    QA Auditor (JHB)

    Description

    • Perform quality audits, investigations and inspections, in line with the Quality Assurance System;
    • Identify and record any concerns or findings, and the evidence necessary to substantiate such issues;
    • Ensure the corrective action plan provided by the auditee is acceptable;
    • Ensure the provided Root Cause analysis addresses the findings thoroughly;
    • Identify and recommend solutions to risks or findings through designated reporting channels;
    • Verify the implementation of solutions within specific timelines;
    • Ensure effective implementation of the corrective action plan within specific timelines;
    • Ensure that the IQSMS Quality Module is maintained;
    • Liaise and accompany the SACAA and 3rd Party Auditors during audits and inspections (AOC, AMC);
    • Assist with the reviewing of process owners manuals;
    • Periodic dissemination of quality related information to Operational Training and Maintenance personnel;
    • Assist with the coordination of new route applications;
    • Attend all relevant meetings including but not limited to Quality Assurance;
    • Assist with Authorising and issuing Company;
    • Authorisations for the Technical department;
    • Identify gaps in FlySafair departmental quality control processes and make recommendations;
    • Execute ad-hoc duties assigned by the Quality Manager;
    • Keep updated with industry changes, regulations and continuously develop skills to stay effective in the role;
    • Assist and compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on QA activities in the organisation.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Quality Auditor and Lead Auditors Certification (including Root Cause Analysis Training) (Essential);
    • Degree/Diploma in Quality Management (Advantageous);
    • Safety Management Systems training (Advantageous);
    • 5 years' experience Auditing and in the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System in Aviation;
    • IOSA Auditor;
    • Technical experience in Aviation (Advantageous);
    • Experience working on a Safety Management System.

    First Officer

    Description

    Operations:

    • Ensure safety of flight in a timely manner;
    • Monitor the flight path and systems of the aircraft;
    • Perform checks and procedures before, during and after each flight;
    • Communicate with internal departments, external service providers and passengers;
    • Navigate and operate the flight;
    • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies and procedures;
    • Uphold the company core competitive edge (i.e., excellent customer service);
    • Submit accurate and complete legal administrative documentation;
    • In the event of the incapacitation of the Captain, the First Officer will assume command;

    The First Officer must take all reasonable steps to: 

    • Stay updated with the applicable SACAA and international aviation laws, and company Operation manual/s;
    • Maintain familiarity with such provisions of the company Operations Manual as are necessary to fulfil the required function;
    • Assist the Captain as requested concerning operational and administrative duties in relation to the flight;
    • Assist the Captain in upholding a high standard of crew discipline, behaviour, and personal appearance;

    The First Officer shall:

    • Carry out such duties concerning the flight, in accordance with FlySafair Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations and performance relating to the specific aircraft type;
    • Furthermore, the Captain can allocate any additional duties as required;
    • Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft and its safe terrain clearance;
    • Volunteer such advice, information and assistance to the Captain as may contribute favorably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight;
    • Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of the Company;
    • Support the Captain in the development and maintenance of a high standard of professional expertise and morale amongst the crew;
    • Ensure compliance with the companies operations manual at all times.

    Pre-Flight:

    • The First Officer must be fully aware of the planned flight route, contents of briefing sheets, and the forecast with conditions and runway states at the destination and alternate aerodromes;
    • Perform all checks outlined in the Operations Manual and fill out all required documents accordingly;
    • Work collaboratively with the Captain to review all documents and information necessary to make an informed decision regarding fuel selection, alternates, and any restrictions that may be present on the flight;

    In-Flight:

    • Perform or monitor the execution of all normal, abnormal and emergency checklists in the manner specified in the Operations;
    • Manual and ensure that they are all properly completed;
    • Monitor all aspects of the flight, checking that correct procedures and techniques are used, crosschecking all flight instrument indications, especially altitude/height, speed and heading, and advising the Captain immediately If the aircraft deviates from the planned flight path, or if the pilot observes the onset of a hazardous situation, or if any abnormal instrument reading, warning light, or indicator is detected;
    • Conduct R/T communications as and when required;

    Post-Flight:

    • Ensure all post-flight procedures are completed as per the OM and FCOM;
    • Submit all relevant documentation and/ or reports i.e. IQSMS.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • SACAA Commercial (Essential);
    • SACAA ATPL (Preferred);
    • Class 1 SACAA Medical (Essential);
    • Type rated on Boeing (Advantageous);
    • Experience on Commercial Jets over 20 Tons (Advantageous);
    • Non-Type Rated or Boeing Type rated with a minimum of 1500 Hours, of which shall include 500 hours Multi-Turbine time (Essential);
    • Multi Crew experience (Essential);
    • No existing medical conditions;
    • Willing to sign applicable training bond/s;
    • No criminal record;
    • Willing to undergo a drug and alcohol test;
    • Own transport and RSA Driver’s License;
    • SA Citizen with proof of identity;
    • Willing to undergo Psychometric assessments;
    • Valid RSA Passport;
    • Must be willing to work irregular hours on a roster;
    • Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of National Aviation regulations such as SACAA, ICAO;
    • Knowledge of Doc 8186 (Essential);
    • Knowledge of Commercial and Airline Transport Pilots licensing content.

    Creditors Clerk (JHB)

    Description

    • Receive, sort, distribute and file invoices;
    • Capture all invoices (Local & foreign);
    • Prepare Local & Foreign Supplier reconciliations;
    • Work closely with the Logistics department and suppliers;
    • Pay suppliers as per the agreement terms;
    • Responsible for clearing old queries and open payments;
    • Assist with month-end and year-end close-off procedures;
    • Provide auditors with information required for year-end audit;
    • Create new Creditors Accounts as and when required;
    • Post payments against Creditors accounts;
    • Handle all ad hoc queries from Suppliers and management.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;

    Senior Continued Airworthiness Specialist (JHB)

    Description

    • Ensure that the work-pack is accurate prior to handing over to the AMO to ensure it is aligned with the aircraft Status report of due items/tasks as per the maintenance programme;
    • Ensure that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component of FlySafair’s aircrafts before released to service; - Perform quality technical inspections of aircraft, components parts, and systems;
    • Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling used for aircraft maintenance, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in the Manuals;
    • Perform in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair modification, rework and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and components parts, and assumes responsibility and final sign-off;
    • Conduct routine Aircraft Ramp Inspections;
    • Maintain all oversite compliance records required by the operator;
    • Evaluate service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and manufacturers' recommendations;
    • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and airworthiness standards;
    • Investigate technical defects, failures, and reliability issues, implementing corrective actions; 
    • Prepare and consolidate weekly and monthly reports for managerial review;
    • Guide, mentor, and review the work of Airworthiness Specialists providing constructive feedback and delegating tasks effectively;
    • Encourage, promote, and embody a spirit of teamwork;
    • Assess and optimise the performance of direct reports;
    • Guide, support and develop direct reports;
    • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, MROs (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), and internal teams.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Trade certificate as Aircraft Technician (Essential);
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licences (AME); with B737- 400 and B737-800 rating (Essential);
    • Engineering degree in Aeronautics, Electrical, Mechanical or Avionics or other relevant studies (Advantageous);
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an AME of which 2 years’ must have been Supervisory experience (Essential);
    • Must have worked directly with the SACAA for at least 3 years’ (Essential).

    Continued Airworthiness Specialist (JHB)

    Description

    • Check the work-pack prior to handling over to the AMO to ensure it is aligned with the aircraft status report of due items / tacks as per SAM;
    • Ensure that no detective or un-worthy parts are installed in any component of FlySafair’s aircraft before released to service;
    • Inspect and accept all incoming material, i.e. new parts, supplies and repaired parts from contract service;
    • Perform quality technical inspections of aircraft, components parts, and systems;
    • Ensure proper tagging and identification of all parts;
    • Perform quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tooling used for aircraft maintenance, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in the manuals;
    • Perform in-progress and quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair modification, rework and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and components parts, and assumes responsibility and final sign-off;
    • Inspect job progress, procedures, and maintenance forms used in performance of aircraft maintenance work to ensure compliance with approved methods, data, procedures, and regulatory requirements;
    • Inspect all incoming parts to ensure they carry approved documentation and certification;
    • Conduct routine Aircraft Ramp Inspections;
    • Ensure the accuracy and proper maintenance of the aircraft document library;
    • Ensure proper procedures are performed on all completed work before it is released to service;
    • Complete all inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required before authorised release;
    • Responsible for ensuring completion of required inspections and maintaining files of completed work orders and inspection forms in an efficient system;
    • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and airworthiness standards;
    • Write up discrepancies in accordance with procedures and submit reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions as per Safair procedures.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Trade certificate as Aircraft Technician (Essential);
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licences (AME); with B737- 400 and B737-800 rating (Essential);
    • Engineering degree in Aeronautics, Electrical, Mechanical or Avionics or other relevant studies (Advantageous);

    Creditors Clerk Assistant (JHB)

    Description

    • Verify the accuracy of data from designated sources before entering it into the system;
    • Locate and correct any visible data errors by confirming its integrity with supervisors;
    • Capture information into the financial system/s as required and double-check the information to ensure accuracy;
    • General finance duties including filing and reconciliations.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Basic knowledge of accounts payable and receivable;
