    Shift Millwright Artisan

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE: To provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations to skills to ensure general maintenance within specific unit of responsibility within prescribed guidelines.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • Undertakes all non-specialized maintenance within specific unit of responsibility within definition

    • Coaches and develops the engineering skills of other maintenance and operational staff

    • Makes recommendation for continuous improvement

    • Involved in WCM activities. Works within defined Engineering and SHE Policies and Standards

    • Engineering: Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own team carries out the plant repairs

    • Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative and predictive maintenance effectively

    • Drive breakdown reductions off analyzing breakdowns, complying with the PPM requirement and implementing Continuous improvements

    • Participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance and breakdown reduction benefits (RCM)

    • Identifies the major engineering losses in his area and investigates using Kaizen problem solving methodology. (Fishbone, 5 Why etc.)

    • Ensures that Company safety rules and regulations are adhered and maintaining Unilever safety and 5S standards

    • Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOP’s

    KEY REQUIREMENTS:

    • N3 AND Trade Test Mechanical/ Electrical /Instrumental/ Millwright

    • 3 years Millwright experience in FMCG and Manufacturing

    • Experience on high-speed packaging machinery will be an advantage

    • Experience on Rotary Fillers will be an advantage

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc. and emergency cover

    YourRole

    The Country SHE and Quality Lead South Africa works in a country Organization and reports hierarchically to the MU AMET SHE Lead in ekaterra and functionally to the relevant MU Q Lead for the quality part.

    The role works within the country SC team for ekaterra and is part of the MU, SHE and Quality team.

    The role provides support on SHE Management for the office-based employees, located in the country, in particular supporting implementation of key SHE policies / standards like Safe Travel, Office Safety, apart from compliance tracking through internal audits (both ekaterra and local regulatory requirements) for non-Make sites. And the person is responsible to lead the security function in the country and responsible for the delivery of the security procedures the MU requires, this role will ensure our people and assets are protected.

    The role provides support in all aspects of Quality Management, like standard setting and enforcing, program definition, compliance checking and reporting for Market Unit. In addition, the role focuses on quality in the country operations, implementing, executing, improving, ensuring and providing technical quality support to assembling operations (Third Party Manufacturing), repacking operations, customers, for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, regulatory compliance, care line support and incident management.

    YourKey Tasks

    SHE & Security

    • Monitors and reports Country SHE performance and highlight deviations for actions with leadership teams

    • Supports 3Ps/ warehouses on SHE Management & conducts audits as required

    • The role organize required training programs on Safety and Security – both F2F and e-learning in her/his country.

    • Play active role in taking part in all safety and security incident investigations

    • Track regulatory compliance for SHE in locations in scope of the role (e.g offices, and other ekaterra owned non-make sites)

    • Implement security mitigation plans to establish relevant countermeasures and escalate where required

    • Work with travel teams to communicate security advice to travelers operating in high-risk countries and cities

    Quality

    • Monitors and reports Country quality performance – and works with the relevant functions/units to initiate improvement where needed

    • Play an active role in Market Product Incident management in his/her country

    • Provides expertise and support in Quality management for resolution of Quality issues in re-packers, third party manufactures, promotions suppliers, customers and distributors within Market Unit

    • Proposes mechanisms and processes to monitor conformance to global quality standards & requirements of Third Party Manufacturers (3PMs); Third Party Logistic providers, re-packers and Distributors in the market unit

    • Leads or support external certification audits for the her/his country

    • Lead and input to answer Regulatory Body requests.

    • Provide quality input for any import / export activities

    • Interface with customer / consumer care lines for alert trigger

    Stakeholder Management and key interfaces

    • Extended team member of Country Supply Chan leadership in the country

    Skills and Experience

    • University Degree in general sciences or technical discipline

    • Minimum 5 year of relevant experience in Quality and SHE roles at local/regional level

    • Quality expertise in Operations and/or Go to Market

    • Depth of experience within Food as minimum, expertise in Tea is a plus

    • Operational knowledge in Safety and adequate knowledge in Security

    • Cross functional Influencing

    • Ability to work independently in a virtual (global) environment

    • Proven and recognized achievements in risk and change management

    • Excellent organisation skills

    • High level of energy

    • Digital savviness

    • Fluent in English
