Duties and Responsibilities

• Determine stock to be merchandised
• Draw stock requirements
• Check vintage, product quality on the shelf, stock rotation, and price tags
• Execute merchandising activities as per cycle brief
• Provide feedback on customer complaints, queries, and requests
• Communicate and maintain knowledge of products and promotions
• Accurately record merchandising activities
• Execute calls as per call cycle

What We’re Looking For

• Aged 18–28 years
• NCV Level 4 or N6 TVET Certificate
• Looking to complete a workplace experience internship
• No work experience needed – we’ll teach you!
• Willing to learn, grow, and work in a professional environment

Duration

• N6 TVET Internship: 18 months
• NCV Level 4 Internship: 12 months

• We’re seeking a commercially minded and highly organised Off-Consumption Trade Marketing Coordinator to join our Marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys transforming marketing strategies into impactful promotions, activations and in-store experiences.
• You will work closely with Marketing, Sales, customers, clients and suppliers to strengthen brand visibility, support sales growth and ensure the successful execution of trade marketing activities across retail and wholesale channels.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate trade marketing campaigns, customer promotions and brand activations across off-consumption channels.
• Translate approved marketing plans into clear execution requirements for Sales teams, customers and suppliers.
• Coordinate promotional mechanics, timelines, communication and supporting materials.
• Manage the development, ordering, allocation and distribution of point-of-sale materials.
• Monitor promotional and in-store execution, following up on gaps and areas requiring improvement.
• Support customer-specific marketing initiatives that strengthen brand visibility and the shopper experience.
• Ensure trade marketing activities and materials align with approved brand standards and applicable liquor advertising requirements.
• Track trade marketing expenditure and assist with the reconciliation of promotional, supplier and POSM-related costs.
• Monitor POSM stock levels, availability and utilisation.
• Capture competitor activity, promotional trends and relevant market insights.
• Compile accurate trade marketing activity, execution and performance reports.
• Build effective working relationships with Sales, Marketing, customers, clients and suppliers.
• Manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders and competing deadlines effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Commerce or a related field.
• 2-4 years’ experience in trade marketing, marketing coordination, sales support or brand activation.
• Experience within the FMCG, liquor, retail or a related industry.
• Strong project coordination, planning and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and relevant marketing or reporting systems.
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Willingness to travel to customers, outlets and activations when required.
• A Cape Wine Academy, WSET, Sommelier or equivalent wine-related qualification would be beneficial.
