Travelling Blood Draw Nurse

• Next Biosciences requires travelling Nurses to attend patient's homes or corporate clients business premises for our Bespoke Blood Draw Service. 

Skills required for the position:

• Enrolled or registered nurse.
• Excellent people skills- ability to listen, communicate and relate to others (as each client is unique) as well as empathy for others especially during sensitive situations.
• Strong administration skills.
• Detail-orientated work habits.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.

Requirements:

• PhD Human Genetics/ MSc in Genetics or related field & relevant experience
• HPCSA registration in relevant register and practice field
• Experience in Genetics Laboratory
• Experience with NGS Technology
• Fulltime position at Next Genetics Laboratory in Midrand

• Experience is key and the individual should ideally have experience in genetics and NGS technology (experience in reproductive genetics would be advantageous)
• Being up to date with current technology and international trends in the field
• Ensuring that the team is up to date with current literature regarding all the services offered by Next Genetics and staying abreast of relevant publications in the field
• Research new and emerging technology (across all Next Genetics services)
• Service development i.e. Expanding tests / services offered by Next Genetics
• Optimizing processes in the laboratory (alongside the Lab Manager)
• Trouble shooting technical issues in the lab with Lab Manager
• Interpretation and signing out of results (alongside the Lab Manager)
• Oversight of the lab from a technical point of view
• Maintaining scientific relationships with our international collaborators
• Relay advances in the field to our key healthcare practitioners (HCPs) – fertility clinics etc. alongside the Genetic counsellor
• Assisting with patient documentation / website content / HCP information
• Assisting with writing up annual laboratory feedback to HCPs
• Work alongside the rest of the team towards publishing relevant data and cases

The person in this role would work closely with the genetic counsellor and lab manager, and together they would form a team.
