    Senior Director Country Service - Southern & Eastern Africa

    Your responsibilities and tasks:

    • Coordinate and drive the Country Service organisation centrally across regions, covering the entire GEA portfolio – i.e. all 5 divisions and their respective core technologies
    • Develop best-in-class service product portfolio to fulfil customer expectations and enhance their competitiveness
    • Continuously optimize service excellence e.g. state-of-the-art processes, cross-selling, digitalization
    • Achieve service sales growth, expanding market penetration/share and coverage
    • Set and track sales targets, KPI’s and individual performance management for all Country service personnel
    • Determine and implement the go-to-market strategy, define sales channels according to regional / country requirements and resource availability
    • Manage key and strategic accounts and build a key account network
    • Determine Order Intake, Sales and bottom-line Forecasts & Budgets, manage GM, EBITDA and ROCE for Country Service
    • Maintain and develop ERP system and other digital platforms that may be required to operate a successful after sales business, including all relevant administrative processes and personnel
    • Manage the complete offer management process from definition of scope to technical detailing and solution pricing
    • Lead the Country Service Team to the achievement of set annual objectives (OI, Sales, GM, EBITDA and ROCE)
    • Define pricing and discount policies and specific customer related conditions, with responsibility on overall after sales profitability
    • Support after sales solutions/products development projects and contribute to define priorities with a solutions management role
    • Take the lead on new market penetration and growth strategies.

    Your profile and qualifications:

    • Min 5 years’ relevant experience in Leadership role with Sales/Services and/or similar function as core
    • Significant service sales steering experience
    • Proven know-how in principles guiding after sales growth – i.e. iBase Management & Sales Excelllence
    • Proven experience in leading a Service team, within a product / service matrix
    • Good understanding and appreciation of after-sales and the role this plays in successful and sustainable customer relationship development.
    • Deep practical know-how of state-of-the-art ERP system, sales processes, after sales management, organization methods and tools (e.g. FSE management, WIP management, pricing, CRM)  
    • Change management experience
    • Proven experience of working within a matrix
    • Proven skills in international negotiation & after sales development with customers in Africa – international working experience
    • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles

    Freight and Logistic Expert

    Your responsibilities and tasks:

    Accountability – Freight and Logistics Procedures

    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all local and cross-border freight processes within the GEA Africa region.
    • Create and maintain an "Africa Workbook," which includes freight and forwarding guidelines for each country in the region, along with a standard cost framework for typical shipments.
    • Maintain and implement standard HS codes for accurate classification of goods.
    • Serve as the accredited company representative for customs compliance.
    • Communicate and disseminate updates on legislation that may impact logistics operations.
    • Manage requests for quotes (RFQs) and forwarding instructions, ensuring timely communication with relevant parties.
    • Address and resolve logistical issues and complaints as they arise.
    • Provide after-hours support for urgent shipment issues.

    Supplier Management

    Oversee supplier management for preferred freight and logistics partners, maintaining an up-to-date supplier list, including:

    • Inbound & Outbound Freight Forwarders: Sea & Air
    • International and Local Couriers
    • Local Road Freight Services

    Coordinate actions and communication with preferred vendors, focusing on:

    • Rate reviews and RFQ processes
    • Service Level Agreement (SLA) evaluations
    • Payment queries and dispute resolution
    • Monitoring service quality and addressing complaints

    Document Control

    • Ensure accountability for all import and export documentation, including necessary licenses (import permits, temporary imports/exports) and Certificate of Compliance (COC) documentation.
    • Manage the preparation and filing of all export documents, ensuring accuracy in invoice details and freight documentation.
    • Maintain records of 0% rated VAT invoices (SAD500 and EDI documentation) as required.
    • Oversee the costing and processing of freight invoices, ensuring all required documentation is provided by suppliers for timely payment.
    • Liaise with clients and their clearing agents to facilitate a smooth cross-border process.

    Cost Control

    • Implement freight consolidation for shipments unless otherwise specified, leveraging RFQ quotes for cost efficiency.
    • Select appropriate modes of transport and communicate framework guidelines clearly.
    • Conduct cost analysis of freight expenditures, addressing any exceptional costs.
    • Collaborate on ensuring proper freight allocation to Overheads, Project, or Balance Sheet accounts.
    • Review and verify freight invoices to ensure alignment with globally agreed rates and quotes received.
    • Confirm applicable duties are correct and manage their payment.
    • Enhance and manage the RFQ tool for non-standard route shipments not covered by the global tender.
    • Negotiate prices when necessary, escalating and seeking approval for quotations that deviate from the least expensive options.

    Training & Development

    • Develop and communicate terms of sale with associated risks for each country.
    • Create SOPs for cross-border shipping and imports, facilitating structured communication through bulletins as necessary.
    • Conduct bi-annual training sessions for all GEA Africa stakeholders to ensure compliance with freight and forwarding regulations.
    • Organize refresher sessions on the RFQ process for stakeholders and suppliers.
    • Provide a standard cost guide for shipments to support informed decision-making.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Performance Metrics: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics processes.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks within logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Technology Utilization: Leverage logistics management software and tools to enhance tracking, reporting, and process efficiency.
    • Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the development of sustainable logistics practices, including reducing carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly shipping options.

    Your profile and qualifications:

    Additional tertiary qualifications or certifications in Logistics are highly desirable and with at least 5 years related job experience.

    • Strong ability to lead and motivate team
    • 5 years' experience in Forwarding & Clearing
    • Sound and specialist knowledge of clearing procedures
    • 2 years' experience in a Supervisory function
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office programs
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Work independently and handle multiple projects

    Field Service Engineer

    Your responsibilities and tasks:

    • Troubleshooting of GEA equipment and other manufacturer’s equipment.
    • Performing of planned and unplanned services and maintenance and repairs to equipment of all types and sizes as per applicable GEA SOP’s and maintenance manuals.
    • Installation and Commissioning of Equipment.
    • Assist in Service Project Execution activities.
    • Overhauling of equipment.
    • Performing of tasks as per the defined and strict schedule to meet the deadline.
    • Carry out site visits, and monitor site performance.
    • Gathering and classifying data using various measuring equipment applicable to the equipment.

    • Testing of malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.

    • Maintaining of records of repairs and maintenance of equipment requiring future service as per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements and customer requirements.
    • Coordinating of work schedules with other departments and shops in order to keep inconvenience to a minimum.
    • Providing of technical direction to service personnel.
    • Adhering and following all HSE governance of GEA and customers

    Your profile and qualifications:

    • Candidate are likely to have earned a Certificate or Diploma or relevant qualification as an Artisan in one of technical fields relevant to our organization.
    • The successful candidate will be a seasoned artisan/FSE with a minimum work experience of 5 years within our Industry.
    • Correspondingly, the candidate should prove his/her ability to read and understand basic schematics and diagrams in his/her relevant field of expertise.
    • The candidate should have sound knowledge of the Health and Safety acts and legal requirements pertaining to the industry and preferably have completed Health & Safety training courses.
