    Principal Project Engineer

    Purpose of Role:

    • The Principal Project Engineer is responsible for the technical and project execution delivery of capital project orders and contracts, from initiation through to close-out.
    • The role ensures that projects are delivered in line with contractual scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and governance requirements, with a strong focus on engineering excellence, project controls, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leadership & People Management: Provide technical and delivery leadership to project engineers and cross‑functional teams, supporting performance management, coaching, and capability development. Mentor less‑experienced engineers, contribute to objective setting and performance reviews, and support the development of strong technical, commercial, and safety leadership aligned with project and business requirements.
    • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Lead strategic engagement with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted technical and delivery interface. Own senior‑level customer interactions on complex technical, commercial, and delivery matters, including site engagements and executive discussions where required. Establish and enforce structured communication frameworks to ensure alignment, transparency, and proactive issue management. Resolve customer and stakeholder issues decisively, balancing contractual obligations, commercial outcomes, and long‑term relationship value.
    • Project & Contract Execution: Assume end‑to‑end accountability for the execution of capital projects from initiation through close‑out, ensuring disciplined delivery in line with approved scope, schedule, and budget. Define and own integrated project execution strategies, including resourcing, governance, milestones, and delivery sequencing. Lead cross‑functional coordination across engineering, planning, manufacturing, supply chain, site services, and external partners to ensure seamless execution and delivery certainty.
    • Project Management, Technical & Engineering Delivery: Provide senior technical and project leadership by applying recognised project management frameworks and engineering best practices to control scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, and change. Establish robust performance monitoring, reporting, and escalation mechanisms. Lead complex technical solution development, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, engineering standards, constructability, and contractual obligations. Act as a key decision‑maker in resolving technical, quality, and execution risks across the project lifecycle.
    • Financial, Commercial, Reporting & CloseOut Accountability: Own financial and commercial performance at project level, including cost control, forecasting accuracy, cash flow, and margin protection. Partner closely with project controls and finance to achieve milestone delivery and cash collection targets. Govern contractual change management, ensuring variations are identified early, evaluated rigorously, and implemented in line with delegation of authority and governance requirements. Ensure disciplined project close‑out, including customer acceptance, documentation, handover, and post‑project review.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; PMP Certification or equivalent project management qualification (preferred).
    • Project Management Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Capital Project execution within an engineering, Manufacturing, Mining, Project House, or PMO environment, including at least 5 years in a lead project management or senior project engineering capacity.
    • Industry Experience: Proven experience managing small, medium, and large‑scale projects end‑to‑end, from project initiation through to contractual close‑out, with demonstrated ownership of delivery outcomes across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk. Experience working within mineral processing equipment, process plant, or material handling environments.
    • Governance & Contracts: Proven experience working within contract‑driven and governance‑controlled project environments, including application of formal project governance frameworks, change control, and delegation of authority. Demonstrated capability in interpreting and managing contractual obligations, variations, and risk exposure, while protecting commercial outcomes and ensuring compliance with internal and external governance requirements.

    Automation Solution Designer/Architect

    Purpose of Role: 

    • As an Automation Solutions Designer/Architect, you will be a key architect of Weir’s Group Digital & Automation ecosystem, defining how integrations, automation, AI, and process intelligence come together to support global operations at scale.
    • You will lead the design of end-to-end architectures spanning enterprise integrations, process automation, user experience automation, and agentic capabilities, connecting internal and external applications through robust, APIled and event-driven patterns.
    • By leveraging platforms such as MuleSoft, UiPath, Power Platform, Salesforce, Workday, S4 Hanna, and Celonis, you will ensure that automation initiatives are tightly aligned with business strategy, deliver measurable efficiency and control, and support critical functions across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial domains.

    Key Responsibilities:  

    • Defining and owning end-to-end solution architectures across automation, process mining, integration, Agentic AI, and cloud platforms; Translating business strategy and outcomes into pragmatic, scalable technical architectures.  
    • Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain leaders to identify automation opportunities and shape demand; Leading process analysis and redesign, using process mining and data insights to determine what and what not to automate.  
    • Architecting large-scale automation solutions, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and compliance; Driving API-led and event-driven automation, avoiding fragile point solutions and UI-only automations.  
    • Setting architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails to reduce complexity and increase reuse; Influencing technology selection and platform strategy across automation, integration, and AI ecosystems.  
    • Guiding delivery teams in Agile and DevOps environments, providing architectural direction throughout the delivery lifecycle; Supporting change management, ensuring automation adoption is successful and sustainable.  
    • Developing playbooks, reusable templates, and reference architectures to scale automation across the enterprise; Tracking, measuring, and communicating business impact, KPIs, and value realisation  
    • Staying current with AI, agentic automation, and emerging technologies, identifying where innovation can safely accelerate value.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:  

    • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline, with extensive experience in solution or enterprise architecture focused on integration and automation. 
    • Proven delivery of largescale automation and agentic initiatives, beyond pilots and proofs of concept, including handson experience with process mining, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, and APIbased, eventdriven, and messagebased integration architectures. 
    • Strong cloud and platform experience, including designing and running cloudnative solutions, working with enterprise integration platforms, and delivering in global, crossfunctional, agile environments across multiple stakeholders, vendors, and technology platforms. 
    • Demonstrated change and stakeholder leadership, with experience driving transformation programmes, managing complex initiatives, engaging stakeholders effectively, and maintaining a strong sense of ownership and architectural integrity. 
    • Strong SAP experience.

    Engineer: Jnr Projects

    Purpose of Role:

    • The Junior Project Engineer supports the execution and delivery of capital project orders and contracts, from internal project handover through to customer project handover.
    • The role focuses on coordinating technical, commercial, and administrative project activities to ensure delivery in line with contractual scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and governance requirements, under the guidance of senior project personnel.

    Key Responsibilities: Safety & Governance

    • Comply with all statutory HSE, housekeeping, and 5S requirements.
    • Adhere to the Company’s Duty of Care Policy at all times.
    • Ensure project activities are executed in compliance with departmental SOPs and work guides.

    Project & Contract Coordination

    • Coordinate and manage project activities from internal project receipt through to customer project handover.
    • Review and implement contract terms and conditions within delegated authority.
    • Monitor and control project costs and risks in line with contractual requirements.
    • Drive, coordinate, and manage projects against agreed schedules to ensure on-time delivery.

    Technical & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Engage with customers on technical and commercial matters under supervision.
    • Engage with internal product specialists and sales teams across applicable product lines.
    • Coordinate with branches, locally and regionally, to support transport, commissioning, and site activities.

    Planning, Reporting & Close-Out

    • Plan and schedule project activities throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Provide regular project status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinate project documentation, including data packs and Operation & Maintenance manuals.
    • Support post-project negotiations and close-out activities.

    Collaboration & Values

    • Collaborate with the Projects team, share knowledge, and actively endorse and demonstrate the Weir Values.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

    Experience Requirements

    • 1- 3 years’ experience in a project engineering or project coordination environment.
    • Exposure to engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments is advantageous.

    Technical & Professional Skills

    • Basic understanding of project management principles and contract administration.
    • Strong communication and coordination skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP exposure advantageous.

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid Driver’s Licence.
    • Willingness to travel to project and customer sites as required.
