    Business Development Manager - Midrand

    As a Business Development Manager supporting optometrists, you will be trusted to work on managing the development of sales of contact lenses in line with company objectives. Furthermore, to create customer partnership relationships to develop their business. Contact lenses market shares in Johannesburg North, Johannesburg West and Free State.

    In this role, a typical day will include:

    • Achievement of Sales Targets and Market Share growth by product portfolio
    •   Complete Sales Management of all customers within the region providing a principle point of contact for Vision Care with the overall aim of developing and growing long-term sales.
    •  Detailing of new products and marketing initiatives to the account base in a targeted way.
    • Conducting training sessions with external clients e.g. Eye Care Professionals.
    • Planning and management of Operational Effectiveness to ensure the most effective territory management.
    • Feedback market intelligence to sales and marketing management.
    • Implement quarterly business reviews with Key Accounts
    • Ensuring all other territory administration is completed efficiently as necessary.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

    • Sales background preferred, but not essential
    • Strong experience in a similar commercial and multinational business is ideal
    • Optometrist experience or background
    • Optometrist education or Sales bachelor´s degree is highly appreciated
    • High learning agility and adaptability
    • Commercial or business mindset or knowledge
    • Fluent English. Afrikaans is an advantage
    • Driving License

    Field Service Engineer - Cape Town

    As a Field Service Engineer you are a member of the African leadership team. You will be based in Cape Town and will be RESPONSIBLE FOR carrying out installation, emergency repair, preventive maintenance and performing retrofits and upgrades on Alcon surgical equipment. You will support the customer satisfaction within the assigned territory by providing the highest level of service. In this role, a typical work includes:

    • Complete preventative maintenance routine as scheduled and per contract conditions, as well as emergency calls. Test repaired instruments in all operating modes and demonstrates that repaired instruments operate at Alcon’s specifications. Minimize instrument failure call back.
    • Ensure field retrofits are carried out before due date and share resultant benefits and changes with customers.
    • Responsible for customer satisfaction on assigned territory. Ensures a high level of communication with customers, sales force, Clinical Applications and operations within the operating region, to ensure customer needs are rapidly addressed.
    • Communicates equipment problems, quality issues and customer concerns to the appropriate in-house personal within the established guidelines. Consult with local and international management on chronic or unusual problems.
    • Responsible for controlling expenses within budgeted guidelines.
    • Support spare parts management, including the timely return of strategic spare part cores. Maintain minimal spare parts inventory while achieving high customer service. Maintain inventory turnover goals for the area/region.
    • Ensure all resources (parts, tools etc.) are available for successful customer call completion.
    • Strategically promote, educate and market Alcon services to customers.
    • Ensure accurate service reporting and CRM system management. Provides timely and accurate service documentation following all field activity performed.
    • Provide feedback to the sales force and management team and inform about any commercial opportunity. Feedback may include customer, competitor and market information gained through customer contact.
    • Achieve technical training certifications to meet requirements and scope of responsibilities.
    • Properly manages company assets (Company vehicle, test equipment, computer, etc.)
    • Maintain and support GMP/QMS and any local regulation requirement.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

    • Bachelors degree in electronic or electrical
    • Experience in maintenance <+ 3 years
    • Availability to travel internationally and domestically (85%)
    • English is mandatory (fluent)
