    Customer Service Engineer DX Invitro - Western Cape

    • Siemens Healthineers is recruiting for a Customer Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain to a high standard; a range of state-of-the-art medical Invitro equipment and address customer needs promptly and professionally. This is a field role with considerable independence travelling to and working at customer sites.

    What are my responsibilities?

    • Work in cooperation with the Customer Care Centre to carry out service, maintenance, updates and installation of Siemens Healthineers products within your designated product range and assist under supervision with other products. 
    • Ensure material parts are processed in accordance with policy 
    • Maintain all test equipment, tools and company property in good and working order 
    • Escalate as appropriate situations where customer satisfaction is compromised, or contractual obligations are unlikely to be met 
    • Maintain good communications and teamwork with all Managers and Colleagues 
    • Understand and comply with Siemens Healthineers work instructions, quality policy, codes of conduct policies and regulatory requirements always 
    • Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team processes. 
    • Complete personal administration and company mandatory training in a timely and accurate manner 
    • When applicable provide out-of-hours technical service support and complete individual mandatory weekend working provision 
    • Attend product training courses locally and abroad to build competence in providing technical assistance and support to customers 
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within customer services to ensure our company values are achieved

    What do I need to qualify for this job?

    • National diploma/ Degree/ B-tech / advance diploma in Electronics, Engineering, Biomedical or related field.
    • Ideally you will have previous field service experience where you have made fault finding on electronic or medical equipment. You will also be required to have strong IT, Microsoft Office and Networking Infrastructure skills. Minimum 3 years of experience with InVitro equipment.
    • Your customer-facing skills will be invaluable, as you will be required to interface with customers and staff at all levels within Siemens Healthineers, third parties, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers and must quickly gain the respect of others, both colleagues and customers at all levels

    Additional Information:

    • This role provides support mainly for the Western Cape region however you may be required to support other regions
    • You need to have a valid South African drivers license and your own vehicle.
    • You must not have restrictions to travel
    • Must be a South African National, preferably from a designated diversity group

    Your tasks and responsibilities:

    • You complete a broad scope of technical tasks including installation/commissioning, maintenance and evaluation of customer’s equipment and systems among others.
    • You support customers remotely and onsite and provide 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.
    • You contribute to or conduct the maintenance and improvement of internal tools, equipment, processes, and data repositories
    • You contribute to or execute activities for estimation, planning, and review of technical tasks in support of overall project acquisition, negotiation, planning and management
    • You may be involved in technical design and developments for service offerings as well as managing sub-contractors and monitor delivery.
    • ·You will support all service processes and ensure optimal performance & efficiency in all process activities related to your area of responsibility.

    Your qualifications and experience:

    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (light current) or similar and/or knowledge on healthcare sector with 5-8 years of experience in repair and maintenance of X-Ray equipment and/or similar digital imaging scope.
    • Experience in performing *Radiation Quality Assurance* tests as laid out by the requirements of the ISP 17020 Inspection Body, will be advantageous
    • Knowledge of the healthcare sector with 5 years’ experience in repair and maintenance Multi-Modality
    • IT experience is advantageous

    • You must be able to work overtime during week and weekends as well as on public holidays.
    • Willing to perform standby duties when required after hours, weekend work will be required on a rotational basis
