    Financial Compliance Specialist

    • Reporting to and supporting the Copper Africa Financial Compliance Controller, this role is responsible for support in executing all activities and deliverables within the Financial Compliance function for Copper Africa. 
    • The Financial Compliance Specialist is responsible for the design assessment, documentation, testing, monitoring, and reporting of internal controls supporting compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code Provision 29.
    • The role will help ensure that the organisation maintains effective, documented and auditable processes. The role will interact closely with Legal, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit and business stakeholders across the Group.
    • The incumbent in this role further supports the Financial Compliance reporting in the review, development and implementation of best practice policies and controls to establish a robust control environment governing finance and related functions providing guidance to and support to finance teams and the implementation of the Copper Africa Finance operating model and objectives.
    • The position requires strong knowledge of financial compliance, internal controls and testing methodologies.

    PRIMARY TASKS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Primary responsibility to support the Compliance Controller in executing their responsibilities around financial governance, risk management and control implementation across the applicable finance functions in the Copper Africa region.
    • Review, develop and implement best practice policies and controls to establish a robust control environment governing finance and related functions
    • Review and maintenance of Risk and Control Matrixes (RACM) in line with UKCR requirements, including training, reporting and recommendations on relevant controls
    • Execute control monitoring and testing programs across financial and non-financial control environments.
    • Support regional risk assessment for all relevant processes, including review and implementation of control measures and alignment with Global requirements
    • Perform system reviews of relevant DOA’s in line with Global policies, regional requirements and organisational design, including access reviews
    • Support the development and implementation of a regional document control policy (through new or existing applications and systems), including but not limited to access to policies and procedures, document retention, statutory filings, historical information, etc.
    • Coordinate a regional training program around UKCR risk and controls to ensure compliance and awareness of relevant business controls
    • Support internal- and external audit queries, escalations and discussions around UKCR controls testing
    • Provide guidance to- and support finance teams to execute on their accountability
    • Support implementation of Copper Africa Finance operating model and objectives

    • Copper Africa Finance and commercial teams (Regional and site-based teams)
    • Copper Africa Operations teams (Regional and site-based teams)

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Post-Graduate Degree in Commerce of Accounting
    • CA(SA)

    WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3 to 5 years’ relevant post-article work experience, preferably in the mining/natural resources industry
    • Prior exposure to Compliance, ICFR, SOX (or similar control environment), Reporting, Planning, Operational finance and support services functions
    • Demonstrated prior SOX exposure in a robust control environment
    • Prior SAP, Coupa and/or Oracle experience beneficial
    • Excel (Advanced) and Power BI

    Finance Lead - Copper

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Reporting to and supporting the Copper Africa CFO in executing thier key responsibilites, building strong relationships with team members across the organisation to influence outcomes, facilitate change and maintain momentum on strategic initiatives.  General activities include partnering with regional finance and commercial functions, leading Business Analysis and Planning (BAP), Financial Reporting and Financial Compliance functions for the region and ensuring alignment and collaboration with Global support functions. The incumbent in this role further needs to support and inform decision making through establishing business routines and in-depth analysis and problem solving, along with playing a key role in designing and implementing strategic finance projects.

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Primary responsibility to support the Copper Africa CFO in executing their key responsibilities, building strong relationships with team members across the organisation to influence outcomes, facilitate change and maintain momentum on strategic initiatives
    • Partnering with various regional finance and commercial functions reporting to the CFO (Tax, Treasury, Finance, Commercial) to support the execution of activities and deliverables
    • Lead and ensure successful execution of Business Analysis and Planning, Financial Reporting and Compliance functions within the Copper Africa region
    • Ensure alignment between various regional finance and commercial functions as well as effective collaboration with Global support service function (Business Analysis and Planning, Financial Reporting, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Transaction Services)
    • Support and inform decision making across multiple finance, commercial and operational functions through implementation of business routines for recurring business events and providing in depth analysis with simplified outcomes for non-recurring business events
    • Establish a regional finance team that serves as a business partner to multiple regional support functions and corporate stakeholders
    • Design, implement and/or support strategic and Group finance projects
    • Serve as regional representative for finance as part of business routines, projects and other initiatives
    • Provide guidance to- and support finance teams to execute on their accountabilities
    • Support implementation of Copper Africa Finance operating model and objectives

    Controller (Stores) Senior

    In this role you will be responsible for:

    • Managing warehouse receiving, issuing, storage and stocktaking activities.
    • Ensuring stock availability, security and accurate stock control.
    • Conducting Material Requirements Planning and monitoring stock levels, cycle counts and variances.
    • Controlling purchase orders, delivery documentation and vendor performance.
    • Maintaining accurate materials management records and compiling monthly and ad-hoc reports.

    About you:

    • Valid driver’s licence and own transport, with ability to perform standby duties.

    Clerk (Creditors) Fixed Term

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 with Accounting

     SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

    • 2 Years’ creditors’ experience
    • SAP creditors processing proficiency will be advantageous.
