    Head of Shipping Mr Price Group - Durban

    Job Description

    • This role creates value within the supply chain by leading and managing the complete shipping function for imports and exports. The successful candidate will actively engage with all trading divisions and industry-relevant supply chain partners to ensure Strategic direction and the effective operation of processes and achieve cost efficiency, productivity, and timeline objectives.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategically lead the Shipping Function in the Group
    • Lead and direct the shipping team to achieve key performance indicators.

    • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and AEO requirements. Manage and maintain AEO certification.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Supply Chain Management/ or Supply Chain related advanced qualification.
    • 7-10 years of experience in a Shipping/ Supply Chain environment with 2+ years leading a large shipping or supply chain function or department 
    • AEO certification or equivalent is required - Sufficient Customs Knowledge Assessment qualification.
    • Specific knowledge of Supply chain and logistics processes, Value Chain Management, Analytical/business acumen, Customs Laws, import/export processes and solution building.

    • Analysis & Reporting:
    • Examine area profit and loss to identify any areas of concern and analyse figures in order to maintain expenses in line with budgets. Utilize relevant systems to retrieve data regarding sales and other store metrics in order to make informed decisions and act accordingly. Review store performance in relation to cellular performance and make operational representation to motivate for changes.
    • Analyse and maintain awareness of trading densities in stores to determine feasibility. Prepare quartile reports and provide feedback to operations team.  Compile weekly interim status reports on submit weekly to division. Compile month end reports to provide insights on performance of each store. Update the Daily Performance Tracker (DPT) on findings after every store visit to create awareness of performance.
