    Junior Certified Aviation Technician (Mechanical) – Flight Line

    Description

    • Conduct line maintenance inspections;
    • Conduct routine inspections on various avionic systems on the aircraft;
    • Conduct fault finding and rectify based on the fault;
    • Perform A-checks including weekly service checks;
    • Perform thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify any potential issues or defects;
    • Conduct necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft;
    • Adhere to established maintenance procedures and safety standards;
    • Assist the Production Controller in implementing and maintaining company policies, procedures, and systems related to aircraft maintenance;
    • All activities must be properly recorded and signed off as per FlySafair/ SACAA requirements ensuring that all the required legal aspects are complied with;
    • Health and Safety requirements must always be complied with to ensure Personal and other Personnel Safety, Fire and Accident/Incident preventions;
    • Ensure that the work area, equipment, and tooling are properly maintained and safe prior to starting any job to prevent accidents or incidents to aircraft and staff;
    • Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions;
    • Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent;
    • Trade test Certificate;
    • Minimum of 2 years aviation maintenance experience (Essential);
    • Previous experience working as an Aviation Technician on B737- 400 and -800 (Advantageous);
    • Previous Line Maintenance experience (Advantageous);
    • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays;
    • Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally;
    • Valid South-African passport holder;
    • Sound understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation;
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint).

    Senior Manager: Operations

    Responsible for the following:

    • Safe operations.
    • The control of operations and operational standards of all aeroplanes operated.
    • The identification of operations coordination functions which impact on operational control.
    • All legal documents are compliant with the SACAA regulation.

    Oversee the following for operational efficiency:

    • Schedules.
    • Training programmes.
    • Crew scheduling and rostering.
    • Ensure that FlySafair operations are conducted in accordance with current regulations, standards and policies.
    • Responsible for the actioning of any aeronautical information affecting the safety of the schedule.
    • The dissemination of aeroplane safety information, both internal and external, in conjunction with the safety management system.
    • Oversee the efficient management and control of slots.
    • Oversee that the aircraft performance specifications are aligned to the routes and aerodromes;
    • Oversee that the navigational department is efficient and that all scheduled flights are safe and optimised;
    • Must be actively involved in any emergency that may affect operations;
    • Responsible for formulating and implementing of policies and procedures;
    • Ensure the preparation and verification of the department's fixed expenses;
    • Ensure that relevant feedback and reporting is provided to Executive Management;
    • Responsible for the contents of the operator's Relevant Operation Manuals;
    • Responsible for all functional aspects of Safety, QA and company training departments;
    • Drive on Time Performance (OTP);
    • Formulate and implement all procedures required for supporting ground and flight operations;
    • Responsible for all operational decisions during delay operations with the support of Managers;
    • Oversight of the OCC activities during operations;
    • Oversee the amendments and the regular revision of services in respect to all publications and documentations;
    • Commission and analyse research and information from various sources to enable effective decision-making;
    • Responsible for placing serviceable aircraft/s on the daily flight schedule;
    • Formulate alternative courses of action as deemed necessary to address aircraft delays;
    • Liaise with Maintenance Control Centre regarding serviceability and availability of aircrafts;
    • Responsible for the International Flight Support system (IFS);
    • Drive fuel efficiencies through process optimisation;
    • AIMS optimization;
    • Oversee and manage complex projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timely completion;
    • Ensure Resource Management System (RMS) implementation and efficient use of the system;
    • Draw reports, analyse data, drive efficiencies and report on trends;
    • Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders i.e. ACSA, ATNS, Boeing etc;
    • Oversee and ensure that all 90-day legal documentations are completed in accordance with the FlySafair Operations Manual; -
    • Ensure Operations follow and comply with current CAA regulations, airworthiness and safety standards;
    • Responsible for regulatory CAA liaison, change of regulations and providing input to CARCOM;
    • Responsible for the overall discipline, welfare and morale of the team.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent years of aviation management experience;
    • Minimum of 10 years' Aviation experience, of which, 5 years must be Managerial experience in the Operations Support function;
    • In-depth knowledge of Operational Support and Flight Operations;
    • Must have sound knowledge of CAA regulations and procedures (Essential);
    • Knowledge of Air Traffic Control;
    • General knowledge of NAV planning, route structures of ATNS, Airports and Aircraft performance;
    • Knowledge of Part 121 operations;
    • Effective management and delegation skills;
    • Excellent Communication skills;
    • Good presentation skills;
    • Strong financial and business acumen;
    • Complex problem solving;
    • Strong decision-making;
    • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions;
    • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust;
    • Ability to work under pressure and plan personal workload effectively;
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint (Essential);
    • Ability to manage conflict.

    Bookkeeper(Temporary)

    Description

    • Contribute to monthly review and reporting.
    • Assist with year-end reconciliations for audit process.
    • Analyse and prepare reconciliation of GL accounts.
    • Support the Accountant with the following:
    • Creditors and expenses
    • Journals and month end procedures
    • Weekly/ Monthly/ Annual Reports
    • Highlight inaccuracies/errors/discrepancies etc.
    • Provide auditors with information required for year-end audit.
    • Oversee the Accounts payable function.
    • Verify and approve all transactions are correctly classified and supported by the appropriate source documents.
    • Provide guidance and input when the team experiences problems.
    • Support the department in fostering a positive teamwork ethic.
    • Provide assistance and support to team members in achievement of team goals.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a Finance role or relevant degree (Essential);
    • Experience in an accounting software package (Advantageous);
    • Willingness to work overtime as and when required;
    • Knowledge of basic financial transactions i.e. debits and credits
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
