Analyze and convert SAP MRP proposals within set time frame to Purchase Orders with main focus on customer service and inventory health.
Action daily MRP messages to meet Business objectives.
Interact across various Teams and Suppliers to solve supply constraints and Customer backorders.
Track and trace Purchase orders / shipments to ensure orderbook alignment and shipments arrive on time.
Maintain Vendor Master and Material Master data.
Liaise across a broad spectrum of Internal Customers.
Establish and maintain excellent business relationships with National and international Suppliers as well as Freight, Clearing and Forwarding agents
Manage and Improve Supplier performance through active engagement and measurements (Submision of Vendor schedules, Forecasts, Supplier performance on stock turns, excess stock, on-time deliveries, parts availability, annual stock returns and aligning orderbooks monthly as per MRP requirement and Supplier feedback.)
Manage inventory stock levels efficiently & effectively as per stocking policies as mandated by Management (excess inventory, stock turns, fill rate, availability)
Negotiate on annual stock returns to Suppliers and manage the process until credit received.
Raise claims against Suppliers and obtain credits within agreed time frame for damaged stock, shortages and overshipments.
Monitor & manage own performance
Reduce risk and cost (lead time reduction, airfreight reduction, healthy inventory, delinquent suppliers etc)
Assist team members where required to achieve department KPI's
Effectively resolve queries timeously
REQUIREMENTS:
NQF 4, studying towards NQF 6 in Industrial Engineering; or Supply Chain- / Financial- / Business Management.
Microsoft office package (pivot tables, v-look up, spread sheets, graphs),
Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in the Automotive / Earthmoving or similar environment, with a minimum of 2 years dealing with large and complex Suppliers.
