    Plant, Equipment and Machinery Appraiser/Valuer - Technical Services

    Key performance areas include:

    Independently conducting own assessments and valuations of plant, equipment and machinery, and providing expect advice on:

    • The appropriateness and reasonability of the Client’s anticipated capital expenditure on plant, equipment and machinery in order to validate against the applicable industry norms.
    • The functional, economic, physical obsolescence, etc of plant, equipment and machinery including the impact and implications thereof on the IDC’s physical collateral register.
    • The forecast of total and remaining economic life and value of plant, equipment and machinery including the impact and implications thereof on the IDC’s physical collateral.
    • The variance between the Client’s and own independently determined estimated capital expenditure costings, envisaged process improvements, etc, including making recommendations for adherence to industry norms and best practices.
    • The appropriateness of the envisaged plant and equipment installation strategy, methodology, programme and deliverables against set programme milestones.
    • The risks inherent in the clients’ plant and equipment projects including making recommendations for risk mitigation
    • The validity and accuracy of reviewed valuation reports of the physical assets prepared by others.
    • The required continuous improvement on the department’s process, procedures, templates, etc.
    • Maintain relevant records and relations in support of expertise, expert knowledge
    • Report writing and presentations at internal and external committees
    • Manage effective interaction with SBUs and Departments
    • Maintain and enhance current knowledge and awareness of valuation and other effective practices.

    Qualification and Experience

    Qualifications

    • Degree or N. Dip in Engineering or NQF6 or equivalent (Minimum ECSA candidacy)
    • Registration - ME201
    • Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), American Society Appraiser (ASA) will be an advantage

    Knowledge & experience

    • 5 - 8 years' experience in plant, machinery and equipment appraisal
    • Work experience in mechanical / industrial engineering and/or financial services industry will be an advantage

    Property Valuer - Technical Services

    Key performance areas include:

    • To independently review and determine appropriate fixed asset (land and building) values cognisant of all value forming factors for the purpose of verifying purchase prices, authenticating shareholder contributions, establishing security cover, setting reserve prices at disposal, insurance, etc.
    • To provide expert advice within field of expertise regarding values, value forming factors, market trends, collateralization, etc.
    • To maintain relevant records and relations in support of expertise, expert knowledge.
    • To maintain pertinent professional and expert standing, both within and beyond IDC
    • Review external and internal valuation reports.

    Qualification and Experience

    Qualifications

    • Applicants must have Diploma or Degree in Land Management/ Economics, Real Estate Valuation & Management, Regional & Town Planning, or equivalent.
    • Appropriate registration with South African Council for Property Valuers Profession, or equivalent.

    Knowledge & experience

    • 5-8 years appropriate experience in land and building valuation.
    • Analysis and interpretation of the factors and market forces and information effecting asset values.
    • Experience in valuation of movable assets (plant, equipment and machinery) would be an added advantage.

    Project Manager (12 Months FTC)

    Qualification and Experience

    • BCom with post graduate degree e.g., BCompt (Honours).
    • Exposure to legal environment and project management will be an advantage
    • The candidate should have at least a minimum of 8 years’ experience which includes experience in financial accounting, and project management.
    • Experience with Trust Accounting and/ or review of Trust accounts and/ signed off or financial statement analysis and review of PBOs.
    • A strong financial accounting knowledge and experience base focused on financial statement analysis and reporting.
    • Experience in doing full cycle accounting would be an added advantage.
    • Sound corporate and commercial legal knowledge.
    • Necessary skills and competence to deal with the establishment and management of Trusts.
    • Project management experience.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Co-ordinate the information required from each project/province;
    • Create the terms of reference for appointments of the required service providers which include but are not limited to lawyers, auditors and consultants required to achieve the various milestones;
    • Ensure the project remains on track in terms of costs and timelines;
    • With support from the relevant service provider, prepare a set of financial statements from record to report for each of the trusts;
    • Generation of reports such as General ledger, Trial balance, etc. for these trusts;
    • Submit tax returns to SARS for the period since the inception of the respective trusts;
    • Review all the trust documents, NCDI project agreements, loan and grant agreements;
    • Advice on compliance and proper governance structures to enable conversion of the trusts to PBOs;
    • Set out the process of conversion of the trusts to PBOs;
    • Regular follow-up with relevant government department and the Master’s office;
    • Reinstate, amend, and align the NCDI project agreements to reflect the conversion of loans to grants in the agreements.

    CSI Specialist

    Qualification and Experience

    • Bachelor'sdegree in social science, Social Development or related/relevant field. 
    • 5-8 years relevant experience in Corporate Social Investment or socio-economic development
    • Strong understanding of CSR/CSI principles and global standards (e.g., UN Sustainable Development Goals, ESG frameworks), Shared value and sustainable development
    • Knowledge of how CSI aligns with business strategy and brand reputation
    • Understanding of Socio-economic challenges (education, health, unemployment, inequality), Community development methodologies
    • Ability to conduct Needs assessments, social impact analysis
    • Project & Program Management
    • Skills in Planning, budgeting, and execution of CSI initiatives, Monitoring and evaluation (M&E), Risk assessment
    • Governance, Compliance & Reporting.
    • Familiarity with Legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., B-BBEE in South Africa, ESG reporting standards)
    • Experience compiling Sustainability reports and Annual CSI reports
    • Understanding of Grant management, Cost control and financial reporting

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • To timeously respond to applications for funding.
    • To conduct research / benchmarking exercises to input into designated area 
      To monitor and track the implementation of approved projects to ensure that funds are used as approved
    • To regularly liaise with communities and beneficiaries
      To contribute in drafting reports for annual report, Exco, board and external stakeholders.
    • To provide project support to senior staff within the department
      Perform other related duties as required
    • Effective Partnerships and stakeholder management to enhance the CSI mandate and IDC strategic imperatives for specific projects/initiatives (youth, community projects & co-operative, schools and etc.) with Units/Departments, and external partners.
