    Manager: Sales and Delivery Coordination

    Job description

    • Strategic Alignment. Participate in the development and implementation of the overall sales and delivery strategy to enable achievement of required ATNS revenue targets and objectives. Analyse trends and metrics in collaboration with the Head: Business Development to determine sales and delivery performance gaps and improvement opportunities. Develop sales and delivery policies and processes to enable effective governance. Analyse relevant data, trends, and patterns, and identify opportunities for increasing revenue and improving sales and delivery processes. Manage strategic projects as necessary for the accomplishments of the ATNS' strategic goals. Drive the Business Development activities in line with the company’s identified and mandatory Objectives and Key Performance Indicators. Support the execution and operationalisation of signed MoUs and Contracts. Support and facilitate the ATNS agenda in regional structures such as SADC-CAC, AFCAC (for the Single Air Transport Market for Africa project), and ICAO (for all ICAO-ESAF regional projects.
    •  Sales. Devise strategies to promote and sell products and services to customers in order to meet sales targets. Identify and contact current or potential clients, pitch products or services, and close deals. Negotiate terms of sales and agreements, and close deals with customers. Maintain relationships with existing clients and provide ongoing support. Achieve growth and sales targets by managing sales team activities and performance. Develop and implement a business plan that expands the organisation’s customer base. Track and analyse sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics. Set and track sales targets and report on results. Manage customers’ accounts to meet planned sales goals and ensure customer satisfaction.     •  Coordinate with Marketing on lead generation. Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.     •  Sales Delivery. Develop, implement and manage an efficient system for delivery of products / services to enable quick delivery to the client. Track delivery of products to ensure efficient delivery to the client. Plan and coordinate product delivery activities to ensure accurate and timely deliveries to customers. Continuously monitor and evaluate delivery processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Liaise with customers to confirm project delivery milestones.  Respond to delivery-related inquiries and concerns from customers. Make adjustments as requested by customers where possible. Notify customers about any delivery delays in advance. Schedule deliveries and prepare delivery documentation. Work in compliance with relevant regulations and legislation. Provide any outstanding services as per agreement/contract. Track the status of product deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
    •  Governance, Compliance, Risk and Reporting. Develop, implement and manage a robust governance framework for the division. Investigate any reported incidents of violation to enhance effectiveness of the processes and mitigate any risks. Identification, documentation, and management of key contractual/commercial risks throughout project cycle. Proactively identify any risks facing the function/ department and develop and implement effective risks mitigation plans and actions. Prepare ad hoc reports as required to enable business decision making. Continuously monitor and measure compliance to all policies and procedures within the department. Prepare reports on Sales and Delivery for Head of Business Development, Chief Customer Solutions Officer, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure that all sales activities comply with all ATNS risk management requirements.
    •  Stakeholder Relations Management. Develop and maintain sound relationships with customers and other key stakeholders. Identify customer needs and oversee service delivery. Build partnerships and liaise with team leaders to determine the company's services, delivery criteria, and solutions for issues that may arise. Generate and leverage a network of private and public sector contacts relevant to ATNS market penetration in the continent and surrounding geographic regions. Participate, as required, in various industry events to raise the profile of ATNS and generate leads.
    •  Financial Management. Provide input into the development of the Business Development budget. Manage delegated expenditure in line with business objectives and priorities, and within approved financial parameters. Report expenditure including any possible deviations to the budget monthly. Ensure compliance with the PFMA and ATNS Finance policy and Delegation of Authority. Provide the required supporting documents to enable effective auditing processes.  Develop pricing models for products and services. Develop and monitor new business revenue budgets from key revenue drivers

    Minimum Qualifications

    •  B-degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Commerce, Business Management or related field.

     Minimum Experience

    • At least 6 years’ experience in product sales and delivery in a complex environment, 3 of which should have been in junior management role/ level. Six or more years of experience in managing the delivery of sales in a corporate setting.

    Head Knowledge Management

    Job description

    • Knowledge Management- Identify Knowledge Management initiatives, programs and activities in alignment with business requirements and strategic objectives.  Design and implement a Knowledge Management strategy and implementation plan – creating a comprehensive Knowledge Management strategy in line with the Business Services division – organization’s strategy. Design, develop and implement Knowledge Management repositories that enable all employees to have access to information and knowledge. Take overall responsibility for the Knowledge Management toolset by determining related technology and tools needed for Knowledge Management and the implementation thereof. Responsible for embedding and sustaining a business culture that creates, shares and leverages strategic information and knowledge assets to support decision-making.
    • Manage Human Resource planning, development and performance, as well as timely execution of Knowledge Management functions: Knowledge Management function, Records Management function, Information Resources function, ensure that all Knowledge Management functions submit plans and monthly reports for approval – to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of IKM in the organization. Participate in strategy design, formulation, implementation, and review of ATNS Business Services.

    •  Financial Management - Develop and manage Knowledge Management Opex budget – in line with the Business Services division – Org strategy.     Corporate Social Investment Officer (CSIO)

    Job description

    • CSI strategy development and implementation. Responsible for developing the organisation’s corporate social investment strategy. Identify internal and external programs to be implemented. Prepare an annual CSI action plan for ATNS. Collaborate with the various functions to ensure proper implementation of programs and identify ways to enhance the process if needed. Managing the funding application process together with the CSI Committee. Visiting the projects to ensure that the funds provided are effectively expended and verified the existence of projects (risk mitigation).     Engineering Technician - FAEL Re-advertisement

    Job description

    • Preventive Maintenance (ATNS CNS Equipment and services):  Perform all relevant maintenance activities on equipment and systems as per the relevant LSP, station instructions and equipment manufacturer recommendations.  Ensure that maintenance to buildings at the sites, the site itself such as roads, grass cutting, fencing, antenna masts, terrestrial communications and power from point of supply is maintained to ATNS standards.  Compliance to SLA’s  Ensure that the relevant equipment competences are attained as per station requirements and the appropriate Skills Matrix grading.
    • Corrective Maintenance (ATNS CNS Equipment and services): Perform “I” Level corrective fault diagnosis down to module (LRU) level.  Perform “I” Level corrective maintenance through module (LRU) replacement.  Perform “O” Level restoration of service by reconfiguration and/or changeover by means of supervisor positions and remote control, monitoring and maintenance systems. (RCMMS)  Perform “D” Level corrective maintenance where applicable as per ATNS support policy.  Compliance within SLA’s.
    • System Performance Analysis: “O” Level system performance and analysis by means of supervisor positions and remote control, monitoring and maintenance systems (RCMMS).  ”I” Level system performance and analysis through the use of specialized test, monitoring and B.I.T.E equipment.  Performance analysis using the relevant MMIS and other Computer Based Maintenance Management Systems (CBMMS).  Work within the SLA framework. 
    • Maintenance Support:  Draft useful, informative and concise technical reports on systems and equipment as requested and proactively when the need arises.  Capture all relevant data on the CBMMS.  Compliance with RT procedures.  Compliance with Airport Regulations.  Understand the impact of equipment availability on the national ATM service delivery.

    Charting Specialist

    Major Activities

    • Aeronautical Charting - Produce detailed Aeronautical Charts accompanied by tabulation pages, textual descriptions, and supplementary information for submission to the SACAA or external clients. Produce charts for publication in accordance with ICAO SARPS (Standards and Recommended Practices) to ensure the safe operation of aircraft. Design and maintain charts for Instrument Approach Flight Procedures, SID, STAR, Enroute and Aerodromes for the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package as per ICAO Annex 4, Annex 15, including ICAO DOC 8168 Vol II and ICAO DOC 9906 criteria. Design and maintain Radar Terrain Charts. Share Aeronautical Charts Data in AIXM format. Maintain RSA Instrument Flight Procedure, SID, STAR and Enroute and Aerodromes charts on the Cartography Database. Maintain current RSA published Topographical/Aeronautical Maps database as per AP020. Liaise and consult with clients regarding the development of aeronautical charts. Conduct research into new technology, Instrument Flight Procedure developments and Aeronautical Charting advancements. Design and maintain aeronautical charts to meet Dept of Transport KPIs which include draft charts during design phase, up to and including the final chart version for publication in the Integrated Aeronautical Information Publication (IAIP). Update Cartography Database using AIXM snapshots from CAD and AeroDB Database as per SLA. Maintain Aeronautical Supplementary Database (ASD) on the Cartography Database e.g. Digital Terrain Model (DTM) raster/format, and Contours Vector Terrain data. Maintain aeronautical charts in the Integrated Aeronautical Information Publication (IAIP) in compliance with Part 177 CATS. Implement NOTAM and Supplement chart amendments procedural and non-procedural from AIS office daily reports. Review initial and final draft charts (peer review). Remain knowledgeable with respect to all ICAO developments in flight procedure design and AIM.
    • AIM consulting and client interaction - Communicate charting services available to potential and existing clients as per AP020.Provide a charting design consultation service to clients when required. Provide specialist technical advice regarding Aeronautical Charts in accordance with ICAO requirements. Liaise with clients on chart design requirements and specifications
    • Geographic Information Systems and Terrain data - Compile maps for internal and external clients. Create Locality Maps, Topographical Maps, Navigational/Thematic Maps for situational awareness purposes. Convert tabular data to map format. Perform DTM acquisition and request accuracy/validity certificate from service providers. Analyze radar terrain chart sectors. Conduct spatial and attribute data analysis, interpretation, capturing, integration, and manipulation. Regularly import Aerodrome Mapping Data on the (ASD) from the source to Cartography Database. Conduct regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place. Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly. Generate reports for management or stakeholders as required. Implement access controls to secure data from unauthorized access
    • Governance, Compliance, and General duties - Ensure maintenance of Records Management of the Charting Office and all documents as per ISO, legislative, and ATNS filing system requirements. Ensure compliance with ICAO Recommended Practices (SARPS) and the Manual of Procedures & Standards (MOPS). Maintain relevant QA standards in compliance with ISO 9001/2000 Continually update and develop the Aeronautical Cartography Manual of Standards in line with the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) Provide input into budgeting, training and human resources requirements. Conduct Centralised Aeronautical Database charting training for identified personnel and clients.Assist in any additional tasks as may be required from time to time within the area of responsibility.

    Minimum requirements

    • Tertiary qualification in GIS/Geospatial and Cartography
    • Completion of the ICAO accredited Aeronautical Cartography course
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience of which 2 years in aviation operations and 2 years in aeronautical cartography
    • In lieu of experience in aviation operations, candidate should have undergone an apprenticeship that constitutes a minimum of two years on-the-job training in aeronautical cartography
    • Experience in data management and utilisation of data is required
    • Demonstrable proficiency in the use of ArcGIS software
    •  Proficiency in database systems, data modelling, and analysis is required

    Systems Engineer: Planning (Re-advertisement)

    Job description

    KEY TECHNICAL AND TACTICAL PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Compile technical functional specifications for CNS systems and equipment in area of expertise for procurement purposes under the guidance of a Senior Systems Engineer. Develop tender documents, acquisition and implementation documentation under the guidance of a Senior Systems Engineer. Participate in contract negotiation sessions with bidders and contractors. Participate in site acceptance and commissioning tests of new CNS systems and equipment to ensure that specified requirements are met under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Participate in the establishment of the Bid Specification Committee and the Bid Evaluation Committee. Evaluate change requests that will have a material impact on the performance or operation of deployed systems, as a member of the configuration management team environment, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Develop and maintain planning and prediction models. Prepare relevant plans, processes, procedures, business cases and safety cases for introducing new technologies into the operational environment. Make presentations to management on the recommended research approach to be followed, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Conduct research of ATM/CNS technologies in the global environment, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer
    • Make presentations to ATNS and third parties on research and development project outcome. Attend seminars, conferences, workshops, etc. on related matters. Establish benefit levers for projects in alignment with business needs and requirements and ensure that the project prioritisation process is followed. Participate in seminars, conferences, workshops on related topics. Ensure that projects have project plans in line with the corporate project management framework. Identify plans, processes, and procedures for ensuring that planning for relevant safety cases for introducing new technologies into the operational environment, under the guidance.

     PERFORMANCE QUALITY

    •  Participate in site acceptance and commissioning tests of new CNS systems and equipment to ensure performance requirements as specified are met. Support the Senior Systems Engineer in managing the quality and performance of CNS systems and the implementation of CNS projects

     CNS and ATM Systems Planning

    • Participate in the preparation of the ATNS CAPEX plan using your area of expertise and inputs from other ATNS departments as regards ATM operational needs, equipment obsolescence and research and development outputs. Participate on an ad-hoc basis in the preparation of the ATNS submissions to the ATNS Regulating Committee. Participate in ATNS user consultation meetings
    • Review ITU-T agenda items and provide input to ICAO specifications. Develop an understanding of the ATM community and the CNS and ATM technology needs.

     Governance,  Compliance and Risk Management

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant policies, processes and control measures to enable effective management and execution of required deliverables
    • Identify risks associated with technology projects and establish effective mitigation. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies and processes. Support and ensure compliance with the ATNS Quality Management System. Prepare and submit reports to meetings as required under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Make submissions for approval to the appropriate authorising authority under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Prepare ad hoc reports as required by clients and management under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Attend required departmental and company meetings.

     Stakeholder Relations Management

    • Develop and maintain sound relationships with all key stakeholders to support ongoing collaboration and alignment. Interact with various levels within the organisation on technology and project-related activities. Interact with various levels within the organisation on technology and project-related planning activities. Build internal partnerships through interaction with multiple departments within ATNS. Provide recommendations when required for the prevention of problems that have occurred in one area from occurring in another by proactively identifying the cause and promoting preventative action.

     Financial Management

    • Provide inputs into the budget development process. Manage delegated expenditure in line with business needs and priorities, and within set financial parameters. Report expenditure including any possible deviations to the budget on a monthly basis. Ensure compliance with ATNS Finance policy and Delegation of Authority. Ensure efficient utilisation of the approved budget. Manage costs involved while maintaining quality of service. Compile and provide required reports on utilisation of the budget. Identify and prevent irregular and fruitless and wasteful expenditure. Provide the required supporting documents to enable effective auditing processes.

    Minimum requirements

    Formal Qualifications

    •  BSc or BEng Degree in Electronic / Electrical/ Computer Engineering
    • Professional Engineer registration with ECSA or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer and Systems Engineer Professional
    • Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA

     Experience

    • Minimum three years post-qualification experience in electrical/electronic engineering
    • Sound understanding of CNS/ATM technologies
    • Sound knowledge of International Civil Aviation Organisation Standards and Recommended Practices as applied to communication, navigation or surveillance systems
    • Experience in, and in-depth knowledge of planning, specifying, acquiring and implementing engineering projects
    • Understanding of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, especially related to Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Systems
