    Supply Chain Optimisation Lead (Port Elizabeth)

    Overview:

    • The Supply Chain Optimization Lead plays a pivotal role in driving strategic supply chain decisions through in-depth data analysis and actionable insights.
    • This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in supply chain management, demand management, demand analytics, forecasting, and process optimization, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry.
    • The role leads efforts to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance, ensuring the company remains competitive in a dynamic market environment while delivering ultimate customer service.

    Requirements
    Responsibilities:

    Data Analysis and Interpretation 

    • Analyze complex supply chain data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
    • Develop and implement advanced analytics models to forecast demand and optimize supply chain operations

    Demand Management and Analytics

    • Lead demand planning processes to accurately forecast product demand based on historical data, market trends, and sales insights
    • Utilize demand analytics to identify factors affecting demand variability and propose strategies to address them

    Forecasting

    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts to ensure alignment between supply and customer demand
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to integrate business intelligence and market data into demand forecasts

    Data Analysis and Reporting

    • Create processes and methods to automate information gathering across the value chain
    • Maintain and track accurate data to support supply chain decision-making
    • Review, streamline, and automate all internal and external supply chain reports
    • Constantly review supply chain data and ensure necessary inputs are fed into the planning and production cycle
    • Develop and maintain detailed process maps of key value chain processes to assist with optimization and simulation 

    Future-Proof our Business

    • Develop frameworks to identify the value of implementing advanced tools and technologies within the Aspen value chain (IoT, BigData, Blockchain, Machine Learning AI)
    • Support the creation of LP/MIP capability within Aspen and create the framework/tools for data engineering, digital twin, optimisation, and simulation

    Optimised Customer Care

    • Ensure that supply chain strategies and operations are aligned with the goal of delivering ultimate customer service
    • Proactively address any supply chain disruptions to minimize impact on customer satisfaction and product availability 

    Reporting and Dashboards

    • Create and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into supply chain and demand performance metrics
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

    Process Optimisation 

    • Identify inefficiencies in supply chain and demand management processes and recommend solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations and improve service levels

    Strategic Planning 

    • Provide data-driven insights to inform strategic supply chain and demand management decisions and long-term planning
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align supply chain and demand strategies with overall business objectives

    Collaboration

    • Work closely with procurement, logistics, demand planning, and IT departments to ensure data accuracy and alignment

    Technology and Tools

    • Leverage advanced analytics tools and technologies to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making capabilities
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the supply chain analytics functions

    Performance Monitoring and Risk Management 

    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure supply chain and demand management operations align with business goals
    • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them

    Requirements:

    Formal qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management, Business Analytics, Operations Research, or a related field. Post graduate degree in above fields of study advantageous

    Certifications/registrations

    • Data science certifications and APICS certification preferred

    Overall experience

    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, with a strong focus on demand analytics, forecasting, data analytics, and process optimization, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry

    Specific experience, knowledge and registrations

    • Proven track record of leading supply chain and demand management improvement initiatives and driving tangible results

    Work-specific skills & exposure

    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time

    Material Requirements Planning and Logistics Manager (Port Elizabeth)

    Overview:

    • The Materials Requirements Planning and Logistics Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, shipping, control, and inbound logistics of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
    • Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies.
    • To ensure that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity. Takes a co-ordinating lead, working closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements.
    • Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.
    • Responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time and in full, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way.
    • Monitors and oversees the transportation of goods from the supplier to Aspen Factories and or our Contract manufacturers.

    Responsibilities:

    Logistics Management:

    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for freight transportation and logistics services to meet the organization's requirements.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in freight and logistics to drive innovation and efficiency.
    • Lead the logistics strategy and operations across Sea/Air Freight, Transportation Inbound and Reverse Logistics.
    • Manage 3PL provider and corresponding supply chain logistics to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain integration.
    • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance.
    • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
    • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
    • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers.
    • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency. Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria. Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
    • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems. Review impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to others

    Material Requirements Planning:

    • Lead and manage the planning and ordering of time-critical materials to support manufacturing and support functions within the organization, while minimizing freight costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels (avoid both shortages and overages).
    • Act as escalation point for all material requirements and or shortages.
    • Identify and communicate potential supply risks and collaborate with Production, Procurement and Supply Planning teams to investigate and resolve issues.
    • Enforce the use of MRP and maintenance of MRP master data parameters to ensure accurate demand signals (i.e. lead times, MOQ’s, lot sizing, safety stock); identify and resolve system and/or BOM inaccuracies to preserve data integrity.
    • Lead daily, weekly and monthly material planning meetings to ensure supply continuity.
    • Report on KPIs (inventory management, production interruptions, expediting material, manage freight costs through planning etc.) and enforce best practices.
    • Foster and develop a strong team of material planner/buyers through training and coaching. Tasks include proactively using available planning resources, communicating job expectations, providing performance feedback and managing the team in line with Aspen policies and values.
    • Collaborate with service providers, suppliers and departments across all Aspen SA Operations from logistics, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, service, and supply planning to support ongoing operational and long-term objectives.
    • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to execution and planned growth, including but not limited to procedural updates and communication pathways, improved hand-offs from Sourcing to material planning and from material planning to internal customers, inventory optimization scenarios, analytics and deliverables on KPI’s, and employee training programs.
    • Work with suppliers, sourcing team and warehousing to establish delivery quantities and frequency for On-Time deliveries ensuring effective inventory management and service to all stakeholders in achieving company objectives on product supply.
    • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, production and warehousing to coordinate changes in line with inventory management, order timing for part revisions and new product launches, targeting minimal obsolescence.
    • Participate in and champion MRP development /implementation activities, including specification writing, development, testing, and training.
    • Custodian to all activities related to inventory management and inventory policy across Aspen SA Operations

    Requirements:

    Formal qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a similar field

    Overall experience

    • 5 - 10 years’ relevant experience in a supply chain or planning or procurement role
    • 3 – 5 Proven People and Process Management Experience

    Pharmacist Assistant (Port Elizabeth)

    Overview

    • Assist with the receiving, storing, dispensing, and packing of scheduled drugs and controlled materials

    Responsibilities

    Sample testing before storage

    • Support the sampling of content according to required specifications
    • Replace the label after “For release” is approved

    Dispensing of raw material

    • Perform the function of dispensing of material
    • Prepare filters and tubing for the production batch
    • Update information into the ERP system

    • Source the selected material and bring it to the testing area
