    Engineering Lead - Data (TL)

    Role Overview

    •  As an Engineering Lead for a product delivery team, you will manage and mentor the team in delivering to a specific product area, with particular focus on engaging in the best software development principles and practices.
    •  You will be a strong advocate for the team and share current web development, data platform, data transformation and data integration practices, ideas and successes with other product delivery teams.
    •  Contribute to data platform strategy and vision by working with area Product and Engineering leads
    •  You will have a good understanding of and be able to coach and mentor the team in, modern agile software development practices, particularly in the areas of Scrum, TDD/BDD, CI/CD, Clean Code, microservice architectures and full team accountability for test practices.
    •  You will create a culture of autonomy and proactive problem solving within your team, encouraging engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and to be enthusiastic in identifying solutions.
    •  As a key member of a versatile team, you design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions and you ensure that testing and delivering quality products are owned by the whole team.
    •  You will be a strong communicator and proactively help to resolve your team’s issues, where necessary through discussion with other leads and teams. Responsibilities
    •  Ensuring your team composition is adequate, identifying skill shortfalls and managing your team of engineers and testers (onshore and offshore), who will look to you as a mentor for their skills and as a coach to guide them through the software development life cycle.
    •  Collaborate with the Product Owner and UX Designer on problem solving and with other Leads in Engineering and other Technology functions (e.g. Architecture, DevOps, Security) to deliver secure, reliable, robust, scalable code which can be built, tested and deployed into Production using automation and CI/CD principles
    •  Enable an empowered team model and support your team’s workload and manage the expectations of key stakeholders
    •  Work with your team PO and Scrum Master in preparing the team for upcoming new work; understanding and estimating epics and help to forecast likely delivery timescales;
    •  Working with PO and UX Designer in regular weekly Discovery sessions to help identify potential solutions
    •  Ensuring all non-functional requirements have been captured, implemented and tested in parallel to functional delivery
    •  Work with Solution Architects to ensure solution design is reviewed effectively, and is conformant with NFRs, Security and Data Privacy guidelines
    •  Implement software engineering best practices such as TDD /BDD, pair programming, Clean Code, CI /CD, pyramid testing within a Scrum agile delivery framework
    •  Responsibility for code quality, ensuring test practices and code reviews are conducted to a high standard.
    •  Ensure the use of continuous delivery pipelines and tools to fully automate deployment, testing, delivery, and management of development, QA and production systems on a variety of cloud platforms
    •  Lead the efforts to troubleshoot and take ownership of issues in our development, test and production environments, including performance optimization and continuous tuning
    •  Continuous learning and evaluation of the latest development methods, tools, and technologies

    Candidate Profile

    •  10 years + experience of leading teams in full stack web development and data technologies
    •  Able to demonstrate evidence of applying technology to solve business problems using spikes, discovery and prototyping in collaboration with Product and Design teams.
    •  Proven experience managing small software teams and mentoring engineers
    •  Experience as a test-driven full stack Engineer with proficiency in one of the following: Python, Java or Javascript
    •  Highly experienced in agile test driven software development
    •  Passionate about writing well-crafted clean code and comfortable working in an agile environment
    •  Ability to write high-quality code across modern programming languages and frameworks
    •  Knowledge and experience of delivering solutions using a microservice architecture with RESTful protocols and frameworks such as Express and Swagger
    •  Ability to quickly learn and apply emerging programming languages, frameworks, and platforms
    •  Knowledge and experience of implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
    •  Knowledge and experience of hosting in cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
    •  Working experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes an advantage
    •  Good communication and collaboration skills essential

    Essential

    •  Good knowledge of DataBricks/Spark (using Python and associated frameworks)
    •  Good knowledge of Data Lake and Azure Blob storage
    •  Working knowledge of API gateways (Kong or equivalent), ABAC solutions (Symphonic or equivalent), CMS platforms (Strapi or equivalent)  Good experience in a Microsoft Azure environment and data platforms

    Desirable

    •  Strong experience in building solutions in Node, React, Babel, Webpack, Typescript, Apollo GraphQL, REST, Redis, MongoDB, Okta, OpenID and Git
    •  Strong experience of test and CI/CD frameworks such as Jest, Lint, Brigade and Helm
    •  Experience of Kafka event driven architecture and Camunda workflow management

    Project Manager (Project Manager)

    Role purpose

    • The purpose of this role is to project manage Cloud security and Data Security projects across the global Client environment.

    Role Responsibility

    • Experience of Cloud security projects (Cloud Audit & Cloud Threat) across Azure, AWS & GCPor
    • Data Security experience of implementing Data Security controls (Microsoft Labelling, DLP, device controls)
    • Commercially experienced of project structure, roles and responsibilities, risks, issues
    • Works with and supports the Project/Programme manager to deliver a defined programme of work
    • Able to prioritize their own workload and be comfortable calling out scheduling conflicts
    • Ensures that project artefacts are produced and maintained per PM methodology
    • Actively identifies, projects risks and issues, recording correctly and working with the Project/Programme manager to prioritize and mitigate
    • Able to communicate with project stakeholders at all levels within the business
    • Carries out project activities using a standard project management package
    • Provide accurate and timely status reports on their ongoing project activities

    Tech competencies

    • Experience of AWS & Azure cloud environments would be beneficial
    • Jira user (Nice to have not essential)
    • Waterfall and agile aware

    Technical Product Owner (Enterprise )

    Your responsibilities will include : 

    • Key accountability for definition and delivery of robust and scalable platform components based around a discrete domain within our architecture
    • Work hand in glove with ‘business-facing’ Product Owners to understand end to end user journeys that deliver business value and assist them in decomposing this into a set of new/enhanced capabilities that are required of a variety of platform components
    • Work with Technology engineers, operations and architects to ensure the non-functional requirements and options for significant ‘under the cover’ technical investment are understood in order to drive long term flexibility, maintainability, extensibility and a smooth running operation of the component in production
    • Ensure that the functional and non functional capabilities are appropriated identified, prioritised and delivered maintaining a trade-off between delivering required features for business facing epics and non functional / hygiene factors
    • Create, manage and communicate the short, medium and long term roadmap for your component and ensure alignment to business defined milestones and deliveries
    • Work with the Scrum Master and delivery team(s) assigned to your platform component to break down epics/user stories providing sufficient detail and acceptance criteria, allowing development to commence and all aspects of the feature / capability to be tested in a fully automated manner
    • Ensure your platform component aligns to the agreed non-functional requirements, provides diagnostics and is delivered with a first class ability to rapidly identify, fix and deploy in reaction to production issues
    • Work with Technical Authors to ensure that appropriate documentation is created for the platform component to allow long term maintainability and extensibility; and for all APIs / interfaces to facilitate integration with the component
    • Ensure security and data privacy is embedded by design in all aspects of the component build and run lifecycle
    • Collaborate with other technical product owners or technology functions to ensure all functional and non-functional capabilities required by any stakeholders are appropriately identified, delivered and measured (where appropriate) by the platform as a whole. 

    What does the ideal candidate’s background look like : 

    •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline
    •  Experience in product and engineering management in a complex environment
    •  Ideally experience from organisation with strong software engineering ethos  
    •  Experience with online collaboration tools such as Office365 and the Atlassian toolset (Bonus!)
    •  Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to effectively communicate between business leaders and tech talent pool demonstrating stakeholder management and influencing skills
    •  Strong understanding of market trends and best practices within technology and technical product management
    •  Skilled at defining and prioritising technical product initiatives in a complex architecture

    Cloud Engineer (Python )

    We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer who can design and implement Cloud based software solutions for our clients and users across GCP, Azure, or AWS. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud native solutions across one of the major hyperscalers and have a good understanding of PaaS solutions for various architectures. A very good basis of software development and architecture is required in one or more major languages. The candidate will be expected to own the entire SDLC including deployments, CI/CD, database design, and monitoring & alerting for the application. The candidate will work closely with the solution architect to ensure that the vision is built and delivered as per the architecture. Since our clients require that our Engineers are certified professionals, the candidate will be required to get certified in the cloud provider being used.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or relevant work experience)

    • Any professional cloud certifications in Azure, GCP, or AWS are a plus.

    • 5 years experience in developing software using languages such as Python, C++, Java, PHP or Ruby.

    • Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.

    • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.

    • Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.
