    Artisan Assistant (Engineering)

    Artisan Assistant (Engineering)

    • Our client, a well-established company in the mining industry, is seeking an Artisan Assistant (Engineering) to join their operations in Mooinooi, North West, on a 12-month contract. 
    • The successful candidate will provide support to Artisans by assisting with the maintenance, repair, installation and servicing of mining equipment and infrastructure.
    • The ideal candidate will have previous mining experience, be familiar with engineering tools and equipment and demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety within a mining environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years' experience as an Artisan Assistant, Engineering Assistant or in a similar engineering support role within the mining industry.
    • Previous underground mining experience.
    • Mandatory: Hands-on experience using engineering hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance, fabrication and engineering workshop practices.
    • Medically fit to work on a mine site.
    • Basic understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
    • Ability to work shifts, overtime and standby when required.
    • Physically fit and capable of performing manual work in a mining environment.
    • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assist Artisans with the maintenance, repair, servicing and installation of mining equipment and plant infrastructure.
    • Prepare tools, materials and equipment required for maintenance and repair activities.
    • Safely operate and maintain engineering hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment under the supervision of a Artisan.
    • Assist with dismantling, cleaning, inspecting and reassembling mechanical components.
    • Support planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and shutdown maintenance activities.
    • Perform routine inspections and report defects, equipment failures or unsafe conditions to the Artisan or Supervisor.
    • Assist with lifting, moving and positioning equipment, materials and components using approved lifting equipment and safe working practices.
    • Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, inspected and stored correctly after use.
    • Maintain high housekeeping standards in workshops and designated work areas.
    • Complete basic maintenance records, inspection checklists and job cards accurately.
    • Comply with all Mine Health and Safety regulations, company policies and safe work procedures.
    • Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety inspections.
    • Report hazards, near misses and unsafe conditions promptly.
    • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the qualified Artisan or Supervisor.

    Artisan Assistant (Boilermaker)

    Artisan Assistant (Boilermaker)

    • We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients in the mining industry for an Artisan Assistant (Boilermaker) to join their operations based in Mooinooi, North West, on a 12-month contract.
    • The successful candidate will provide support to the qualified Artisan Boilermaker by assisting with the maintenance, fabrication, installation and repair of underground mining equipment and infrastructure within a chrome mining environment.
    • The ideal candidate will have previous mining experience, be physically fit for underground work and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Minimum of 1–2 years' experience as an Artisan Assistant (Boilermaker) within the mining industry.
    • Mandatory: Hands-on experience using boilermaking tools and equipment, including grinders, cutting equipment, welding equipment, power tools and hand tools used in fabrication and maintenance activities.
    • Experience assisting with the maintenance and repair of mining equipment, steel structures and plant infrastructure.
    • Basic understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and safe working procedures.
    • Ability to work shifts, overtime and standby when operationally required.
    • Physically fit and capable of working in underground mining conditions.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Artisan Boilermaker with the maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation of underground mining equipment and infrastructure.
    • Prepare materials, tools and equipment required for maintenance and fabrication activities.
    • Assist with welding, cutting, grinding, fitting and assembling steel components under the supervision of the Artisan Boilermaker.
    • Support the installation, maintenance and repair of conveyors, chutes, pipes, pumps, hoppers and underground steel structures.
    • Assist with planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and shutdown maintenance activities.
    • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report defects, damage or abnormal wear to the Artisan Boilermaker or Supervisor.
    • Safely handle and transport tools, materials and components to and from underground work areas.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with housekeeping standards.
    • Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, inspected and stored correctly after use.
    • Comply with all Mine Health and Safety regulations, company policies, procedures and safe work practices.
    • Participate in toolbox talks, pre-task risk assessments and safety inspections.
    • Complete basic maintenance records and promptly report hazards, near misses and unsafe working conditions.
    • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Artisan Boilermaker or Supervisor.

    Diesel Mechanic Assistant

    Assistant Diesel Mechanic

    • A leading company in the mining industry is seeking an Assistant Diesel Mechanic to join its operations in Mooinooi, North West, on a 12-month contract.
    • The successful candidate will assist qualified Diesel Mechanics with the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy mining and earthmoving equipment while maintaining high safety standards

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years' experience as an Assistant Diesel Mechanic, within the mining industry.
    • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems and mechanical components.
    • Exposure to servicing and repairing heavy mining equipment will be advantageous.
    • Medically fit to work on a mine site.
    • Willing to work shifts, overtime and standby when required.
    • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assist Diesel Mechanics with servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy mining and earthmoving equipment.
    • Assist with preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of diesel-powered machinery.
    • Support fault finding and diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulic systems and mechanical components.
    • Replace worn or damaged parts under the supervision of a qualified Diesel Mechanic.
    • Perform routine inspections and report defects or equipment abnormalities.
    • Assist with dismantling, cleaning, repairing and reassembling mechanical components.
    • Ensure all tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
    • Complete basic maintenance documentation and job cards accurately.

    Project Planner (Mining)

    Project Planner

    • A leading mining and EPCM company based in Westonaria, Johannesburg is seeking a Planner to join its project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining project schedules for mining, engineering and construction projects, ensuring that project timelines, resources and deliverables are effectively managed to achieve successful project execution.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a Planner within the mining, EPCM, construction or heavy engineering industry.
    • Relevant qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related technical field.
    • Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
    • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling and project controls.
    • Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering and construction projects.
    • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Update and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

    • Identify schedule deviations and assist with recovery planning to minimise project delays.
    • Ensure planning documentation is accurate, current and aligned with project objectives.
    • Support project controls through schedule analysis, forecasting and reporting.
    • Maintain compliance with company procedures, client requirements and industry best practices.
    • Carry out any additional planning and project support duties as required by Management.
