• The Contracts Manager oversees delivery of projects from the start through to completion, establishing the optimal contractual framework, overseeing its successful management and delivery whilst ensuring positive economic outcomes. The incumbent functions as the first point of contact for all project stakeholders and guarantees Quality and HSE standards as well as contractual and legislative compliance.

Key Performance Area

• Providing effective leadership in the promotion of HSE compliance in the workplace
• Taking complete Responsibility and Accountability for the overall quality compliance of all projects under his/her control
• Drives short and long term planning and programming and oversees optimal document management and business reporting through SharePoint and the BOS system
• Plans, monitors and manages project costs, ensuring effective optimisation of financial performance
• Manages Stakeholders and protects reputation risks through ethical contracting and relationship practices through the GVK-Siya Zama Values
• Leadership and people management

Academic Qualification

• Tertiary Degree/ Diploma (Building or Civil)

Years of Experience

• 10 Years + Technical Experience 
• 6 Years + Managerial Experience

Professional Registration and Statutory appointment

• SACPCMP (Construction Manager)

Description

The purpose and role of a General Foreman is to ensure the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and snag free, responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising all site operatives, organise all site teams, control the overall project construction activities, responsible for placing of material & plant orders timeously, coordinating & implementation of the companies SHE procedures & policies, ensure implementation of the companies QMS procedures & policies, ensure that a quality product is achieved according to project specifications and good building practice.

• Ensuring overall implementation and maintenance of HSE measures in the work area
• Taking complete Responsibility & Accountability for the overall quality compliance of all areas under his/her control
• Drives the construction process on site
• Executes the project plan and program
• Collaborates with stakeholders and ensures good relations
• Supervisors workforce, people development and healthy industrial relations

Academic Qualification

• Grade 12
• Occupational Health and Safety Course
