WHAT YOU WILL DO

• The product support in Optimized Mill Linings should act as the primary link among Market Area / End Customers, Business Line specialists and Supply Chain. The Product Support should provide extensive product and application knowledge within workgroups to find value added solutions.

The key accountabilities and responsibilities are:

• Support Technical Sales Support (TSS)/Market Area (MA) to identify the customer's objectives and get the appropriate value addition / sales arguments for the solutions through to the customer
• Visit customers to support TSS/MA when required. The position involves up to 30% of travel
• Identify opportunities for liner design application and optimization, including selection of material, profiles, liner size and layouts
• Take ownership, following customers for longer period, developing detailed knowledge
• Follow-up on results and monitor what we predict and reach, wear and mill performance
• Utilize results from wear analysis and simulations, cooperating with Value Creation and Application Support to give performance guarantees, show value and promote solutions to MA and customers as required
• Support quality / warranty claims investigation and resolution, involving related teams
• Support the making of reference cases. Pro-actively setting up the optimization projects in a way that allows us to use the experiences from a project and success stories to support our future business
• Support development and conversion to performance-based Life Cycle Services (LCS) concept, including shared risk/reward models
• Execute MLB product strategy for sales growth and profitability with MA in the defined area
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical local plans consistent with the global MLB strategies
• Monitor industry trends and customer feedback to stay ahead of market needs and competitor strategies
• Translate market insights into actionable strategies to boost product positioning and customer retention
• Ensure fulfillment of all QEHS rules and regulations of Metso and Customers

WHO YOU ARE

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BSc. or MSc. in Metallurgy, Process, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years proven track record in mill lining products, business operations, exposure to technology and services for mining and leadership
• Familiarity with grinding processes, relining procedures, and maintenance
• Comprehensive product and application expertise, with a focus on solutions
• Exceptional service orientation with the autonomy to lead or collaborate within diverse teams.
• Show a high level of communication and customer service skills
• Full working proficiency in English
• Have a strong focus on safety, built on transparent and open communication
• Have the ability to travel as required by Motor Vehicle or Commercial Flights up to 30% of time

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Manage projects ranging from low to high complexity, ensuring that engineering-released packages are activated in SAP, including creating allocations in the PS module for the scope released by engineering
• Collaborate with global teams in supply chain, engineering, procurement, and logistics to ensure successful project execution
• Create and monitor all purchasing requisitions within SAP, ensuring accurate budget maintenance and project financial flow. Maintaining the project’s costs and revenues in SAP will be the sole responsibility of this professional
• Collect and document lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle for continuous improvement and process optimization
• Conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders, reporting progress, risks, and corrective actions clearly and effectively in both Spanish and English. Basic knowledge of Portuguese is desirable
• Manage relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and quality project deliveries
• Implement risk mitigation plans and ensure compliance with local and international standards
• Defend the interests of the Business Area and safeguard the profitability of the projects
• Demonstrate a high capacity to identify requirements from the early stages of the project and ensure that final deliverables meet contractual requirements

WHO YOU ARE

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree in Engineering. An MBA in Project Management will be considered an asset
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with solid experience in the mining sector in Africa
• Experience in international projects with interfaces outside Africa will be highly valued
• Proficiency in SAP, especially in the MM (Materials Management), PS (Project Systems), and SD (Sales and Distribution) modules
• Proven ability to quantify and mobilize the necessary organizational resources for executing large-scale projects
• Proven experience in managing complex stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal areas such as engineering and procurement
• Experience managing projects in global companies and multicultural environments
• Knowledge of regulatory practices in the mining sector in the African continent
• Flexibility to work on projects outside of Africa according to global demands
• Availability for international travel to visit clients, suppliers, and other organizational offices with which the professional will have constant interface
• Understanding and experience in tracking KPIs such as On-Time Delivery, On-Time Payment, and Net Sales
