    Global Solution Sales

    • The key objective of this role will be to manage a portfolio of leading global/regional companies, the best in their industries worldwide, to deliver an effective TTS relationship that increases TTS revenue, increases client contacts and new buying centers and grows wallet share year on year.  This role reports to the Corporate and Public Sector Sales Head for Sub-Saharan Africa.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The successful candidate will coordinate the client team to identify new business origination, manage a diverse and growing pipeline of opportunities and win mandates.
    • These clients are setting new standards in how they are driving growth in their industries, transforming distribution and sales channels, embracing digitization, and diversifying their supply chains. They expect an innovative, world class partner and you will champion the TTS client sales team to meet their expectations.
    • You will have defined TTS Sales responsibilities, either Global / Regional, for a portfolio of corporate clients to apply combined in-depth TTS technical product sales skills with client diagnostic and origination skills to originate and design complex single, multicountry/ regional or global TTS solutions.
    • To be successful, you will coordinate with your team, collaborate with partners across TTS, Corporate Bank and across the Citi network to achieve Trusted Advisor status with your clients. By achieving this status, you will have demonstrated the optimal frequency of high-quality client calling, bringing relevant ideas and opportunities to your clients to enable them to meet their strategic objectives and demonstrating your knowledge of the industry and TTS products and services.
    • You will be working in close partnership with your client teams across the world, as well as with functional partners in Onboarding and Service, to deliver world class client experience. Additionally, you will engage with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Although it is a client facing role, it is a comprehensive professional role that incorporates business management, risk and controls and requires a well-rounded attention to a balanced business scorecard.

    To deliver the above you will become fully conversant with the relevant product characteristics across the suite of global cash management, trade and cards solutions:

    • Liquidity Management;
    • Digital Channels and Data;
    • Payments and Receivables;
    • Trade Services and Finance; and
    • Commercial Cards.

    Knowledge/Experience:

    A financial sales background (10+ years), preferably within Transactional Banking, be customer focused and able to operate at all levels within the client’s organization

    • Proven track record of successful sales or advisory with senior corporate Treasury professionals and / or other Finance, Procurement areas.
    • Understanding of Working Capital Management and credit skills (useful)
    • Demonstrate where you have had a significant impact in terms of new business origination, or competitive retention by influencing client decisions through your advocacy
    • Demonstrate that you can build a culture of responsible finance, client partnership with good governance and supervision,
    • expense discipline and ethics.
    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's
    • reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
    • Experience of assuming an informal/formal leadership role with internal and external teams.
    • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

    Financial Manager (Legal Entity Manger)

    • As Legal Entity Manager (Senior Financial Accountant), the purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the financial reporting, and the related controls and responsibilities, specific to Citigroup Global Markets (Pty) Ltd (‘CGM SA’), the Equities Broker-Dealer vehicle for Citi South Africa.
    • The role is based within the South African Finance team and reports directly through to the Country Controller. The role will manage the legal entity manager responsibilities primarily for the broker-dealer entity (CGM SA) but will also provide support to the banking entity (CBNA SA) where required.
    • The scope of activities and operations of Citi South Africa gives rise to a great opportunity for an experienced and highly effective candidate with the appropriate Accounting and Regulatory Reporting experience to play a critical role in the successful execution of this function.
    • The role is challenging and highly visible and, requires a fully functional Candidate on all aspects of financial reporting including regulatory reporting aspects related to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE)

    The Finance team is part of the Controllers Discipline within Finance and plays an integral part in the local franchise, and responsible for:

    • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to local regulators (SARB and JSE) and reporting to senior management,
    • Integrity of ledger for 2 main legal vehicles under both IFRS and US GAAP;
    • Legal entity management responsibilities including adhering to Citi legal entity policies and entity booking conventions and expense management
    • Financial planning
    • Capital management
    • Maintaining a strong control environment;

    Responsibilities:

    • The role of the Legal Entity Manager for CGM SA is placed within South African Finance department and reports to the Country Controller) and is involved in the daily management of all the Financial Accounting.  The CGM Financial Control role would typically involve:

    • Overseeing and monitoring the month end close process for both Citigroup ledger as well as local ledger (BDA), working in partnership with various stakeholders across geographies
    • Review of monthly management book numbers
    • Accurate review and analysis of the JSE CapAd returns prepared by the regulatory reporting team
    • Prepare and update quarterly reports which are required for corporate US reporting (Qmemo, Cashflow, Expense Attestation etc.)
    • Review, interpret and implement JSE regulations
    • Have a sound understanding of the annual financial statements and the accounting standards and their impact on various reporting aspects within Finance
    • Responsible for the co-ordination of financial related audits, both internal and external impacting legal entity management matters
    • Prepare annual financial statements for CGM SA
    • Assist Product Control and Middle Office with the resolution of trading P&L and dividend breaks on the BDA local ledger versus US GAAP internal ledger reconciliation
    • Application of strong internal controls, with a focus on continually strengthening the control environment
    • Identifying areas where process improvements can be made to achieve efficiencies and a strong control environment.
    • Preparation of the monthly control file for review by the Country Controller. Participate in the quarterly Manager Control Assessment (MCA) process
    • Support the improvement of data quality as it pertains to financial and regulatory reporting
    • Supports capital management of the broker dealer
    • On an annual basis, manage the external audit as well as production of annual financial statements
    • Support the CFO with ad-hoc requests
    • Drive the annual plan (budgeting) process for businesses in CGMSA
    • Support application and implementation of IFRS standards and product accounting
    • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the balance sheet substantiation process for accounts owned
    • Provide support and analytical insight of various financial and regulatory aspects and perform business analysis, including advisory support to business
    • Provide support (preparation of committee packs, analysis of information for business purposes) for various management committee meetings and external meetings (Regulator on-site visits), including ability to assist with chairing meetings where required
    • Working closely with Business partners and other functions to gain a thorough understanding of CGMSA’s businesses, risks and controls
    • Implementation of any new financial or management reporting requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Chartered Accountant (CA) / Master in business administration (MBA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent combination of education
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting management with commensurate stakeholder management experience

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
