    Estimating Manager

    Job Description

    • Preparation, review, and submission of accurate estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. This ensures accurate budgeting and planning can take place, supports the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure the project can be delivered profitably.    
    • Responsible for the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.     
    • Supports more senior members of the estimating team in the management and development of the estimating team, the management of the contract or project estimating norms and the preparation and filing of project estimate documentation.   May act as the focal point for several project scopes.     
    • Responsible for identifying areas of best practise and driving continuous improvement within the Estimating team.   
    • This role may be standalone or act as part of a team as determined by the requirements of the project/contract organisation.   

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and issue the Basis of Estimate for project cost estimates for approval
    • Develop, issue, and maintain project cost estimates in accordance with the Basis of Estimate including statements of work scope, assumptions, man-hour estimates, narratives, and review & comment of client documents
    • Facilitate and participate in the internal review of project cost estimates, coordinating comments & updates and ultimately obtaining estimate approval as required
    • Review and deliver estimates to Wood management and the client for approval
    • Review and issue updates to projects cost estimates in a controlled manner
    • Liaise with other Project Controls disciplines to ensure projects budgets and schedules are developed to reflect the structure and content of the approved project cost estimate
    • Liaise with engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions to maintain awareness of the requirements and costs of labour, plant and equipment, materials, subcontracts, offices, IT, and other provisions, to ensure these are accurately reflected in the project cost estimate
    • Ensure the formal filing of project and proposal estimates, the collection of project historical data and the continuous update of estimating databases and norms in a controlled manner.
    • Review and issue change orders in accordance with the appropriate change notifications
    • May Review and communicate cost and schedule impact of change notifications
    • Participate and lead Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
    • Play an active role in the mentoring and career development of Estimating personnel
    • Ensure alignment with Wood processes, procedures, and guidelines
    • Promote the use of standard estimating systems, procedures, and work methods
    • Coordinate the estimate plan and development with the project team
    • Responsible for the overall development of the total project estimate
    • Prepare the total Project Estimate Basis
    • Arrange and conduct department, discipline, and project estimate review
    • Presentation of the estimate to Wood and Client management
    • Review and communicate cost and schedule impact of change notifications 

    Qualifications
    Qualifications:

    • Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)           

    Knowledge, skills, and experience:

    • Typically requires a minimum  of eight (8) years of proressive industry experience,  with at least six (6) years in estimating positions.
    • Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of how these are applied
    • Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques
    • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
    • Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role.

    Civil Project Engineer

    Job Description

    • Responsible for interface management/co-ordination on project
    • Provide specific co-ordination function for the technical change and technical risk process
    • Responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, control and close out of engineering work packages to agreed quality standards and Clients’ satisfaction
    • Ensure the project requirements are in compliance with location specific government rules, regulations and statutes. 
    • To work in a safe manner, complying with and actively contributing to the WOOD Health, Safety and Environmental HSE policies, manuals and procedures. At all times considering the health, safety and welfare of fellow workers, visitors, clients, community and the environment.
    • Accountability for the specific areas of the project budget and schedule. Whilst, contributing to achieving Wood’s profitability targets of the project.

    Responsibilities
    Role Specific Responsibilities

    • Customer/Delivery Focus
    • To support and understudy the Project Engineering Manager in all aspects of engineering management for the project
    • To support the Project Manager in aspects of interface management, co-ordination
    • Ensure that the technical integrity and work scope definition is maintained throughout engineering and construction management activities, by maintaining close co-operation with those functions. 
    • Maintain structured communication with the Suppliers, Contractors and Design Subcontractors on technical and commercial matters.
    • Assist with the scheduling of the work and the development of the project program
    • Ensure effective document control and information management in full compliance to project procedures
    • Assist with the measurement of engineering man-hour efficiency and cost
    • Issue progress, efficiency and technical overview reports (where required)
    • Interface with Engineering Discipline Managers on resource planning, allocation, demobilisation and appraisal, to achieve project and company resource management objectives. Review and monitor engineering performance indicators.
    • Facilitate inter-discipline co-ordination and resolve interface issues between technical disciplines
    • Close out work packages according to procedures, and distribute and archive useful information gained and lessons learnt.
    • Ensure that all engineering documentation and drawings are adequately prepared, filed, secured and transmitted. 
    • Participate in project risk assessments and the maintenance of the project risk register
    • Support the technical and project change management process by co-ordinating technical decision records and project change notices
    • Monitoring and expediting of vendor data in accordance with contract/purchase order requirements

    Qualifications
    Qualifications: 

    • BSc Degree or B Tech Degree with 5 years experience on multi disciplinary projects

    Desirable:

    • Registered as Professional Engineer / Technologist.

    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    Principal Process Engineer

    Job Description

    • To manage the delivery of best practice process plant design and associated in alignment with company organisational objectives and client requirements.
    • To be the prime point of contact for all communications relating to process engineering.
    • To ensure all process work is conducted in a safe manner, complying with and actively contributing to the company Health, Safety and Environmental HSE policies, manuals and procedures.     • Ability to lead and manage teams of process engineers within a diverse study, project or proposal team.
    • Ability to manage activities on or ahead of schedule and on or below budget.
    • Ability to deliver best practice plant design, with emphasis on cost-effective engineering.
    • Ability to communicate process requirements to other members of the study, project or proposal team.
    • Ability to recognise the commercial implications interest in study, project and proposal execution.
    • Ability to prepare and deliver oral and written presentations for study and project reports and proposals.
    • Ability to see and plan across a broad range of project activities.
    • An understanding of strategic and change management and an ability to participate in these processes

    Desirable:
