Role Purpose

• Manages, organizes, and develops the Field Services department, with a high level of technical complexity and with a broad scope, leading to the achievement of short/medium- and long-term business objectives. Focus is on delivering financial results and operational targets within own functional area. Willingness to be available on 24/7 basis and do extensive travel is essential.

Your responsibilities

Leadership

• Lives, promotes the TEACH values.
• Provides leadership for a department/function with a relatively high level of technical complexity.
• Manage and coordinate multiple teams in various locations.
• Seek synergies between teams and optimize performance on a continuous basis across local teams and within the global FLS.
• Develops the leaders within the team and ensures succession planning is implemented and executed.
• Selects high performing employees in order to build and secure an effective function / department.
• Provides leadership to employees by coaching and ensuring they have a clear understanding of performance level expected.
• Drives employees’ performance by conducting Performance and Development Reviews and designs individual development programs in order to secure employees are able and capable to perform, and agreed departmental goals are met.

Operational

• Manages, plans and prioritizes resources across own area of responsibility to meet functional business objectives.
• Defines monitors and follows up on cross-functional activities to ensure targets are met.
• Fosters global interaction within FLSmidth and Customer base.
• Overall responsible for the assets allocated to  this department, i.e., vehicles, tooling, equipment, etc.
• Own department strategic plans and executes strategic projects as required.

Financial / Business Targets

• Prepares departmental/functional/regional plans on a tactical/operational level to ensure objectives are set and tasks prioritized.
• Sets department/functional budget and ensures that agreed targets are met and that all activities are carried out within set budgets.
• Manages O&M contracts allocated to this function by ensuring deliverables are met and commercial excellence is achieved.
• Reports on the performance of the function on a regular basis.

HSE

• Lives and promotes the HSE values.
• Carries the 16.2 appointment for the extended function.
• Ensures adherence to FLSmidth’s safety policy and follows up on compliance within own area of responsibility.
• Collaborates with the HSE department to ensure compliance and a culture of pro-active safety is fostered and promoted.

Business Development

• Develops the Field Service, O&M & project support functions.
• Continually seek opportunities to expand the Field Service footprint.
• Ability to formulate, cost & execute complex maintenance agreements (SLA’s, O&M contracts).

What you bring

Requirements, skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree, engineering diploma & trade or equivalent.
• Leadership qualification i.e., MDP or equivalent.
• At least 10 years management experience of which 5 years in a senior role.
• At least 10 years in a similar Field Service Management function.
• Financial Acumen.
• Negotiation skills.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of FLS core products is essential.
• General Business understanding.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Purpose of the role

• Responsible for supporting an Artisan Fitter with fitting activities.

Your responsibilities
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Support an Artisan Fitter with fitting activities.
• The ability to keep records.
• The ability to understand and read detailed drawings and make the necessary calculations.
• The ability to assemble machinery.
• The ability to use tools and gas equipment.
• Fitting structural components together.
• Troubleshoot and repair a malfunctioning system.
• Knowledge and basic understanding of the roles of a Fitter.
• Ability to work under pressure, overtime and on standby.
• Good housekeeping management.
• Adhere to FLSmidth HSE policies and procedure and in accordance with customers’ requirements.
• Willing to work outside of your Job Specification.
• Willing to work as a team player.
• Good Communication skills.
• Attention to details.

What you bring

• Grade 12.
• N2 Engineering will be advantageous.
• 2 years’ experience as a Fitter Assistant.
• 2 years’ working in an Engineering Environment.
