    Overview    

    • General work as per working instruction, cleaning and loading of bags on to trucks by hooking product to forklift. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices

    Qualifications    

    • Grade12/Matric (Maths and Science)

    Experience    

    • 2-5 Years related industry experience 

    Duties    
    Complete manual tasks

    • Hooking bags, loading of product, packing of bags
    • Sampling, visual quality checks, cleaning
    • Report safety, quality issues

    Operator 1 (DCS)

    Overview    

    • Perform defined task as per document instruction/process. Prepare equipment for operators by accessing software in computer. Monitors and manipulates daily system jobs. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.

    Qualifications    

    • Matric (Maths and Science) 
    • NQF 6 
    • National Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Will be an advantage)
    • Acid Offloading: Chemical Operations

    Experience    

    • 2 - 5 years’ experience in Chemical industry
    • Chemical industry with process control experience (Will be an advantage)

    Duties    
    Operate complex equipment:

    • Operate bulk blender, FFS, DCS equipment, Acid offloading, weighbridge

    Ensure effective workflow:

    • PTW, Risk Assessment, Lock Out procedure, HIRA, 5Y,  identify and report problems, 5S (maintenance, quality, safety),  AX job cards

    Facilitate and assist in maintenance work:

    • Step 1-7, Record downtime
    • Check lab product analysis, visual checks, respond to analysis
    • Mass balance: Recon
    • Stock and production declaration

    Team Leader

    Overview    

    • The purpose of the Team leader is to lead & supervise the Packhouse team members. To be directly accountable for the Packhouse team; including time and attendance management; adherence to basis of safety and legal requirements; provision of raw materials; also ensuring standard quality is applied to all the processes.  To coordinate transportation of finished product to the Warehousing Magazines

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent

    Experience

    • 2 years’ demonstrated experience in people management

    Duties    

    • To be directly accountable for the whole packing process including time and attendance management
    • To ensure adherence to basis of safety and legal requirements
    • Provision of raw materials and production plan
    • To generate work orders from the system (AX)
    • To ensure that the standard quality is applied to all the processes
    • Ensure raw material usage variance is within tolerable limits
    • To ensure that boxes are correctly packed, labelled and palletised for dispatch to the Magazines (Explosives storage facility)
    • To coordinate delivery and transfer of finished products with distribution department
    • Managing aspects and meeting target in the following areas of responsibility for the shift/team under supervision:- Safety, Production productivity, Material productivity
    • People productivity including training and leave planning, Adherence to sound SHERQ principles

    Packhouse Assistant

    Overview    

    • The purpose of the job is to pack completed explosive products in a systematic manner to ensure that they are safe and secure. The incumbent of the position must see to it that boxes are correctly weighed and labelled with the specified information clearly listed.

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent 
    • 1 year certificate in a relevant production related qualification

    Experience    

    • 1 year demonstrated experience in the assembly and packaging of explosives accessories through the use of an assembly line
    • 1 year demonstrated experience in the application of the required occupational health and safety standards within an explosives environment

    Duties    

    • Ensuring that finished product is properly packed in boxes in prescribed quantities
    • Ensuring that boxes are weighed and labelled accordingly
    • Responsible for packing boxes containing completed units so that they are safe and secure
    • Apply good housekeeping principles at all times
    • To work safely, conforming to the occupational health and safety act and the explosives act at all times
    • Meet daily production targets
    • Ensure availability and uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components
    • Prepares boxes by placing a small amount of glue at the bottom of a box, folding it, and then applies tape to seal the bottom of the box
    • Ensuring that the right amount of explosives are packed as per product box count 
    • Ensure corresponding labels are placed in completed boxes as per product specification
    • Box to be closed, packed and palletised accordingly and wrapped with a shrink wrap
    • When finished product is transferred to the Magazine, ensure that correct transfer documents attached as per procedure

    Supervisor

    Overview    

    • The purpose of the Shift Supervisor is to lead & supervise a team members.     • Ensure monthly stock counts are conducted accurately

    Lab Assistant: Initiating Systems

    Overview    

    • This position will assist with the daily pre-release QC sampling and confirmation testing of detonators. The position will also on an ad hoc basis assist with detonator destruction, testing of emulsion explosives and other laboratory test work as assigned                                                                                                     

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent

    Experience    

    • 1 year demonstrated experience in Quality Control sampling and confirmation testing of detonators in a production environment
    • 1 year demonstrated experience in Laboratory environment
    • 1 year demonstrated experience in explosives production environment

    Duties    

    • To assist in the daily pre-release QC sampling 
    • Confirmation testing of detonators and detonator assemblies administration of test data

    Loader

    Overview    

    • To pick, receive, load incoming and outgoing orders to and from the trucks in a safe and secure manner as well as perform housekeeping tasks when required within the magazine and yard.                                                                                                                                                                                                             

    Qualifications    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent  

    Experience    

    • 1 year demonstrated experience in a warehouse environment 
    • 1 year demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Forklift experience 

    Duties    

    • To perform all magazine activities in compliance with standard operating procedures, regulation and legislation (this includes: receiving, put-away, picking, loading and cycle counts)
    • To identify and report any concerns and/or issues pertaining to the status of inventory to relevant supervisor
    • To complete inventory cycle counts as per the schedule provided by the Stock Controller, and investigate all discrepancies
    • To position and transfer stock in a magazine as per the instructions provided by supervisory staff in order to ensure to efficient use of space (ensure floor to system matching), and FIFO management of stock
    • To perform effective housekeeping of the magazine and yard so that these areas are neat, tidy, safe and comply with all SHERQ and legislative requirements
