    Manager SCM and Logistics

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Implementing and contributing to the development and review of strategic goals and service delivery of the SCM section and budget implementation plan 
    • Develop supplier performance and contract management strategy, processes, procedures and management reporting requirements 
    • Manage the implementation and enforcement of the supply chain management policy and systems throughout the organisation to ensure supply chain management that is fair, transparent, competitive and cost effective 
    • Management and direction of the logistics and goods receiving functions, ensuring that, artifacts delivered, allocated and received from the correct labs in a timeous and efficient manner 
    • Implement supply chain management system(s) to support the implementation of demand planning, acquisition, logistics, risk and performance management system within the supply chain management section 
    • Monitoring and advising the chief financial officer of changes that may affect the working capital/ budget or operations including resource allocations and demand, logistics and acquisition management 
    • Implement and support good governance related to supply chain management throughout the organisation 
    • Develop, manage and contribute to the timely preparation, submission, and publication of statutory reports, particularly those related to supply chain management 
    • Implementing the risk management and fraud prevention plan within SCM 
    • Provide support for audits and ensuring access to all relevant information of the entity to enable auditors to perform their functions 
    • Review and analysis of audit reports, providing management responses in this regard and taking appropriate action 
    • Human Resource management and continuous development 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

    • Relevant honours/ postgraduate (NQF level 8) qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field 
    • 5-6 year’s relevant experience in Supply Chain Management with experience at the management level of the organisation. 
    • Advance knowledge of managing all aspects of the SCM process (i.e., demand management, procurements/sourcing, contract management, logistics etc.) 
    • Experience in managing a team with a proven track record in achieving targets and developing people 
    • Should have a proven track record of achieving strategic goals or targets 
    • Advance working knowledge of the public service regulatory framework (PFMA, PPPFA, TR, BBBEE. King IV reporting etc.) 
    • Advanced/Comprehensive knowledge of procurement policies, and procedures, services level agreement framework, and contract management principles 
    • Efficient/ competent in managing Bids - Quotation and Tender processes 
    • Knowledge of the best procurement practices, industry trends including sourcing strategies and different mechanisms of procurement 
    • Basic knowledge of scientific industry trends and the best practices per commodity group

    Scientist: Dosimetry Standards

    Minimum Qualifications, knowledge, and Experience 

    • Honour’s degree in Physics is a minimum requirement 
    • MSc in Physics will be an advantage 
    • A requirement of more than five (5) years of working experience in an ionising radiation field (dosimetry and/or related nuclear applications) 
    • Knowledge and experience in the calibration techniques of relevant equipment used in the nuclear industry/ radiation field 
    • Proven hands-on experience in using and calibrating equipment used in dosimetry measurements 
    • Knowledge of ionising radiation metrology and the international measurement system 
    • Ability to network on an international and national level, planning and execution (proposal preparation, budgeting, etc.) of research projects 
    • Experience in working with MS Office packages, especially Excel for data analysis; working experience in programming will be an advantage 
    • Proven track record of producing accurate scientific and technical reports 
    • Working knowledge of the total quality management system ISO/IEC 17025 
    • An understanding of statistical applications in measurement, the estimation of uncertainty, and the preparation of uncertainty budgets 
    • Registration with professions organisations such as SACNASP, METCERT, or HPCSA will be an advantage 
    • Experience in training and mentoring will be an advantage. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintenance of measurement standards and disseminating traceability to industry through calibration of measuring equipment relevant to areas of responsibility 
    • Research and development of new measurement capabilities in dosimetry 
    • Improve calibration measurement techniques used to disseminate traceability to industry
    • Liaise with international National Metrology Institutes (NMI’s) and perform international comparisons as relevant to the areas of responsibility to maintain confidence in the equivalence in capabilities between National Metrology Institutes 
    • Remaining abreast of international developments in Dosimetry and/ or neutron dosimetry and identifying standards in line with the needs of the South African community for radiation dosimetry 
    • Client liaison, quotations, and problem-solving to ensure the dissemination of relevant information and effective contract review 
    • Actively participate in regional and international forums to ensure global competitiveness. 
    • Writing and review of procedures in the areas of responsibility 
    • Ensure that all scientific reporting is accurate 
    • Maintenance of personal training file to ensure an ongoing record of competence. 
    • Comply with the requirements of the NMISA TQMS to ensure process consistency and effectiveness 
    • Maintenance of a radiation safety culture within the area of responsibility.

    Junior Scientist: Dosimetry Standards

    • Up to five (5) years working experience in an ionising radiation field (Dosimetry and/or physical nuclear applications) 
    • Working experience in calibration of relevant equipment used in the nuclear industry/radiation field will be an advantage

    • Computer literacy in MS Office is essential 
    • Experienced in producing accurate scientific reports 
    • Working knowledge of the total quality management system (ISO/IEC 17025 will be an advantage)
