    Financial Accountant

    • A global alternative lending provider that focuses on trade finance solutions is looking for a driven and forward-thinking Financial Accountant to join their expanding international team in Johannesburg.
    • As a valued member within this dynamic and impactful business, your main responsibility in this role will be to manage financial records, ensure regulatory compliance and provide valuable insights into the financial operations of the business.
    • The Financial Accountant position calls for a confident and self-motivated individual who excels at working independently while also collaborating effectively with team members. In addition, strong technical abilities, analytical and strategic thinking, as well as exceptional problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

    Key qualifications and experience required for the Financial Accountant:

    • Bachelor’s degreein relevant subject matter (i.e., finance, accounting, business-related)
    • of 2 years’ experiencein a similar role
    • SAIPA / Newly qualified CA(SA) (Advantageous)
    • Strong knowledge and experience working with finance, tax and cash managementas well ascomplianceand trade finance
    • Industry experience:Trade Finance / Financial Services
    • International experience / global exposure is highly preferred
    • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills

    Key duties of the Financial Accountant:

    • Manage Debtor’s Reconciliation and Debtor’s Cycle including invoicing of clients and review of age analysis
    • Liaise with creditors/suppliers as required and carry out monthly creditors/suppliers’ reconciliation
    • Submit weekly cash flow report, which includes all bank balances and sales figures
    • Reconcile the VAT figures to the ledger account and income statements
    • Prepare standing journals every month i.e. interest on all loan accounts, depreciation, and revaluation journals
    • Prepare management accounts and manage all expenses and income accounts
    • Be involved in the creation of the annual budget, obtain information from management
    • Debtors and creditors management
    • Cash & Treasury management
    • Tax Management
    • Financials and management accounts
