    Management and Cost Accountant

    Job Description

    • Assist with AECI Mining Chemicals entity budget process, in conformance with the AECI guidelines and principles
    • Assist with monitoring and controlling expenditure within approved level, ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures and policies
    • Prepare budget & forecast reports for Plant Operations and monitor performance against budget and lasts view and provide insight into deviations against planned
    • Review accounting statements, expense reports, and standard forms for accuracy, completeness, and conformity to procedures
    • Provide Operations Managers and Head of Finance Mining with timeous and relevant management information
    • Provide guidance and support to business to ensure the accurate asset set up, asset classes, useful lives, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with IFRS and AECI policies
    • Review weekly production order settlements, prepare reports and follow-up significant variances as well as reconciliations
    • Monitor and verify all production and purchase price variances and escalate undesirable effects to the Business Analyst – Operations
    • Ensure adequate internal controls covering financial risk areas and that any inadequacy is brought to the attention of Plant Managers
    • Comply with all legislation relating to accounting matters / monitor compliance related to the Operations plants
    • Assist with the review of audit instructions and compile/prepare supporting documentation for the

    Qualifications & Experience

    • B Com degree or equivalent (Must) in Finance / Honours or any related
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant, experience as a costing / manufacturing accountant will be advantageous
    • Advanced knowledge of Finance Systems (SAP, BW, BO, Cognos)
    • Financial policies, procedures, and processes
    • Communication and report writing skills
    • Excellent computer skills – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Inventory Controller

    Job Description

    • GRV of raw materials, direct materials and imports.
    • Material movement between warehouse, plants, imports and exports.
    • Manage 3PL movements of stock.
    • Manage rebate stock movements and recons
    • Create traded goods material code.

    Material Handler

    Job Description

    • Acceptance of deliveries by signing PODs and making sure that quality and quantities received are correct
    • Ensuring that loading and offloading of all trucks is done in a safe manner according to AECI policies and procedures.
    • Safely move production stock between storage locations on a daily basis
    • Ensure good housekeeping practices in warehouse.

    Data Analyst Intern

    Job Description

    • Conduct data analysis on sales figures, margins, costs, and contributions.
    • Identify anomalies in data and escalate findings to relevant business managers for investigation.
    • Collaborate closely with the Corporate Key Accounts Manager and Sales Executives on key account strategic and operational initiatives.

    Explosive Engineer

    Job Description

    • Continuously monitor and provide feedback to the relevant Regional Manager on market intelligence, which forms the base for identifying key strategic issues facing customer portfolios.
    • Compile and maintain Key Account Management Plans (KAMP) using the Sales Process consistent with the AECI Mining strategy and objectives.
    • Differentiate AECI MINING service and products by identifying and implementing value adding activities beneficial to all customers (including non-business customers such as CIE and IOM and AECI Mining.
    • Set and implement KAMP’s to ensure achievement of the market and sales objectives.
    • Establish long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers on individual mines.
    • Provide excellent service on all aspects of explosive and accessory products and their uses, including auditing of product application and performance underground and giving recommendations to correct deficiencies. Complaints from customers need to be handled swiftly and competently to their satisfaction.
    • Determine and prepare the product sales budget, and in conjunction with the Regional Manager decide the appropriate product mix to achieve maximum trading product, market share and other business parameters. Achievement to be measured by means of the balance scoreboard and market share.
    • Compile the annual operating cost budget and submit it to Regional Manager for approval. Monitors cost monthly through balanced scoreboard and ensure operation within agreed budget and justification for over expenditure.
    • Ensure compliance with AECI Mining Safe Working Practices, the OSH Act, the Explosives Act and the Minerals Act.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Tertiary mining qualification, e.g. B.Sc. Mining Engineering or National Higher Diploma and a Mine Overseers or Managers Certificate.
    • Must have completed the Explosives Engineer course
    • Must have technical experience of at least three years in a mining environment
    • Computer literate
    • The incumbent must be able to pass in-house courses on SPIN, Presentation Skills, Negotiation Profitable Partnerships, Letter Writing Skills and Persuasive Presentation Skills

    Job Description

    • To operate, manage and maintain all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit in order to meet the customers’ requirements within the standards and procedures as defined by AECI.

    Required outputs: functional

    • Managing and operating all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit (MMU) in order to meet the customer requirements with the standards and procedures as defined by AECI.
    • Carry out regular inspections in terms of SABS and World Class on fixed plant and MMU to identify non-conformances and institute preventative measures as well as to achieve continuous improvement.
    • Assist in eliminating all sources of waste and controlling of operating costs within the budgeted parameters.
    • Assist in ensuring that the region delivers on financial requirements as agreed within the annual budget.
    • Assist in closing or stemming of charged holes.
    • Complete minor maintenance on MMU when required.
    • Ensure Quality products are supplied.
    • To maintain vehicle records in the MMU’s.
    • To ensure MMU’s are submitted for services according to maintenance schedules.
    • To ensure monthly maintenance is carried out according to World Class standard.
    • To ensure MMU is kept clean at all times.
    • To assist FSS in ensuring MMU licensing and roadworthiness are always up to date.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Valid Code EC Drivers Licence is essential (please attach a copy of your driver’s licence to your application).
