What will you do?
We are offering an opportunity to graduates who are looking to start their career as a Business Analyst. It will be a 12 month contract position allowing the incumbent to gain relevant work experience in the financial services industry. The individual will be exposed to training and gain experience within the Change Portfolio Team of Sanlam Individual Life.
Output/Core Tasks:
Identify, analyse and define business requirements for long term insurance quotations and New Business; Write the Business Requirements Specification (BRS); Prepare and use case specifications supported by appropriate diagrams with the identifications of test conditions and ensure integration of changes into process environment.
Conduct post implementation reviews to ensure that processes have been successfully implemented, are being adhered to and identify any refinements required.
Understand the interrelation of processes between different areas of the company and formulate recommendations, where appropriate, for reform and improvement of these process flows.
Make recommendations for the enhancement or replacement of existing software and/or home-grown solutions / applications used within SIL with modern, practical, cost-effective solutions in order to give SIL a competitive edge.
Identify opportunities where new technology; digital developments and/or automation can be value adding in SIL.
Develop and maintain work management and resource planning statistics for departments and seek to continually improve and monitor the integrity of the underlying data.

South African citizenship
Newly graduated, (graduating end 2021)
Qualifications:
Completing studies (Final year) towards BSc./B Comm. in Informatics or Information Technology or Software Engineering, IT, Maths/Stats qualifications.
Knowledge and Experience:
Practical experience of implementing new technology; digitisation; automation; etc.
Application of project management principles
Excellent MS Excel skills.

What will you do?
This is a specialist administration position that reports directly to the Head of Claims and Underwriting. The role is responsible for supporting the claims department in, tracking claims workflow and tasks, including tracking of outstanding requirements in collaboration with Assessors, and updating/monitoring the claims register to ensure accurate MIS and that claims are processed as quickly as possible for clients.
Key responsibilities include;
Understand the claims notification, assessment, decisioning (outcomes) and payment processes, steps and requirements.
Take note of all new claims (notified) being received from Service Dept for processing by Assessors
Work actively (daily) on the Claims Register to track the status and flow of all steps required by Assessors in finalising claims including;
a. Check that all new claims are updated on the register, and TE system. Verification of client/policy
b. Track the submission of client information and claims related documentation.
c. Monitor stages and associated steps of the claim processing including;
Fulfilment: assessment, capturing, early knock off, claims committee decisions, underwriting investigation, payment
For all the above check that actions and feedback have been updated on Claims Register
Draw daily reports (i.e.: TE) to check new cases, as well as do evaluation on the status of cases for all Assessors as per the processes above
Remind and encourage progress by compiling and sending emails/phone to all Assessors on un-updated fields, overdue documentation, unattended claims. Request feedback. Record feedback for follow-up.
Work closely/feedback to the Claims Team Leader and Head of Claims and Underwriting to :
a. flag specific problems that need to be escalated for action.
b. Identify trends and patterns that need to be addressed upon to improve the overall claims process
Liaise and communicate claims related updates to Re-insurer.
Outsourced claims service providers:
Communicate, support and co-ordinate with external claims service providers processing claims for MiWayLife.
Track/evaluate the progress of outsourced claims, follow up/feedback as required.
Update Claims Register accordingly/integrate information for total claims ‘picture’.
Report as needed to management.

Post 12-grade Qualification will be advantageous
Experience in financial administration, preferably claims

MS: Office (Excel~ advanced, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of Thought Express (TE) will be advantageous, but not a precondition.

Individuals who joined the industry prior to 2010 must have obtained their 30 or 60 credits or alternatively obtained a full qualification as per the FSCA’s list of recognized qualifications.
Individuals who joined the industry from 2010 must have obtained a full qualification (120 Credits at NQF Level 4 for Categories B1 and B2) as per the FSCA's list of recognized qualifications at the point of recruitment.
It would be advantageous for the individual to meet the following criteria but not compulsory: In order to register for the Retail Pensions Category the Manager must have obtained a full qualification (120 Credits. at NQF level 4 would be required and NQF level 5 would be advantageous Categories B1 and B2) as per the FSCA's list of recognized qualifications at the point of recruitment.

Class of business (COB):
Should the candidate have been deemed Fit and Proper for Tier 1 by 01 April 2018, the candidate is then deemed competent for Class of Business. All applicants that were still under supervision for any competency requirement pre or post 01 April 2018 will be required to have obtained Class of Business prior to appointment. If a potential candidate has not completed Class of Business they are still deemed to be under supervision and cannot be appointed as a Sales Manager.
