    Temp Africa AP Accountant

    Job Description

    • NOV Africa is looking for a skilled Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to support our Finance team in Cape Town on a temporary contract.
    • This is a centralized AP role for all JDE ledgers across Africa and in this role you will be responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure compliance with appropriate accounting controls and procedures, in line with NOV and local statutory requirements. 

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Accounts Payable

    • Manage supplier email accounts and clear out invoices daily to JDE. 
    • Obtain coding for all expenses and ensure transactions allocated correctly. 
    • Process all AP invoices and supporting documents accurately and on time through TAP.
    • Ensure that all taxes are accurately calculated, accounted for, and withheld. 
    • Work with suppliers and teams in country to ensure any queries are resolved timeously. 
    • Ensure compliance of expense approvals in line with DOA limits for all transactions.
    • Ensure only authorized suppliers are used.

    Inter-Company and Foreign Payments Process

    • Obtain IC invoices and supporting documents from Controllers/IC partners and process. 
    • Obtain coding for all expenses and ensure transactions allocated correctly. 
    • Ensure compliance of expense approval and authorisation for all IC transactions.

    Payments

    • Prepare 3rd party and intercompany payments for all countries in line with centralized payments process and monthly schedule on a weekly basis.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • QUALIFICATIONS: Tertiary level administration or finance qualification.
    • EXPERIENCE: General administration, analyst and accounting experience.

    Mechanical Designer

    Job Description

    • NOV Energy Equipment is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team based in Gqeberha.
    • In this role you will support project leaders and engineers in component selection and layout design for innovative products and systems.
    • This role involves preparing detailed drawings, analyzing design feasibility, and contributing to system development while ensuring adherence to company procedures and customer requirements.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist Project Leader, Senior Designer or Design Engineer in selection of the simpler components and the design details for inclusion in the project/product design.
    • Layout and design specific areas as assigned per the Company procedures and standards.
    • Design general arrangements or base systems based on customer needs and requirements.
    • Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
    • Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout with detailed drawings and schematics.
    • Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical content.
    • Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes.
    • Assist in systems development as required, such as drafting standards, parts list systems, computer programming.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 5-years of design experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
    • Minimum 5-years of CAD experience.
    • Experience with designing pressure vessels is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T) to detail part drawings for manufacture.

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Proficiency in using Creo (Pro-Engineer) is a plus  
    • Proficiency in using Windchill/PDM system is a huge plus.
    • Experience with Teamcenter is a huge plus.
    • Understanding of the manufacturing processes. 
    • Familiarity with Pressure Vessel Designs is a huge plus.

    Electrical Design Engineer

    Job Description

    • NOV Energy Equipment, Rig Equipment are seeking an Electrical Engineer who will perform a variety of electrical engineering tasks designing, planning, and overseeing the design and development of electrical components, systems and Control Systems.
    • We work closely with several other disciplines to increase the total value of the products and services that NOV can offer.
    • Being part of a global resource pool, your tasks and assignments may vary depending on NOV needs and priorities.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research, develop, and design Electrical and electronic interface circuitry for control of products.
    • Work with customers (internal/external) and review project defining documents to understand project requirements.
    • Create and/or design electrical drawings and documentation. (Typical; block diagram, termination diagram, electrical schematic, interconnect, cabling, and assembly drawings and BOMs.)
    • Ensure electrical scope and content is defined during initial design processes.
    • Provide electrical leadership in preparation, and ensure that deliverables projects are controlled with regard to scope, schedule, budget, performing appraisal, etc.
    • Establish design criteria for deliverables using required codes and standards.
    • Review contractual content to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure subsequent design changes are documented and transmitted as required to internal and external resources.
    • Participate in design review.
    • Provide manufacturing with technical assistance.
    • Provide technical support during testing.
    • Review and approve engineering documentation provided by external groups.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Knowledge of offshore design standards is beneficial but not essential
    • Experience with design and engineering of Ex (hazardous area) equipment is desirable.
    • Experience from using AutoCAD design tool will be an advantage
    • Knowledge and experience in Teams Centre Siemens (Desirable)
    • Having a professional letter/certification in electrical, automation, etc. is an advantage
    • Knowledge and experience with Explosion Proof equipment preferred (Desirable)
    • Generally good IT knowledge and experience from using relevant software

    • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical documentation.
    • Experience with product databases, ERP, and PLM systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, advanced Excel).
    • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Strong communication skills in English.

    Software Engineer (Pressure Control Equipment)

    • NOV Rig Equipment South Africa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer (Pressure Control Equipment) to join our team of Engineers.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Develop Software Design Specification for NOV BOP control system in collaboration with the engineering team and customer.
    • Write logic for PLC software used to monitor and control a BOP and its auxiliary systems.
    • Design and program an HMI Application used on a BOP and its auxiliary systems.
    • Perform internal test and customer FAT of BOP control system software.
    • Troubleshoot and Debug software and provide remote field support when needed.

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Competency in programming Rockwell AADvance PLC, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell Logic family of controllers, and/or GE Fanuc PLC platforms.
    • Experience with FT View SE and ME. Cimplicity or other HMI software experience a plus.
    • Experience with Siemens WinCC OA is a plus.
    • Industrial Networking – Ethernet IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.
    • BOP operation and functionality knowledge a plus.
