Project Management and Execution:

• Identify business opportunities, define project requirements with clients, and obtain necessary quotations from suppliers.
• Participate in kick-off meetings to determine project scope, evaluate quotes, and verify client orders.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontracting, and site logistics, including supervising material reception and issuing instructions to site teams.
• Oversee project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget, and report to Operations Manager.

Project Closure and Documentation:

• Conduct final inspections, manage invoicing, prepare project documentation, and complete project financial analysis.

Client Relationship Management:

• Maintain strong communication with clients, participate in eetings, address requests, and resolve project issues.

QHSE Compliance:

• Contribute to QA and Safety systems, ensure compliance with company and legal standards, and coordinate project-specific HSE procedures.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:

Recruitment 

• BEng degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics). 
• Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in the field
• Good understanding of Engineering and Oil and Gas related technical requirements
• Technical knowledge of steel fabrication (piping and structural).

Summary of Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills:

• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials and components per specific codes, procedures, and customer requirements.
• Execute inspections as directed by project or QC managers.
• Review and improve NDT processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency; assist in project preparation.
• Interpret test results, provide recommendations, and maintain test documentation and reports.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members, support engineers, and continuously develop NDT expertise.
• Manage the QC/NDT equipment store.

Skills

• Knowledge of best practices in record keeping; effective communication and attention to detail.

Knowledge

• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings, procedures, industry specifications & codes.
• General understanding of industry related specifications, e.g. AWS D1.1, ASME IX, AMSE B31.3, API
• General understanding and familiarity of NDE (MT, PT, RT, UT) methods and reports.
• General understanding and familiarity of fabrication processes. E.g. Welding (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW), cutting, rolling etc.

Qualifications

• Matric (required)
• NDT qualifications: SNT-TC-1A / ISO9712 Level II MPI + LPI (required)
• SAIW Level I/ II welding inspector(Would be advantageous*)

Experience

• Minimum of 3 – 4 years experience working as an NDT Technician.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering fabrication facility. 
• Valid Driver’s licence
