiency standards and WIP
    • Drive CI initiatives to ensure operational excellence (OpEx)
    • Drives strategic plan for the business unit/s to ensure business grows in a sustainable manner
    • Align resource requirements with capacity plan and conduct forward looking exercises to create predictability
    • Promote the K-way and the Monozukuri principles of Komatsu
    • Maintain and manage all equipment and tools
    • Training and mentoring staff; motivating them all for effective performance for the general growth of the company
    • Analyze and explore market trends; identifying new opportunities to grow the business.
    • Coordinate with other HOD’s and managers to integrate objectives and ideas for organizational growth.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical or similar qualification) and/or Production Management
    • Studing towards Post Graduate Qualification in Business and/or Project Management will be advantageous.
    • Metallurgist knowledge and experience will be advantageous/beneficial.
    • Supervisory/Management Course – Focused on People Management
    • 3-5 years’ experience working at a middle management level within an Engineering/Industrial environment
    • Must have experience in executing plans, delivering business goals, and implementing changes in order to achieve or exceed targets
    • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and lean principles
    • Previous experience working within and or managing a unionized workforce
    • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Experience using ERP’s (SAP)
    • Must have driver’s license and own transport.

    Procurement Officer - Wadeville

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Sourcing of goods and services as per specified requirement using tactical sourcing method.
    • Converting purchase requisition to purchase orders, in line with procure to pay process.
    • Executing end-to-end RFX processes and managing queries related to procure to pay process.
    • Setting up Contracts /Service Level Agreements with selected suppliers and managing contract register accordingly.
    • Identifying savings opportunities and prepare monthly savings report.
    • Ensuring that the procurement of goods and services is consistent with the procurement policy and business requirements.
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Identifying process improvements and aligning processes with Procurement Policy.
    • Performing any other work delegated/assigned within Indirect Procurement and reporting as necessary.
    • Minimum Skills required.
    • Grade 12.
    • Must have a Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or at least NQF level 6 qualification.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in procurement of industrial commodities in a Manufacturing environment.
    • Understanding of vendor on-boarding procedures and material master data related requests.
    • Must have proven experience in executing projects as required and support internal customers.
    • Must have working knowledge of contracts, RFx and BBBEE.
    • Must have SAP R/3 experience; and be computer literate in MS Office suit. and
    • Must have driver’s license and own reliable transport.

    Behavioral Competencies required.

    • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and commercially minded.
    • Must have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines, and
    • Must be willing to travel to suppliers.
