    Provincial Manager - Cape Town

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To plan, direct, lead and manage the provincial sales and marketing strategy for Land Bank Insurance. This includes identification and management of all relevant stakeholders and brokers in the province.
    • The primary purpose of the role to drive the growth of Land Bank Insurance products in the province and to increase Land Bank Insurance visibility in order to optimize new and existing business opportunities.
    • The suitable candidate will have diversified and multidisciplinary knowledge and experience, with strong leadership qualities to strategically and innovatively lead the province. The suitable candidate will demonstrate excellent knowledge, skills and experience in the following key performance areas.

    Key Performance Areas

    Business and Operations Management

    • Define and plan the objectives of the Province in accordance with the overall business strategy;
    • Determine the deliverables of the Province in line with agreed overall objectives; Ongoing evaluation of operations with input provided on identified potential areas of improvement to bolster the efficiency of the Province
    • Monitor, evaluate and manage business performance at provincial level in accordance with the agreed targets and customer service level benchmarks;
    • Provide EXCO with timely, relevant, and complete reports on the business performance of the PO
    • Build synergy with other divisions within the Bank

    Business Growth and Delivery of Value Proposition

    • Align Provincial Business Plan to the organisation’s strategy and determine the applicable deliverables and targets for the province
    • Customer service failure recovery interventions / decisions.
    • Develop and execute integrated sales, relationship, and portfolio growth strategies that are aligned with the business plan to achieve targets and other agreed objectives at provincial level;
    • Support the growth in the Province by identifying cross-selling opportunities, building relationships and increasing customer acquisition and retention;
    • Plan, organise and coordinate sales, customer service, and administrative processes to ensure smooth operations within the province aligned to overall business operational model and agreed benchmarks;
    • Ensure that the appropriate quality of business is procured for the Region
    • Manage profitability of the Province: To ensure that the financial objectives of the Province are achieved by: growth of Province in terms of market share and profitability

    Development Impact Mandate

    • Deliver on agreed provincial development mandate in support of the overarching national targets
    • Identify, facilitate and manage the execution of agricultural development projects at a provincial level.

    Customer Value and Stakeholder Management

    • Create a strong sales and service culture, fostering collaboration to drive the achievement of all scorecard targets and behaviours to continuously improve the customer service experience
    • Resolve escalated customer complaints / issues promptly and effectively with relevant feedback captured and appropriately communicated.
    • Identify, establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships within the province and targeted industry segments in accordance with Land Bank values, including provincial government structures, agriculture role players and local community leaders to create opportunities for growth;
    • Liaise with key stakeholders to support appropriate agreements when required;
    • Identify marketing and branding opportunities and plan the branding and marketing actions in conjunction with the Marketing team and lead sales and service activities within the Province by coordinating seminars, micro-marketing events, promotional campaigns, product initiatives, etc.
    • Conduct presentations on Land Bank Insurance products where necessary

    Financial Sustainability

    • Facilitate the achievement of the agreed financial sustainability and profitability targets for the province;
    • Provide input into the annual budget and monitor the implementation by effectively managing costs and avoid over spending;
    • Manage the budget in accordance with relevant governance and take appropriate corrective action as required;
    • Report to management on the performance of the Provinces at the required intervals reflecting all relevant statistics and performance indicators including; profitability, sales, revenue, expenditure, budget variances and key risks;

    Strategy

    • Strategic direction: Determine shortand long-term strategic goals and priorities of the Province
    • Formulation and implementation of the marketing strategy of the Province
    • Represent Province on public forums and at meetings where necessary
    • Provide a primary point-of-contact for regulatory external stakeholders (Government, private sector, internal stakeholders etc.)
    • Lead and influence on behalf of the Land Bank Insurance, local, political, legal and regulatory bodies in order to protect and enhance the Land Bank brand
    • Strategic engagement with stakeholders: Continuous liaison with the EXCO, business chambers, government institutions, and private sector to establish and nurture long-term relationships and strengthen the identity of the Bank in the province.

    Preferred Minimum Education and Experience

    • B Degree in Commerce or a relevant insurance qualification
    • Eligible to be appointed as a Representative in line with FAIS requirements

    Learner: Actuarial

    Purpose of the Learner Programme

    • The purpose of the Learnership Programme is to provide young unemployed graduates with structured learning and workplace experience.
    • The duration of the programme is for 24 months; and provides work exposure to graduates and afford them the opportunity to learn and develop their careers in their specialised field of study. The programme affords graduates exposure for on-the-job exposure and attending training opportunities.

    Manager: Sustainability Programmes

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To support the operationalisation of Land Bank’s Sustainability Framework through the coordination and delivery of targeted sustainability programmes, products and services, internal capability building, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
    • The role is responsible for translating the sustainability framework into action, embedding sustainability across the organisation, and strengthening the Bank’s external credibility and partnerships.
    • This includes leading internal engagement platforms, facilitating awareness and training initiatives, and supporting the Bank’s participation in national and international sustainability forums.
    • The role requires strong relationship-building, project coordination, and communication capabilities to influence change within a growing and evolving sustainability function.

    SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

    • Coordinate and monitor cross-departmental sustainability projects and ensure alignment with the Bank’s scorecard targets.

    • Support the Bank’s participation in key national and global sustainability platforms and forums (e.g. PRB, UNEP-FI, Just Transition forums).

    • Design a structured plan that aligns learning priorities with the Bank’s Sustainability Strategy, incorporating key themes such as climate risk, just transition, ESG integration, and SDGs.
    • Facilitate regular sessions for staff across functions and levels, using tailored content and formats (e.g. in-person, virtual, self-paced) to embed core sustainability principles and expectations.
    • Develop toolkits, guides, explainer documents, and an internal sustainability resource hub (e.g. intranet space) to support ongoing learning and awareness.
    • Establish and coordinate internal working groups, communities of practice, or knowledge exchanges to encourage peer learning and application of sustainability practices across business units.
    • Track participation, gather staff feedback, and assess learning effectiveness to iteratively improve the relevance and impact of training and awareness efforts.

    Preferred Minimum Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
    • 5 years’ experience in sustainability, development, or related programme implementation roles, preferably within the financial services, agriculture, or development sectors.
    • 3 – 5 years’ demonstrated experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder sustainability initiatives, partnerships, or cross-functional projects.
    • 3 – 5 years’ proven track record in facilitating internal awareness, learning programmes, or change management initiatives related to ESG, SDGs, or sustainability strategy.

    Conveyancer: Admitted (FTC)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To support the Provincial teams as part of the deal origination process and ultimately contribute to growing the book and ensuring compliance to all legal requirements and relevant policies and procedures.
    • To perform the required conveyancing and notary activities on behalf of the relevant Provincial Offices by securing loans and legally transferring ownership while ensuring that all relevant legislation pertaining to individuals, entities and respective legal capacity is understood and adhered to.
    • Supporting the process of entering into loan transactions or purchase and sale transactions by assisting with the drafting of all loan contracts in collaboration with the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support the business with required transactions and related legal activities to ensure that risks relating to securities and client accounts are maintained from a legal perspective and the interests of the Bank are protected.
    • Provide management with any required status reports and make recommendations.

    Key Performance Areas

    Drafting, Vetting and Concluding Legally Enforceable Loan Contracts

    • Responsible to compile/ draft required loan agreement/contract with supporting documents, including but not limited to, any conveyancing and notary documents.
    • Drafting of required legal agreements including but not limited to security documents and any conveyancing and/or notary documents for signature as below.
    • Ensure that the signatures from clients and other parties are obtained.
    • Responsible to issue guarantees as required to finance the transaction
    • Responsible to ensure compliance to all conditions, legal requirements and Land Bank policy and procedures.

    Responsible for the Registration of Securities and Associated Processes on behalf of the Land Bank

    • Manages the registration process:
    • Conduct deeds office searches and any other required searches in preparation for the registration of securities.
    • Attend to the registration of conveyancing and notary transactions
    • Collaborate with attorneys for registration of conveyancing and notary transactions in the deeds office.
    • Ensured adherence to all legislative requirements e.g. FICA, NCA, CPA etc.
    • Responsible to inform all the relevant parties as it pertains to the conveyancing transaction once the conveyancing documents are ready for lodgement

    Progress Reporting

    • Analyse and determine the nature and extent of requests received for the compilation of a report
    • Collate, analyse and verify the required data from all relevant sources.
    • Generate the progress report in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
    • Recommend in accordance with the information at hand.
    • Submit reports for approval as required according to the DOPs.

    Maintain Existing Client Accounts and Stakeholder Relationships

    • Receive registered deeds from the relevant Deeds Office, update security system and file security documentation
    • Manages client queries as required in collaboration with the Commercial Bankers and the Portfolio Management Services teams.
    • Ensure continuous follow-ups until expected outcomes are attained
    • Document management of the interaction with the relevant role players for future reference purposes
