    Storeperson - Port Elizabeth

    The Storeperson will receive and issue stock ensuring smooth and efficient running of the warehouse
    Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Assist with the Offloading and loading of goods
    • Put away of all items received into allocated locations by day's end and notification of relevant staff / depts. of goods received
    • Reconcile receipt of all goods and materials and process documentation according to procedure
    • Receiving of all inbound product as per procedure - such as Purchase orders, Transfer orders and internal movements to the Warehouse.
    • Resolve all documentation / delivery queries / concerns relating to but not limited to purchase order and transfer orders immediately with Purchasing department
    • Co-ordinating the loading of goods and materials
    • Report any queries to management before goods leave the warehouse
    • Support all internal departments with issuing of stock / non-stock items, WIP job cage material and consignment stock (Including satellite stores - Tool store, Welding store, paint store, Internal Masloc and Mine stocks) as per operational requirements.
    • Assist with the loading of goods and materials
    • Ensure that all packaging and related materials are of an appropriate standard - refer to NOV specifications & standards

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • Stores and Inventory Management, Warehousing Management or Logistics.

    Experience

    • Controlling Stores / Warehouse duties within a heavy engineering environment
    • Min 5 Years’ experience
    • Computer literate – Word and Excel
    • Valid 3 ton forklift licence
    • Lifting equipment
    • Welding consumables
    • Cutting; Inserts; Tools

    Hydraulics Engineer (Equipment Controls)

    As Hydraulic Engineer you will be joining our Port Elizabeth team responsible for hydraulic design and technical documentation on various equipment for new and existing markets. Our customers are oil and rig companies, rig operators and renewable-energy industry.  We have a broadly composed professional environment with heavy expertise in the following disciplines: Mechanical, hydraulics, pipe design & layout, automation, electrical / instrumentation as well as structure calculation. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design and calculation of hydraulic systems and components in accordance with international standards and regulations 
    • Prepare Hydraulics Flow Diagram, bills of material, technical documentation, and test procedures and engineering reports
    • Contribute to standardization of hydraulic system / components and conduct improved quality, environment, and safety
    • Comply with and perform NOV Quality Management System processes and procedures 
    • The positions also include versatile and varied engineering work, a close cooperation with other departments and disciplines within NOV 
    • Some travel activities will be expected

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • We are looking for engineers with a Master's or Bachelor's education (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or other equivalent and relevant experience

    SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

    • Understanding of hydraulic theory and the ability to apply knowledge in the design of hydraulic circuits 
    • Hydraulic experience theoretical and practical with land and offshore drill floor and auxiliary equipment preferred (Desirable)
    • Knowledge of hydraulic components and suppliers in the market (Essential)
    • Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and computer skills (Essential)
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical principles and equipment operation to other stakeholders

    Sales/Production Estimator (Port Elizabeth)

    As Sales/Production Estimator in the Production division you will be responsible to provide accurate quote estimates based on a defined scope of work, supporting external quotation activities and processes, upon request from various internal departments/divisions, in line with NOV quality standards and specifications. Quote estimates can range from manufacturing of new or repair of existing equipment, which includes material, consumables, internal labour and outside vendor services. Internal labour activities include the disciplines of Machining, Fabrication, Welding, NDE, Coating, Assembly and Testing.

    • Generate/Distribute manufacturing/repair quote estimates based on the defined scope of work.
    • Request quotations from suppliers/outside vendors (material / consumables / services).
    • Monitor & analyze quote estimates during and upon completion of projects.
    • Maintain a record of project estimated data.
    • Work closely with Production Planning and department managers/supervisors on updating projects for customer requirements.
    • Ensure all incoming customer purchase orders are captured within the ERP system.
    • Support Sales Team/CRR’s with following-up on delivery dates and billing.

    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

    • Grade 12 with relevant apprenticeship in related trade (Turning, Milling, Welding or Boilermaker preferred) and / or engineering related tertiary qualification an advantage
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering, Planning and /or Project Management.
    • Sound knowledge of welding, machining and NDE, processes favourable for estimation related activities.
    • Estimation and budgeting of engineering / manufacturing projects

    Technical/System

    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • RigDoc knowledge, basic to advanced knowledge level preferable
    • Proficiency preferred in NOV systems including, Tracker, RigOffice, Team Centre, ERP (Glovia)
    • Interpret schematics, drawings and bill of materials

    General Ledger Accountant (Cape Town)

    The GL Accountant is a centralized role managing various ledgers across Africa, analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements. All while ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting control procedures, NOV policy and local statutory requirements across different regions within Africa. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    GENERAL

    • Monthly reconciliation of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledger accounts
    • Balance GL to AR and AP sub-system balances
    • Process all payments and receipts via the ERP system and reconcile statements
    • Obtain IC invoices and supporting documents from IC partners
    • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
    • Ensure that the General Ledger and Fixed Asset/Lease sub-systems are aligned
    • Apply technical knowledge to the capitalization and decapitalization of assets
    • Ensure additions and disposals to fixed assets/leases are recorded accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the entity’s policy
    • Quarterly lease expense reconciliations and submission to Corporate Head Office.
    • Ensure inventory sub-systems to GL balance on a monthly basis
    • Prepare and process all relevant journals with appropriate supporting information ▪ Ensure the accounting records correctly reflect the results of business units’ financial position
    • Maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliations in line with corporate requirements ▪ Follow up on corrections and clearing of any required balance sheet reconciling items within appropriate timelines
    • Analyze revenue and expenses so they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis and report on variance
    • Provide Operations with all financial information and analysis to support management decisions.
    • Organize and preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly financials that meet the NOV reporting requirements in terms of quality of accounting, deadlines and documentation of controls.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting or Finance. (essential)
    • Professional Accountant (SA), AGA (SA) (desired)

    Experience

    •  2-3 years accounting experience (essential)
    • SAIPA/SAICA Articles/formal accounting training, knowledge of IFRS (essential)
    • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX reporting. (Advantageous)
