    Laboratory Analyst (C2)

    • Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
    • The successful applicant will report to the Laboratory Practitioner or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Maths and Science.
    • National Diploma: Analytical Chemistry.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 1 year practical experience in Laboratory Analyst (included in qualification (P1/P2)).

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Analyse routine and non-routine samples for chemical composition, with the purpose of product quality verification using various advanced analytical equipment and techniques.
    • Prepare samples for Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) analysis by adhering to procedures to ensure accuracy and preciseness to fine tolerances.
    • Calibration of all analytical instruments (ICP, pH, turbidity, moisture content machine, balances) to ensure accuracy. Oversee annual specialist calibration of machines.
    • Conduct chemical analysis on provided samples using laboratory equipment, applying laboratory analytical knowledge, skills and experience and accurately record data as required. Prepare and certify stock solutions to be used during chemical analysis to ensure quality requirements are met.
    • Allocate work to subordinates and monitor performance.
    • Perform risk assessment when required by following risk assessment checklists and procedures.

    • Ensure pH is recorded, neutralized, and disposed as a generated waste acid in the laboratory as per the legal requirements.
    • Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained according to Laboratory Quality Manual through own (ICP) or delegated (other) to plant operators, and follow-up closely.
    • Compile monthly comparison reports on the ICP, XRF and Round Robin results to ensure proficiency.

    TMM Team Leader (B5) (Plant)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Supervisor Machines (TMM) or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
    • TMM Licences “A” Dover.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 1-year practical experience in Heavy Vehicle Operator experience within a heavy industry / mining / production environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Analyse Assist the Supervisor Machines (TMM) by ensuring operators and TMM equipment are available (surface plant environment). Ensure discipline and instructions given by self and/or supervisor machines are adhered to. Ensure correct work allocation of all subordinates in order to ensure safe achievements of department/functional requirements.
    • Ensure Correct levels of beams, Spillage stock management. Maintain housekeeping in stockpile area. Operate and maintain product and ROM stockpiles safely Ensure discard stockpiles is maintained and operated safely. Ensure all stockpiles are in safe condition for operation and surveying. Ensure operational and efficiency of silt traps by regular cleaning and following procedures.
    • Ensure task allocated and instructions given by self/ or supervisor are adhered to according to DCM safe operating procedures. Enforce discipline amongst Machine Operators through effective supervision.
    • Ensure TMM documentation control is in order by following procedures.
    • Track training and expiry dates of licenses and compliance.

    Safety Officer (C5)

    • Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
    • The successful applicant will report to the Chief Safety Officer or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10.
    • COMSOC Certificate 1 & 2.
    • Qualified Artisan / Blasting Certificate.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Advantageous: Safety Diploma.
    • Advantageous: Integrated Management Systems / Mine overseer certificate / OHS audits.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 3 - years practical experience as Safety Officer in a mining environment.
    • 2 years practical experience as Artisan/Miner in a mining environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Identify, report and make recommendations to line management regarding all Health & Safety related issues in order to prevent and minimize accidents, dangerous occurrences and non-conformances incident investigation and audits.
    • Conduct workplace inspections, report on deviations and follow up on actions taken. Conduct internal audits on all workplace legal documentation.
    • Coordinate actions within the investigation team. Conduct investigation and log event on system (including SAMRASS information). Compile incident/accident file for each incident. Coordinate root cause analysis, necessary actions and incident presentation within the investigation team.
    • Conduct inspections on contractor sites and work performance. Interact with contractors on SHERQ related issues.
    • Assist with Risk Assessments, standards and procedures. Form part of walkabout inspection teams. Assist with all safety- related queries.

    Rock Engineering Officer (C5)

    • Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
    • The successful applicant will report to the Rock Engineer or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Mathematics & Science.
    • Certificate in Strata Control.
    • Accreditation and Registration: SANIRE (SA National Institution of Rock Engineers).
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Advantageous: Accreditation and Registration: ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).
    • Advantageous: Membership: SAIMM (SA Institute of Mining & Metallurgy).
    • Advantageous: Membership: GSSA (Geological Society of South Africa).

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 5 years practical underground experience of which 1 year in Rock Mechanics in a hard rock/metalliferous mine.
    • Advantageous: 1 year Supervisory experience.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Design, approve and revise suitable mining layouts and support according to rock engineering principles and prevailing conditions.
    • Participate in designing mine layouts and mining sequence/ ratio. Data gathering and analysis (core logging, underground mapping, and material properties). Revise/compile relevant MOP’s / SOP’s. Ensure accuracy of design techniques. Advise on pillar design and extraction sequence. Design, approve and revise suitable mining layouts and support according to rock engineering principles. Conduct routine quality control testing of support systems.
    • Continuous investigation of underground conditions toward recommending remedial action / projects to address potential risk. Continuously investigate the possible improvement of support systems. Drive improvement projects, investigate and conduct feasibility studies to keep abreast with developments within the specialist field.
    • Manage and coordinate rock-related accident / incident investigations to ensure detailed, timeous completion thereof. Compile investigation reports and submit / present to relevant stakeholders along with detailed findings and recommendations.
    • Perform Issue Based Risk Assessment as and when required. Hazard identification.
    • Daily: Routine assessment of ground condition. Communication with Production line managers and specialists, e.g., geologists, surveyors, ventilation, safety officers, etc. Informing subordinates. Weekly: Compilation of Weekly Rock Engineering Report. Monthly: Compilation of Monthly Rock Engineering Report. Monthly preplanning, weekly special area meetings.
