Job description

A new opportunity has arisen for a CA(SA) to join the team in Bryanston, Gauteng. Immediate starters as the position needs to be filled in the next week for handover. Contractual role between August and February.

This is an office based job from 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday, with possible overtime during month end and budget periods (November – January).

2-5 years corporate accounting experience required, with previous Big 4 article experience.

Key competencies:

• Advanced MS Excel a must- all reporting done on Excel, so this is a must.
• Logical thinker- can think a few steps ahead (big picture- vital during budget preparation)
• Can work independently but be part of a team
• Very strong accounting knowledge
• Intermediate tax and VAT knowledge
• Good planner
• Good administrative skills- this role is quite process driven, adhering to set processes a must
• Multitasking a must
• Deadline driven- we have strict, short deadlines at month end and budget time

Areas to be covered:

• Management of entire capex process, from opening of project to movement to Fixed Asset register and depreciation- working with capex committee to support projects
• Update and manage capex and fixed asset registers
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting of journals
• Ad-hoc asset related queries for the business
• Wear and Tear allowances on fixed assets
• Management reporting on capex and fixed assets
• General financial support and ad-hoc tasks
• Capex and depreciation budget for the company
• Capital expenditure cash flow forecasts

The main function of this role is complete management of the property, plant and equipment balance sheet line and all processes associated with it.
