    Wind Balance of Plant Contract Manager - Fixed Term Contract (Cape Town)

    Context & Environment

    • Preferably BEng/BSc/BS (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic)
    • 10+ years’ experience in the renewable energy environment (Wind Projects).
    • Good understanding of split contracts for complex Constructions projects (Civil and Electrical) is mandatory 
    • Good understanding of Wind BOP agreements and interfaces with Turbine suppliers will be beneficial
    • Awareness and understanding of the relevant technical codes, regulations and standards relating to the development of renewable energy projects.
    • Attention to detail required
    • Requires an organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management.
    • Commercial mindset and experience with optimizing overall business from a technical design and execution perspective
    • Take ownership of meeting deadlines and drive tasks to completion
    • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
    • Able to work independently and in groups
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
    • Understanding of MS Project and Primavera project schedules

    Activities

    • This position requires a person with substantial experience and will be responsible to oversee the design and negotiate the Balance of Plant (BOP) execution contracts for a 320MW wind project.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage relationships with BOP Contractors and liaise with TotalEnergies group level key supplier management initiatives
    • Advise on the preferred contracting strategy
    • Lead the technical and commercial evaluation of BOP Proposals
    • Lead the selection of a BOP contractor(s)
    • Negotiate the BOP Construction and O&M agreements, focussing on technical & commercial and coordination with
    • internal/external legal advisors and 
    • technical specialists (Turbine interfaces, Grid Code Compliance, Turbine Performance, SCADA, Schedule, O&M Contract) 
    • Liaise with the Turbine team to manage the formulation and contracting of interfaces between the BOP contractor and the Turbine supplier
    • Up to NTP: Oversee the BOP design review process during concept and detailed design (in consultation with the OE)
    • Assist the Project Director and Engineering Manager in preparation of management presentations and the generation of reports
    • Negotiate and manage other related subcontractor agreements as may be required (met mast construction, etc.)
    • Such other duties that may be required from time to time within the general scope of the position.
    • The role description should develop along with the changing demands of the projects’ objectives and priorities.

    Depot Manager - Blackheath

    Context & Environment

    • Submit consolidated monthly depot results, exceptions, and corrective action plans.
    • Monitor KPIs including expenditure, SAP exceptions, audit reports, HSEQ stats, transport performance, stock loss reports, integrity, and CMMS.

    Governance & Legal:

    • Ensure compliance with OHS Act (Appoint 8.1) and all national, environmental, and local laws.
    • Appoint and monitor Health and Safety Committees (Safety Officer, Fire Team, First Aid).
    • Fulfill legal requirements as Depot Manager under section 3(1) of MHI Regulation 2989 (Act 85 of 1993).
    • Ensure compliance with Liquid Licence requirements.

    Candidate Profile
    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial, or Chemical).

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in LPG industry depot operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
    • Strong knowledge of Logistics Management and Stock Management.
    • Familiarity with relevant legislation impacting LPG distribution and installations, such as OHS Act, HAZCHEM, and applicable SABS regulations.
    • Excellent working knowledge of SAP.

    Other Requirements:

    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Proven ability to produce and submit high-quality reports.
    • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, with exceptional problem-solving, planning, organizing, and decision-making abilities.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities.

    Depot Superintendent - Umtata

    Context & Environment

    • Reports directly to the Depot Manager.
    • Responsible for effective stock control and supervision of staff.
    • Liaise with contractors and local authorities to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
    • Act as the Depot Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to company standards.

    Laboratory Technician

    Context & Environment

    • Strict adherence to HSEQ requirements with full authority to stop any operation for safety reasons or emergencies.
    • Contribute to reduction in complaints on packed product quality.
    • Maintaining all targets of Quality and the QMS as set in KPI’s.
    • Train and guide operational teams for exercising on line Quality activities effectively.

    Activities

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory testing, quality assurance, and compliance activities to ensure that all products meet TotalEnergies, customer, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining the highest standards of HSE and operational excellence.

    Key responsibilities:

    Operations

    • Responsible for testing all products (raw materials/finished products) as per relevant ASTM and internal test methods.
    • Ensure that they meet TotalEnergies & customer’s requirements.
    • Operate and troubleshooting of the various Lab instruments and their applicable devices .
    • Conduct Pre-Use Inspections on all lab equipment before use. Ensure safe operation of all lab instruments.
    • Carry out calibration or verification checks on all lab instruments/equipment.
    • Running of daily QC Sample Checks 
    • Approve all blend instructions prior to blending
    • Test & approve all bulk & filling line samples
    • Issue certificates of analysis upon request
    • Test all effluent samples for compliance with Environmental system requirements
    • Assume the duties of the Lab Assistant or Lab Manager in their absence with the exception of HR
    • Carry out trial blends on request.
    • Participate in Round Robin Analysis and ensure results are submitted to lab Manager timeously.
    • Ensure good housekeeping/ 5S is always maintained
    • Capturing of data into spreadsheets and maintaining of all records.
    • Investigate blend failures and complete Incident reports.
    • Involvement in Quality inspections of packaging material
    • Quality Assurance on filling lines and Dispatch. 
    • Quality Audits on manufacturing processes
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Sampling of Batch Tanks , Additives , Bulk Samples, and Flushing’s 
    • Ensure the compliance of Laboratory Testing Equipment’s are in line with IATF 16949 requirements not limited to  (SPC, SOW, MSA)
    • Ensure Release of SAP QM Batches Release are conducted on a daily basis 
    • Ensure ISO 50001 Objectives for Laboratory are achieved by ensuring Energy Preservation 
    • Have a basic understanding of ISO 50001 and IATF 16949 and its requirements for Laboratory
    • Meet Internal Audit Objectives as per Audit Plan for all relevant systems at LMP (i.e ISO 9001/14001/45001/ISO 50001/IATF 16949) auditing or support

    HSE

    • To ensure constant adherence and compliance to company HSE and security standards, local by-laws, standards, and legislations to minimise all risk pertaining to company assets and protection of life and environment.
    • Stop operations in the event of an Emergency.
    • Report at least 2 Near Misses monthly.
    • Stop any activity that has a potential to cause accident or product nonconformity.
    • To effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring:
    • Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements 
    • Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies
    • That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility

    Candidate Profile
    The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

    • National Diploma in Chemistry (minimum requirement)
    • Competency in accurate testing using ASTM methods
    • Strong understanding of laboratory safety and equipment operation
    • Commitment to maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
    • Ability to work at height when required
    • Working knowledge of lubricants
    • Minimum of one (1) year laboratory experience
