    Business Analyst (Senior)

    Key Purpose

    • Compass Business Analyst will be responsible for the elicitation of requirements, documentation and implementation of business/product rules. Requirements for the system and process enhancements as well as legislative requirements. Compass configuration skills and knowledge, testing as well as support and root cause analysis of production issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the execution and delivery on projects, enhancements and resolving production issues.
    • Responsible for the elicitation of business and product rules during the analysis phase of the enhancement and minor projects, functional specifications on Compass system and configuration and the quality of testing outputs and deliverables. 
    • Decomposing complex problems into simple Compass solutions. Strong Compass knowledge in different sub-systems. Able to configure rules according to business, product and legislative rules e.g. Expense, Claims, Product configuration.
    • Strong Compass understanding and application of Compass rules and architecture of sub subsystems.
    • Strong Financial Services LISP and LIFE Product knowledge is required.
    • Produce written functional requirement specifications for various systems around Compass enhancements/maintenance/projects etc. by retrieving the requirements from business and holding JAD sessions and producing technical detail in order to meet business’s requirements.
    • Effectively testing and test matrix for all requirements after development to ensure that they are working successfully as per FRD and to identify and fix any test defects before deploying for user acceptance testing and sign-off.
    • Generate and review test packs and execute test cases.
    • Root cause analysis of bugs to reduce and eliminate future risk.
    • Providing training and support to junior analysts and other team members.
    • Leading a team of configuration analysts and providing guidance and support on projects
    • Developing strategies to optimize system configurations for improved performance and efficiency.
    •  Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices in configuration management.
    • Developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks associated with configuration changes.
    • Reviewing and approving configuration changes to ensure they meet quality standards and business requirements.

    Education and Experience

    • Matric
    • Business Analysis certification a plus
    • BSc Computer Sciences / Information Systems or equivalent tertiary qualification (Advantageous)
    • Qracle SQL knowledge and skills
    • Minimum 8 Years Compass experience.
    • Advance Compass Configuration skills and knowledge
    • Linked investment structured product knowledge (LISP)

    Systems Architect - Discovery Life

    Key Purpose

    • The Systems Architect will lead the design and implementation of complex IT systems, ensuring they meet the company's strategic goals and technical requirements.

    • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including senior management and external partners, to ensure that technical solutions solve the relevant business needs as expressed through requirements documents in a sustainable manner. This role requires effective communication and negotiation skills to align technical solutions with business objectives.
    • Create and uphold architectural documentation, standards, and guidelines. This ensures consistency and clarity in the system architecture. Collaborate with other senior architects where appropriate to ensure a sensible level of consistency.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, driving innovation within the organization. Balance this against prudence, ensuring that trends are not adopted simply because they are trendy, but rather because of the value they will provide. This role impacts the company’s competitive edge and technological advancements, but also forms a crucial role in preventing unnecessary expenditure.

    Education and Experience

    Essential

    • Matric
    • 8+ years’ total experience in the development of software
    • At least 2 years in a systems analyst or team lead role

    Advantageous

    • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent).
    • Experience being responsible for a large-scale system area, including designing new functionality, overseeing developers in that area, and supporting it in production over an extended period of time

    Actuarial Analyst

    Key Purpose

    • The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the Vitality Drive International product offering, with a focus on product development, innovation and detailed analysis. This includes designing tailored solutions for global insurers across diverse markets and regulatory landscapes based on data-driven insights. The role offers exposure to international business environments and encourages creative, out-of-the-box thinking to drive product value and differentiation. Key responsibilities span experience reviews, reporting, AI integration and collaboration across business development, legal, marketing and systems to ensure seamless delivery and ongoing optimization.

    Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

    • Demonstrate value to Insurers with reference and in support of the Shared Value Insurance framework.
    • Contribute to formal and informal research to aid in the design and improvement of products and features.
    • Build business case models to validate Shared Value Insurance and actuarial surplus unlocked through the Vitality Drive Program.
    • Work closely with industry leads in delivering AI backed solutions to our tenants.
    • Create presentation decks and specification documents for programs during the conceptualization phase. Develop unique data and program insights as input into experience review presentations presented to carriers periodically.
    • Execute international carrier strategy by innovating and leading delivery of benefits and features that meet the partner Insurer’s business objectives.
    • Perform longitudinal, cross-sectional and segmentation analysis to support international partners in their strategies for campaigns, logistics, and performance review.
    • Develop actuarial/statistical models, and detailed business cases to aid in decision-making.
    • Lead multiple concurrent large-sized projects from the phase of conceptualization through implementation, operationalization, and post-implementation management.
    • Act as a consultant in guiding and improving a partner Insurer’s new and existing product suite, features, growth, and engagement strategies.
    • Collaborate with numerous stakeholders both internal (e.g. marketing, systems, graphics, data analysts, compliance, legal and usability specialists) and external to develop projects that are engaging and provide a memorable customer experience.
    • Develop standardised reporting to track key metrics on large-scale initiatives for new and existing carriers.
    • Present to various internal and external stakeholders to get buy-in and approval.
    • Participate in feasibility, solutioning, and relevant forums to co-create project solutions.
    • Provide analytical perspective on program performance (in respect of benefit utilization, driver score experience, behavioural outcomes, digital engagement) relative to market-related assumptions to inform adequacy of product design and recommendations for review.
    • Exercise financial prudence and keen business acumen in the pricing and review of products to ensure long-term sustainability of commercial arrangements and partner economics.
