    Millwright - Pretoria West

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Millwright  to join our Baking Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and reports to the Maintenance Manager. 

    Minimum Requirements    
    Qualifications and experience 

    • Millwright Trade
    • 3 or more years of post-trade experience 
    • PLC/VSD Drives experience
    • Experience with panel wiring 
    • Ability to prioritize workload 
    • Report writing and analysis on job
    • Mentoring apprentices 
    • Must be able to work shifts and be available on callouts and standby 
    • Driver’s license with own transport 
    • Hands on experience with installation, maintenance and repairs of machinery such as mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, slicers and packaging equipment.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines do not
    • Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
    • Be able to comply with Food Safety
    • Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam and
    • Ensure that your department complies with all Health and Safety
    • Diagnose and correct mechanical
    • Inspect, operate,   and   test   machinery   and equipment to diagnose machine
    • Direct and train workers to install, maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.

    Electrician - Pretoria West

    • RCL FOODS is seeking Electrician to join our Baking  Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West   and reports to the Maintenance Manager.  

    Purpose of the role: 

    • Responsible for maintaining or constructing industrial machinery.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Must have an N3, in Electrical engineering
    • Qualified Electrician

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • To ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance to all Electrical equipment.
    • To be pro-active in identifying potential faults/breakdowns before they occur.
    • To ensure that all breakdowns are attended to in a cost-effective/ fastest manner possible
    • To ensure the continued good conditioning of all equipment in the Production Facilities.
    • To ensure that the necessary spare equipment/ instruments are maintained in the maintenance D-store.
    • To ensure and prevent come back or repeated failures and breakdowns.
    • To implement preventative actions and maintenance to reduce breakdowns.
    • Installation, Maintenance, Service and repair of electrical/ Electronic networks and equipment within the production facilities.
    • Advanced Fault finding on electrical circuits.
    • Ensuring machine availability through minimizing of downtime.
    • Attending to breakdowns, fault findings and rectification.
    • Planned and preventative maintenance on all electrical installations/ equipment.
    • To ensure that all MV and LV Substations are maintained and kept in order with SANS standards.
    • To ensure that SANS 10142 wiring regulations are adhered to always.
    • To ensure that SANS 10108 hazardous location regulations are adhered to always.
    • To ensure compliance to the work permit/ lockout system in use at RCL Foods Consumer division.
    • To ensure compliance to all safety policies of the company and safety regulations.
    • To ensure all Safety devices on all equipment to be in place and working 100% always.
    • Knowledge and compliance with SHEQ legislation and regulations.
    • Adhere to food safety, occupational health and safety, environmental and other risk management requirements standards as per OHS Act, COID Act.
    • To ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance to all instrumentation equipment.

    • To ensure that all breakdowns are attended to in a cost-effective/ fastest manner possible.
    • To ensure the continued good condition of all equipment.
    • To ensure that all new small-scale projects/ changes and modifications are implemented and completed to the requirements of the Plant Engineer/ Engineering Manager.
    • Implement projects in the shortest period without financial loss to the company.
    • Ensure successful implementation of small scale projects, and testing after implementation compulsory.
    • Ensure correct devices, machinery and software applications are installed for the correct processes.

    Risk Control Officer (Pretoria)

    • Our Talent Team is on the hunt for a Risk Control Officer for the Baking Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and will report into the SHER Manager.
    • The Risk Officer is responsible for ensuring high level of health and safety compliance and safety of employees. To ensure that incidents are properly investigated, and control measures are put in place. Enforce safety on the floor and ensure a clear understanding of safety rules. Embed safety culture on site.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Diploma in Safety Management/Environmental Science
    • SAMTRAC will be an advantage.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a FMCG environment.
    • Lead Auditor experience and certification required.
    • Advanced OSH training experience required.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • PPE ordering and issuing.
    • Assist with H & S inductions during shutdowns.
    • Contractor Management (LOG, PLI and 37.2 agreement as minimum requirements).
    • Participate in monthly departmental meetings.
    • Conduct monthly internal departmental safety audit.
    • Assist in collecting information for sustainability.
    • Arrange hazardous waste collection on a quarterly basis.
    • Share and track toolbox talks weekly.
    • Investigate all incidents onsite and recommend the implementation of control measures.
    • Track all incidents that occur on site and ensure that action is taken where necessary.
    • Arrange H & S trainings according to the training matrix.
    • Ensures that all appointment letters are up to date.
    • Assist Departmental Heads with Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
    • Implementing Toolbox talks based on the incidents.
    • Tracking completion of safe Working Procedure as well as Planned Task Observation.
    • Update safety board daily.
    • Ensuring that fire alarm is inspection weekly, and faults are recorded by the external service provider.
    • Assist in ensuring that fire drills are conducted timeously, and the report is drafted and shared with the team.
    • Checking permits weekly.
    • Assist in reviewing the emergency plan as well as the BCP.
    • Review health and safety policies and procedures.
    • Enforce safety across the site.
    • Ensure compliance as per updated legislatives.
    • Request for quotations and ensure that workflows are initiated.
    • Ensuring annual service of fire equipment’s are carried out.
    • Track all Gap lists and give feedback.
    • Capture incidents on SHEQ-X as well as conducting data accuracy on the system.
