About the job

• An exciting vacancy exists at Corporate Office for an experienced Specialist Compliance within the Enterprise Security and Compliance Division.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Manager Enterprise Compliance, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Provide expert input and implement compliance framework and methodology to ensure achievement of business objectives cost effectively and within the regulatory and legislative framework.
• Monitor compliance as per compliance risk management plans.
• Design and build compliance programs to minimise instances of non-compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Delegated Levels of Authority (DLA) according to ACSA framework.
• Monitor compliance to legislation, rules, codes, standards, policies and procedures within relevant area and report issues of non-compliance to Executive Management and relevant committees.
• Ensure the promotion and assessment of the current state of compliance across organisation.
• Develop and implement company compliance profiles.
• Monitor compliance management system to ensure compliance.
• Research best practices in corporate governance to adopt and align it with the organisation's practices.
• Ensure close collaboration of all compliance activities with Risk Management and Internal Audit teams.
• Support continuous research on systems enhancement to improve offering to business.
• Research best practices in corporate governance to adopt and align it with the organisation's practices.
• Report to Management on strategic and operational compliance risks for business.
• Report issues of non-compliance to Management.
• Provide input into the report on compliance status based on company profile.
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external.
• Provide relevant and specialised technical support / advice to relevant stakeholders with regards to risks imposed to ACSA.
• Engage and liaise with senior staff members.

Technical Skills and Experience

• The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
• Post Graduate Diploma (NQF Level 8 - 480 minimum credits) in Law, Auditing or Commerce is essential.
• 6-8 years Compliance Operational experience is essential
• Membership with the Compliance Institute of South Africa is recommended
• Membership with the Institute of Risk Management South Africa is recommended
• MS Office proficiency

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Manager Enterprise Compliance & Enforcement, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Ensure implementation of compliance and strategy to achieve business objectives within the necessary frameworks.
• Provide specialised advice on compliance and related matters.
• Lead compliance as per Compliance Risk Management plans.
• Lead compliance monitoring processes to legislation, rules, codes, standards, policies and procedures within the company and report issues of non-compliance to Executive Management and relevant committees.
• Lead the awareness campaign related to compliance.
• Provide leadership on Compliance for the Board, Executives and Management.
• Develop, review and raise awareness regarding the company’s Compliance Management Policy and Framework.
• Develop a process that will ensure that the ACSA board is continually informed of relevant legislation(s), codes and standards applicable to the organisation.
• Manage the effectiveness and adequacy of risks associated with compliance.
• Institute and maintain an effective Compliance communication program for the organisation to promote Compliance Management.
• Quarterly reporting on compliance status based on company and subsidiary compliance profile.
• Develop and monitor the ACSA Regulatory Universe.
• Monitor and report on issues of non-compliance.
• Effectively manage the compliance function and its objectives in line with approved budgets (operational, capex and labour).
• Manage people development initiatives, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.

Technical Skills and Experience

• The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
• Bachelor’s Degree (3 years – 480 credits (NQF 8) in Law/ Auditing/ Commerce is essential.
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Compliance Management, Risk Management is recommended.
• 6 years operational Compliance and Management experience is essential.
• 2 years Managerial experience in Compliance, including policy writing and reviews is essential.
• MS Office proficiency at Intermediate level.
• Code B Drivers Licence
