Responsibilities

1) Effective B-BBBEE & EE reporting and administration:

• Effectively to effectively coordinate activities for the BBBEE Audits of the company and to ensure the BBBEE targets are met.
• The Incumbent will also be required to assist with the preparation of the Employment Equity (EE) plan and ensure compliance as prescribed by the relevant Acts.
• Assist with the collation of all documentation and data for BBBEE reporting.
• Assist with the collation of all Employment Equity statistics for quarterly and annual reporting.
• Take accurate minutes in EE meetings and ensure effective distribution of action points.
• Follow up where required and provide necessary support to the committee.

2) Effective SD&L reporting and administration:

• Assist with implementation of SD&L obligations on projects.
• Collate data Procurement and Skills development data for projects.
• Coordinate CSI initiatives.
• Liaise with CSI beneficiaries and track progress.
• Assist with quarterly SD&L reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric
• B Degree or Diploma in HR and or Administration
• 2 years’ experience/ Analyst in an Admin role
• Microsoft Office
• Project management implementation

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Design development of Roads, Storm water and Sewer reticulation systems;
• Design development of structures (concrete and/or steel);
• Provide necessary inputs to tenders/proposals by technical write ups, concept designs, cost estimations and ensuring all procedures and standards are adhered to and met,
• Mentoring of junior engineers in the design engineering department;
• Understanding and interpretation of relevant codes and standards;
• Ensure that all designs are produced to the required standard and productivity expectations are met within schedule;
• Conduct design reviews of concepts and drawings;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university;
• Registered Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA;
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in relevant (roads, storm water, sewer reticulation) Design field; ideally with some Site experience;
• Experience in structural design (concrete and/or steel) is advantageous;
• Working experience with AUTOCAD, Civil Designer, Civil 3D, Prokon, Strand 7 and Structural design software;
• A good understanding in interpreting geotechnical investigation and EIA reports;

• Identifying new business and/ or project Tender opportunities and summarizing RFP documents for Go/No Go meetings,
• Project managing the proposals execution process according to procedure
• Proposal Close out (Wash up meetings, lessons learnt, archiving important documents)
• Responding to Client clarifications for submitted proposals

 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in an Engineering field
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
• Project management qualification is advantageous
• Experience in Project Management
• Experience in compiling proposals
• Experience in the Power Generation Industry
• Experience with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
• Cost Engineering/Estimating capability is advantageous

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Set up a site inspection/audit programme, for site activities for subcontractors.
• Ensure that subcontractor documentation is fully compliant with the specification requirements.
• Monitor CA/PA in all areas to ensure a culture of CI is maintained.
• Monitor and control the inputs of subcontractors in the areas such as welding, ensure that repair registers are up to date and accurate.
• Review and input to subcontractor`s documentation by inserting hold and witness points, monitor and control incoming goods for compliance to requirements.
• Review submitted documentation for accuracy to the standard for compliance to the client`s requirements.
• Ensure non-compliant suppliers are dealt with timeously.
• Review codes and standards and apply them across site activities.
• Carry out training of younger staff to improve experience levels.
• Maintain by audit and limit the risk of poor suppliers getting onto site.
• Ensure that points are not bypassed, and that all inputs to QCP are reviewed and adequate and approved.
• Detailed review of the contents of the QADP for acceptance.
• Proactive approach to obtain information regarding activity status in order to update project plans
• Inform project team members, clients and contractors of project status

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Quality Control background with an ability to reach a minimum of N5.
• SAIW level 2 inspector certificate with 5 years` experience.
• Level 1 inspection / corrosion protection would be advantageous.
• Auditor/Lead auditor 9001.
• 5 years` related experience in QA/Welding environment.
• Knowledge of Codes, Standards and Welding Processes.
• Conventional Power Plant operation a plus.
• Minimum 4 years QA/QC experience
• Experience in managing subcontractors and teams
• Must be familiar with establishing of weld procedures.
• Must be familiar with NDT processes.
• NDT Level 1&2 would be advantageous

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure the complete design process is followed and designs are produced on time.
• Provide input to tender / enquiries & development of design concept including estimation of workload.
• Compile and review industrial designs through all phases of design development (concept, basic and detailed design).
• Perform and review thermal hydraulic system-based analyses
• Generate and review P&IDs
• Sizing of equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, compressors etc.)
• 3-D Model reviews plant and piping systems
• Development of design reports
• Select and qualify material for piping systems
• Generate and review pipeline lists, valve lists and equipment lists
• Generate and review Procurement Technical Specifications
• Adjudicate supplier offers
• Interface with other Engineering Disciplines (Electrical, C&I, Civil and Structural)
• Interface with Project team members, e.g. Project Engineers and Managers, QA, procurement etc.
• Ensure that assigned designs are technically correct and in accordance with the appropriate codes and standards.
• Generate testing and commissioning specifications
• Perform site inspections and signoffs
• Provide inputs into planning and ensure that the team works according to the plan.
• Ensure scope control on allocated designs in accordance with the requirements of the project.
• Commission systems after construction completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the client and internal relationships.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor degree: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years post qualification industrial plant design experience.
• Power Generation industry experience would be ideal.
• Site related experience beneficial.
