    Shopify Technical Lead

    Who We Are

    • We’re a digital experience agency based in Somerset West, building stunning and successful ecommerce solutions for big brands.

    Role Overview

    • As the Shopify Tech Lead, you’ll be the bridge between client needs and technical execution.
    • You’ll scope features, identify platform constraints, troubleshoot issues, and assist the development team on what’s feasible, optimal, and aligned with Shopify best practices.

    Who We’re Looking For

    • You have a strong understanding of Shopify as a platform, from its capabilities and limitations to how themes, apps, checkout, and data models work.
    • Coding experience or background would be beneficial.
    • You should be comfortable digging into admin settings, app configurations, schema structures, and storefront behaviours.

    Skills Required

    • 2+ years of hands-on Shopify experience in a technical or solutions-focused role
    • Strong understanding of Shopify architecture, APIs, checkout, themes, and app ecosystem
    • Able to scope feature requests and translate business needs into technical briefs
    • Comfortable working with developers to explain requirements and troubleshoot blockers
    • Experience working with tools like Shopify Flow, metafields, Scripts/Functions, etc.
    • Comfortable in client-facing calls—clear communication and confident technical presence
    • Familiarity with platform limitations (e.g. checkout extensibility, third-party integrations)
    • Bonus: experience with Shopify Plus or headless (Hydrogen) environments

    Key Responsibilities

    • Scope new Shopify features and requests for both traditional and headless setups
    • Document technical requirements, edge cases, and integration points
    • Serve as the technical point of contact during builds, QA, and post-launch support
    • Troubleshoot platform issues, app conflicts, or performance concerns
    • Collaborate with the project manager to define timelines and identify risks
    • Review build quality from a technical perspective, ensuring performance and structure
    • Recommend best-fit apps or native solutions based on client needs
    • Stay updated on the Shopify roadmap, checkout changes, and app trends

    Web Quality Assurance Tester

    Role Overview

    • You’ll be the last line of defence between design and delivery, owning the quality assurance process across multiple projects.
    • From Figma file to final build, you’ll test across mobile and web platforms, spot bugs, confirm designs are built to spec, and work closely with developers, designers and project managers to ensure an exceptional user experience.

    Who We're Looking For

    • A detail-obsessed QA tester with a background in software or digital testing.
    • You’re not just ticking checkboxes—you deeply care about user flow, visual precision, and interactive consistency across devices.
    • You understand that QA isn’t an afterthought; it’s a critical piece of delivering world-class digital experiences.

    Skills Required

    • 2+ years of QA experience in a digital agency, tech company, or product team
    • Strong understanding of mobile and web UI/UX patterns
    • Experience comparing Figma designs to final builds
    • Familiarity with responsive testing tools and device simulators (BrowserStack, DevTools, etc.)
    • Comfortable writing detailed bug reports and collaborating in tools like Jira, Trello, or Monday.com
    • Strong written communication and a keen eye for both design and function
    • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a bonus
    • Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing
    • Familiarity with QA workflows in agile or sprint-based teams

    Key Responsibilities

    • Compare web and mobile builds against Figma designs pixel by pixel
    • Test new features and app flows before releases across devices and screen sizes
    • Document and report bugs clearly, with all needed reproduction steps and screenshots
    • Verify that the design functionality matches the expected user behaviour
    • Run regression testing on updated builds and deployments
    • Collaborate closely with devs, designers, and project managers
    • Proactively flag usability issues and inconsistencies
    • Maintain checklists and test cases where needed
    • Continuously look for ways to improve the QA process
